The Martial Unity

Chapter 3133: Ominous Curse

Chapter 3133: Ominous Curse

Rui’s eyes widened with shock as the ejaculated evolutionary seed, sentient and virile in and of itself, launched itself towards the Moridia Continent at extraordinary speeds. Had he been dealing with a human Martial Sage, Rui might have mocked him for indulging himself in one last orgasm on the verge of death.

But he understood the sheer gravity of this meant.

“STOP THAT FROM REACHING MORIDIA!” Rui roared to the Martial Sages with a grim expression.

The Martial Sages didn’t understand the significance of what evolutionary seed meant instantly like Rui did, yet they heeded his command, launching themselves after Anthea’s legacy, firing a myriad attacks to destroy it.

And yet, the retreating evolutionaries had no intention of allowing them to succeed.

BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!

A myriad of battles erupted even as the evolutionaries retreated from the Panama Continent, protecting the meteoric legacy of the supreme commander of the Evolutionary Army. The Martial Sages gritted their teeth, pushing themselves to the very limit as they struggled to hunt down the meteoric sperm that surged towards the Moridia Continent.

“Hehehe…” Anthea chuckled mirthlessly as he came to the very brink of death. “You… will not succeed, I’m afraid. Reproduction and seed… have special significance among us evolutionaries.”

His voice was strained.

His breathing was labored.

His body was a pitch black, as though he were a shadow on the ground despite the bright light of the afternoon Sun illuminating the ravaged battlefield around them.

THUD

Rui dropped his grip as he stood over Anthea with a grim expression. “You… what have you done?”

Anthea simply closed his eyes.

“…I had two choices,” his voice was weak. “I could have… completely adaptively evolved to your poison at the cost of my health and lifespan, I would have… been able to retreat from this battlefield and return home, with perhaps a few months left to live. However…”

A hint of strength entered his voice.

“I chose to forsake life for legacy.”

His weakened eyes slowly shifted towards Rui.

“My virile seed contains the evolution that I have undergone.”

Rui’s expression grew grim at those words.

He remembered the evolution that Anthea had undergone before Rui injected him with the Gu.

It was as though he had limitless physical power.

His strikes were so heavy that they greatly exceeded what even Amare was capable of at her very strongest. He had elevated himself to such a high level that he may as well have undergone the Body Evolution process of the Squire breakthrough, autonomously.

Then there was the fact that he had adaptively evolved to the Gu, even if he lost all his lifespan in the process.

The precious and priceless genetic information of both of these phenomena were contained in his sentient seed, which was surging towards the Moridia Continent.

Rui’s eyes darkened as he fully understood the consequences.

The next generation of evolutionaries would be born with all the power that Anthea had evolved and would contain the genetic information needed to resist the Gu poison without losing their lifespan.

Anthea had understood that Rui’s Gu was essentially the absolute kryptonite of the evolutionary species. In order to protect his people and his future descendants from Rui’s deathly power, he had redirected all his remaining vitality to producing sperm cells that were equipped with the genetic information needed to protect them from the Gu poison.

Even as he died, he directed a triumphant smile towards Rui.

“The Evolutionary Army… has an absolute reproductive mandate…” his voice weakened as he drew closer and closer to death. “Only one male… the strongest male, receives the privilege and duty of reproducing with all the females. This… has been our absolute tradition for eons.”

Rui’s eyes widened with shock and disgust at those words. “What…?! Your entire species is entirely inbred?! But…”

“With our mastery over genetics, getting rid of genetic defects is trivially easy. Incestual reproduction is not taboo to our species and comes with many benefits.” Anthea’s tone was proud. “And thus, each generation of evolutionaries is significantly stronger than the previous generation. And the next generation…”

His dying eyes lit up with a flicker of anticipation. “…will be astronomically more powerful than current generations. For I have burned my lifeforce to empower all of them with the legacy of my sacrifice and greatness.”

The air darkened as the implications of this horrific revelation bore down on him.

This was very similar to the blood children of human civilization and the eggs of the Blood Goddess.

Except it was much more powerful, each ejaculation contained hundreds of millions of sperm, while the Blood Goddess only had a million eggs or so.

It ensured that the next generation of evolutionaries would be much stronger than the next generation of human beings, even if one took into account the blood children and their superhuman physicality.

On top of that, Rui didn’t benefit from the blood eggs of the Blood Goddess, and he was the one who had already been targeted by the Evolutionary Army even before he defeated their Supreme Commander.

The strongest of the next generation of evolutionaries would astronomically surpass Anthea and would do everything in their power to kill him, destroy human civilization, and take over the continent as Anthea himself had mandated.

“My children, my grandchildren, and all my descendants…” he whispered. “…they will… hunt you forever. You will… never know a life of peace and harmony. You are… doomed to spend your entire life fighting to survive. And when one day, when you eventually succumb…”

His eyes flared with boundless hatred.

“I want you to remember me.”

Almost as if he wanted to deprive Rui of the final word, he ended his life then and there.

With his mastery of genetics, it was trivially easy for him to do so. He undoubtedly was paranoid about Rui extracting the Gu from his body and keeping him alive by force for interrogation of all the priceless information he had.

And thus, the Supreme Commander of the Evolutionary Army passed away.
