Chapter 1484 Strange New World

Chapter 1484 Strange New World

In the blink of an eye, billions of demons were dead, their last cry rending reality around them for many light years, and the droplets of black ink that arose from their corpses gathered into an ocean that writhed like a living thing, spreading tentacles that reached for more prey. With every being that it consumed, it seemed to be becoming more aware as its motions were smoothening out.

With the scale of the black ink growing, the demons that began to fall to its grip were no longer lower-order demons, even Demon Princes and Demon Kings were swamped under a tide of black ink, to fight against its approach, their bodies blazed with so much infernal powers they resembled the core of dying stars, but it did not matter, they could not hold back this black ink for long for it ate energy and in such a prodigious manner that no matter how great the output of power from the demon royalties to combat its infiltration, it was not enough.

Their screams were louder and longer, for they were much harder to kill.

With the fall of demon royalties, a wave of unease began spreading through the ranks of demons, and in their typical fashion, they responded by attacking.

Abyssal energies of various shapes and colors tore reality apart as the void lit up with infernal energies, and a bombardment that would flatten an eighth-dimensional realm was blasted at the ocean of black ink.

Despite the large number of demons in the horde, their responses were frighteningly organized, spending many eternities battling for life, meant they were all great combatants and the powers they could unleash were among the pinnacle across creation.

This attack turned out to be an extremely bad idea. At first, the black ink began to shrink under the frightening amount of power being unleashed against it. From the size of a massive star, it was reduced to a tiny moon, and as the roar of victory against. an unknown enemy was rippling across the ranks of demons, the ball of black ink exploded.

At first, there was silence as a massive wave of ink drowned billions of demons, the speed of the ink’s explosion was so great, that it exceeded the limits that the Aether in the void could carry, and so it was as if reality had been plunged in silence, and then the screams began.

In the instant of its explosion, the size of the black ink almost quadrupled, and faint sounds like the cries of a realm began to emerge from it, that cries were like the sound of a billion infants wailing.

Pandemonium seized the minds of the demons, as the growing rot inside their midst was expanding almost exponentially, but it did not stop them from doing what they had been programmed to do from birth, they kept attacking.

In this instance, this turned out to be the right move, because while their attacks could not destroy the black ink, it could slow down its reach, buying them time to retreat, but their actions were like drinking poison to cure thirst, their attacks were only feeding this black ink, causing it to grow and push harder against their fading resistance.

Unlike the Great Abyss that were extremely conducive for demons, reality did not possess any Abyssal Aether for them to consume, making it harder for demons to

recover.

However, despite the vast and growing reach of the mysterious black ink, its impact on the horde of demons could still be considered to be extremely minimal. Of course, in a matter of seconds, billions were dead, with an increasingly greater amount falling as time passed, yet, barely three percent of the entire demon horde had been lost.

Unlike the Land of Miracle where only a few branches from the Primordial Tree of Life had been utilized by the inhabitants, the endless levels of the Great Abyss were all filled with demons, their numbers were so great it was impossible to be counted, and so when a tiny breach from the Great Abyss entered reality, the number of demons that could explode out of it in a short time would stagger the imagination.

Billions of demons were dead here, but the number of demons that escaped from the Abyss had been in the hundreds of billions.

If this break had happened anywhere else in reality, then the entire Primordial Domain usually led by the Celestials would descend on this horde and chase them back to the Great Abyss or the destruction they were capable of unleashing upon reality was almost inestimable to be measured.

In the center of the horde, free from the agitation of the horde was the Demon Lord surrounded by multiple Demon Emperors, he resembled a man with the head of a bird, the legs of a cat, and three pairs of arms that were shaped like the claws of a mantis.

Demon Lord Abruzul’s eyes swept through the horde, missing nothing, reality seemed to unravel under his gaze and his eyes slowly tracked through it until he found the source of the contamination, and sweeping one of his hands to the side, he cut it off. Noctis in the distance had been looking at the slaughter with the same blank look and a smile on his lips, when his eyes widened slightly and he collapsed, his heart stopped beating and his soul was shattered.

The relentless tide of ink that was drowning the demons halted, millions of massive tentacles that were reaching for prey retracted into the mass, and the black ink went dormant.

The demons’ lived existences that were nothing but pure horror, from the moment of their birth till their inevitable end, all they knew was battle and slaughter, their personalities had been twisted under this relentless barrage of extreme negative conditions that they were all sadist, and it took a special kind of demon to break free of the influence of their birth, and such a thing was so monumental that most who could achieve this state most likely become Demon Lords, and it was the presence of one such figure that changed what would have been a nightmarish slaughter to

victory.

Demon Lord Abruzul sent a message to the Emperors behind him,

“Gather that material, it possesses great corruptive abilities, offering it to the Great Abyss would increase my standing, especially as the end wars are coming. Also, gather the rabble and direct them towards…”

A sigh came from beside the Demon Lord, “I needed that you see, I needed to die. Now he is asleep, while I am awake, and what a strange new world I have awakened into.”
