Rowan’s dimensional soul barely slipped through the rapidly healing tear in reality before it zipped shut behind him with a loud clap. This wound in reality had closed more quickly than it normally should and he suspected that it was the work of the World Stele who was ensuring that he would not be able to get back into this space quickly enough to kill Thenos, and if he was a bit slow with his reaction, then he would have lost his chance to stop this titan.

If this space could hide Doom Star from the gaze of all of reality then it would be nearly impossible for Rowan to find it without the aid of the World Stele, and Thenos would be assured of his freedom, this was an outcome that Rowan did not want. Thenos could not be regarded as one of his greatest enemies, but his talents made it inevitable that he would crave Rowan’s powers, and the best moment to deal with this great threat was when he was at his weakest.

Stay tuned with

To rapidly enter this space in a nondescript manner, the dimensional soul had taken the form of a golden glow, which resembled a solar flare, and against the bright glow of Rowan’s main body, this flare of light was lost within and he could easily slip past the attention of the World Stele.

When the dimensional soul entered this shattered space, his form flickered like a half-digitized phantom haze, it was as if reality was finding it difficult to analyze his presence and he took the familiar form of Rowan, wearing bright golden armor with his Destroyer on his right hand and Bleeding Edge on the left.

His soul had a sort of weight that no soul should have, and Rowan had observed the way reality seemed to be glitching all around him. A part of him finds it a bit disturbing that even Primordial beings of impossible powers could be easily captured by reality and their essence and presence were properly understood, but for him, he was a variable that was now alien from reality.

’Why am I feeling like I am a sort of bug in a well-run program?’

Usually, bugs were quickly identified and hunted by the system’s antibody, and the first of those antibodies, Nemesis, was now shackled inside of his Destroyer. Something told Rowan that this would just be the first of many, and the only solution was to grow fast enough to overwhelm whatever obstacles the system might bring against him.

’Like a fucking cancer… It’s a good thing that the core of this reality is problematic and thrives on the philosophy of the survival of the fittest. Technically I am following the paths the Primordials have laid down for all living beings. I am simply fighting to climb to the top.’

This unique state he found himself in was a result of cutting himself off from Chaos and reality, creating his own Space and Time, making him in essence an alien to everything around him.

Rowan shook his head in a self-deprecating manner, ’I sought to break out of the chains that bound me, instead, I broke out of reality. Is this the definition of overperforming?’

Although a part of his mind was focused on the oddity of his existence, a majority of his focus was on the hunt he was here for. The pupils of his eyes became a slit like a reptile and his perception swept through this space and he could not find Thenos, the corrupted titan had vanished. He had suspected that this titan was far more clever than he had let on, and it turned out to be the case. Thenos had not left his fate to the World Stele alone and had escaped at the earliest opportunity if he had been waiting inside here then this would have been a very short hunt.

Rowan took a step forward and he vanished, reappearing at the spot where he had sliced the infant in two and he could see a large pool of black blood and multiple unidentified organs that had teeth marks on them. The blood and the organs were filled with a thick stench of corruption.

Rowan bent and touched them, as he twisted time and space to show him the memory of what took place here not so long ago.

The moment Rowan was blasted out of this space, the two halves of Thenos’s body that had been struggling in apparent pain rapidly crawled to each other, with limbs bent and moving like a spider, Thenos pushed both sides of his body together, rapidly healing from the grave damage, his movements were fluid, and all signs of pain and madness before was gone and Rowan smiled when he realized that this newly born titan had nearly played him with his display of madness.

This child reminded Rowan of himself. That thought did not comfort him in the slightest.

Thenos’s wisdom must have awakened quite quickly and seeing the disadvantaged situation that he found himself in, Thenos must have been waiting for the right moment to escape or bend fate towards his favor.

In the memories of the past, Rowan could see that from the hundreds of eyes on Thenos’s bulbous head was the light of a frightening cold intelligence, and in the next few moments, he pushed his head to the ground and a sound of chewing from multiple mouths emerged.

The dozens of eyes that were touching the edge of this space had torn themselves open revealing gaping mouths filled with fangs and a long yellow tongue that was caked with reddish mucus, these mouths were slurping the blood and eating some of the organs that had fallen from his previously bisected body before they spat them out due to the corruption they contained.

Consuming these corrupted flesh was not the focus of those mouths because they were rapidly chewing through space and when a gaping hole was created, Thenos hesitated for a moment before he slipped through and vanished inside of it.

With a wave of his consciousness, Rowan gathered the remains of Thenos, keeping a small part for analysis and eradicating the rest, placing the tip of the destroyer on the exact spot Thenos had vanished, Rowan began to cycle through space and time until he accessed the precise coordinate that Thenos had accessed and he sliced his way out of this space.

As his body vanished from this space he did not forget to also collect another sample of it. The method the World Stele had used in its creation was extremely fascinating and he would like to decipher the process.

Rowan slipped through space and time and he found himself underground. His senses swept through this space and he saw that he was near the core of a massive planet. There was a smooth tunnel leading to the surface of the planet, likely the handiwork of Thenos.

Fumes of corruption filled the tunnel as Thenos was still ejecting the corruption filling his body and as Rowan’s perception swept his way through the planet, he was surprised that everything was tranquil, however, he knew that this would not remain the case for long, the corruption that was constantly emerging from the body of Thenos would soon reach the core of this world and then it would infect the World’s Consciousness.

At that time, everything would fall into madness and ruin, the perfect time for a Chimaera to feast. However, Rowan knew that Thenos was quite clever and it was possible that he was not here to feast on this realm, at least not before he rid himself of every strand of corruption inside his body.

There was a thriving civilization on the surface of this planet, and Rowan’s gaze swept through the billions of the inhabitants in a single sweep and he found his target.

His previous speculations turned out to be the correct ones, Thenos had not gone on a rampage and fed on the inhabitants of this realm, instead, the titan was doing something much more cruel, he was using the inhabitants of this world as a filter to rid himself of corruption.

Rowan did not find the trace of Thenos in a single position, instead he found it in billions of positions. Thenos had scattered himself inside the bodies of everyone here in this world and when Rowan emerged out of the ground and looked around him, he saw a thriving world that was about to end.
