The Imperial Guard Knights, along with the knights from the House of Brave, numbered in the thousands. While not a large number compared to the 200,000-strong allied forces, they were the elite of the empire.
"Can we transport this many to the royal capital?"
"We'll need to make a stop along the way, but yes, it's possible."
Responding to my father's words, I open a teleportation gate. One end connects to the Adventurer's Guild branch in the kingdom, and from there, another gate to the royal capital. This way, my father and his men can reach the royal capital.
My father nods and heads to the carriage, pulling out a black longsword in its sheath. It's the "Imperial Sword," long sealed away, adorned with imperial designs. It lacks the summoning abilities of a holy sword but is no less imposing.
As he sheathes it, my father looks around. The emperor rarely appears in the streets, and now he's fully armed, along with the Imperial Guard Knights and knights from the House of Brave. It's clear they're heading to war.
The citizens gather, some curious, some anxious, all watching my father, the emperor.
"Citizens of the Empire," he begins.
The crowd falls silent as he slowly unsheathes the Imperial Sword, revealing its pitch-black blade.
"Demons have appeared in the kingdom. We are going there as representatives of the empire. It will be a fierce battle, one where all of humanity on the continent will gather. As your emperor, I, Johannes, will lead the Imperial Guard Knights and participate."No one speaks. An eerie silence envelops the capital. My father raises the Imperial Sword.
"We have always stood at the forefront of humanity. If demons threaten human lives, we will protect them. Wait with peace of mind. The next time I return, it will be a triumphant return of victory. We will erase the nightmare of 500 years ago once and for all! I swear, as Emperor Johannes, we will win! And the empire will usher in a new era! Glory to the empire!"
The capital erupts in cheers. The emperor's personal involvement lifts the spirits of the people. And this is a battle to protect humanity.
"Are you coming, Silver?"
"I have something to do first. I'll follow."
"Alright, I'll wait for you."
My father and the knights enter the teleportation gate. Once they're all through, I look at the Adventurer's Guild branch in the capital.
"Aren't you going?"
"I feel awkward going with His Majesty..."
Chloe, who had joined the capital's branch to be ready for any emergency, pops her head out. She seems reluctant to join the emperor's entourage.
"In battle, there's no difference between an emperor and an adventurer."
"I know, but..."
I sigh and point at the teleportation gate.
"Are you going or not?"
"Wait... Fine, I'll go ahead."
Chloe enters the teleportation gate, and I close it, teleporting myself to the castle.
In my grandfather's room which contains a treasure trove of magical artifacts, I speak.
"Grandfather, may I use these?"
"Go ahead. You're going to give those demons a run for their money, aren't you?"
"Of course."
"Then make it spectacular."
I smile at my grandfather's grin and teleport, surrounded by countless magical artifacts, to the sky above the royal capital. The battle has already begun below. Reinforcements are arriving, but so are there sightings of more demons.
I begin to chant.
"Silver light, burn the heavens; silver stars, pierce the darkness."
Silver light envelops me.
"Darkness falls, heaven's silver shines."
My father is prepared to die fighting the demons.
"Gold dims in its presence, rainbows are swallowed."
As his son, there's little I can do. But as Silver, there's something.
"Shine, single silver light; darkness, bow and submit."
I won't let my family die.
"Silvery light, reign over me; to annihilate my enemies."
Silver light engulfs me. The enemy is numerous. So, I have to reduce their numbers. I'll use my trump card now, not later.
Finishing moves aren't learned to be saved; they're learned to ensure the enemy's destruction.
"Silver Force."
