The Primordial Record

Chapter 1571: Fate’s Origin

Chapter 1571: Fate’s Origin

He looked at his dimensional flesh and knew he could no longer hold on. He was like a ticking time bomb, and the ninth-dimensional power of Fate was crushing him to pieces.

“The only road to salvation lay in pushing deeper into the chaos. I will survive if I reach the seventh-dimensional level, and there is no use in delaying the inevitable.”

In the end, the decision that he made was quite simple. He was dying because of swallowing a power that was not meant for him, but if he stopped this process halfway, he would inevitably be crushed to pieces. He would just continue swallowing this power while adjusting along the way, and if he could totally grab Fate, then this ninth-dimensional power would be his foundation for survival.

With his dimensional flesh enduring the Tribulation of Fate, his soul was free to peer beyond the Tribulation’s barrier to the power he sought to acquire. His unique constitution allowed Rowan to be able to cheat this Tribulation, as he was pushing for the results while still enduring the process.

If he survived his Tribulation ahead, this would have been his prize, but Rowan was not willing to allow Fate to dictate his path forward, and his soul seized the power within it.

His eyes were opened to the truth.

The power of the Fate dimension above was too much for him to fully decipher. Its forms were countless, and it was not easy for him to go through all of them because each representation was a power at the ninth-dimensional level. In his present state, where he was on the verge of death, he could not afford to be too picky about the dimensional pathway he chased.

Rowan’s Will began to ascend, and the first to rise upon this revelation was the Will of Truth. This enhancement was what he needed to barely push past the final barriers holding back his sight.

His dimensional soul looked upon Fate and its many forms. However, he could not see much. He was able to cheat, but his capabilities were too limited to take full advantage of it. Rowan was satisfied with what he was able to do with the tools he had to work with.

He saw a Heavenly Die with nine sides, each part representing the endless mysteries that tied the lives of all things from their conception to their end. Rowan almost reached for it, but he suppressed this instinct and continued pushing on; this was one part of Fate and might not necessarily be the best one for him, so he moved on to the next.

In the next form of Fate, he saw a red thread whose length defied infinity, stretching across countless timelines and dimensions, reaching the past perpetuity to a place that Rowan’s perception could not touch.

This was the familiar form of Fate available in Reality where it took the form of a thread, and if Rowan accepted this Fate, then he would have an advantage in understanding it because it was close to what he knew, but there was still a bit of time to check for one last form of Fate before he made his decision.

When he saw this form, Rowan was glad that he had waited. He saw a massive glowing book, almost reminding him of the Primordial Record. In the minor glimpse he could see of its pages, he could see the records of countless lives, each page holding the entirety of a mortal’s or immortal’s life.

Immediately drawn to this representation of Fate, he decided that this would be the one for him.

This heavenly book drew his attention because of its familiarity with the Primordial Record. Rowan subconsciously discarded other representations of Fate and focused on this book. He knew this was his path of Fate, destined for him even before Time was born. The moment he mastered this book, he would seize his Destiny.

“Voryndar, keth’mir ulthar. Droth’vei neth’is zor’amal?”

“Truth Seeker. You seek the Spindle of Fate. The Lock of Ages. Yet many have been sundered before its edge. Are you worthy?”

The voice of Fate thundered once more, passing through Rowan’s dimensional soul and hammering down on his dimensional flesh, whose shape was now similar to a massive cloud made from stars and shattered dimensions.

Rowan frowned. The power of Fate was too domineering, and if it continued, Rowan would not survive its relentless query. This Tribulation was becoming more than a nuisance and was quickly becoming fatal.

The dimensional soul looked away from Fate, his gaze reaching Bahamut. Despite the unreasonable strain under which his dimensional flesh was, the beam of power from Chronomancer Prime had not been halted for a moment.

Every new droplet of Ether created was channeled towards maintaining his fragile hold over the Primordial Beast.

Rowan was hurting this beast, but if he wanted to use this method to defeat him, then it would be impossible. All of this was a delaying tactic to stall his opponent long enough for him to seize Fate.

The presence of Bahamut was growing stronger as this Primordial Beast roused himself from slumber, and the only way Rowan would keep up with the eventual explosion of power that would arise from a more powerful Primordial Beast was to reach the seventh-dimensional level.

A normal immortal reaching for the seventh dimension meant their understanding of their soul and consciousness had transcended the physical and spiritual realm, and across time, space, and memories, they could pluck themselves away from the threads of Fate.

Upon reaching the seventh dimension, every immortal of a higher dimensional level had this opportunity to hold the thread of their Fate, thereby making it harder for any outside power to interfere with their lives. However, what was happening here with Rowan was not the same.

It would seem that summoning the ninth-dimensional variant of Fate, which should be the proper form of Fate, granted him the choice to obtain what Rowan would describe as Fate’s Origin.

In the same way that his dimension of Space and Time was unique to him and did not share any relation with Reality, his Fate would not be tied to the dimension of Fate created by the Primordials.

With his decision made, Rowan’s dimensional soul took the form of a man whose size was beyond infinity. Raising his hands, he pushed them deep into the new heaven created by the presence of Fate as he called for the Origin that was meant for him.

His actions seemed to make Reality freeze, and the Primordial Beast screamed,

“Light! Memory! Are you going to stand aside and watch?!”
