Elna, with her Holy Sword unleashed to the third stage, and me in my Silvery Force state. Together, we're arguably the strongest tag team one could imagine. Yet, Asmodeus remained unfazed.
"Interesting. This might be somewhat entertaining," he said, rising into the sky. We followed suit, taking the battle to the air. The ground was too cramped for the kind of fight we were about to have.
"Here should be fine. I wouldn't want to accidentally involve my subordinates," Asmodeus remarked.
"That's quite confident of you," I replied.
"It's not confidence; it's understanding—understanding of my own power," he said, extending his arm towards us. A wave of dark energy shot out. I decided to counter it with my Silver Destruction Magic rather than a barrier.
Silver Lightning
My silver lightning clashed with his dark wave, creating a fierce struggle. However, it was short-lived. My magic began to lose ground. We dodged the wave, which swallowed up my Silver Lightning and continued into the distance.
"You should know, my power is 'Destruction.' Consider every attack from me as a one-hit kill," Asmodeus explained.
What an absurd ability. Even a simple attack from him overpowered my Force-state Silver Destruction Magic. He was an ultra-offensive type. There was only one thing to do: attack him relentlessly, giving him no chance to use his power. After all, we were confident in our own offensive capabilities.
"Go, Hero," I said."Don't order me around!" Elna retorted.
I launched six silver magic bullets to restrain Asmodeus's movements. Elna used this opportunity to close in and swing her Holy Sword. Asmodeus tried to catch it with one hand but quickly realized his mistake. Instead, he used his power of Destruction to parry the sword, just like he did with me earlier. But this was the third stage of the Holy Sword. He had to deflect it instead of catching it.
"Seems the Hero can do a bit, huh?" Asmodeus chuckled.
"Are you mocking me?" Elna snapped.
"Let him," I said, creating countless magic bullets. My role was to support Elna. It was more effective to enhance her attacks than to try to outdo her. Elna seemed to understand this as she moved forward without a word. I manipulated the magic bullets, not to attack but to restrict Asmodeus's movements. However, he ignored them and engaged Elna in close combat, restricting her movements with his fists imbued with the power of Destruction.
"Damn it! He's good at close combat too!" Elna retreated, glaring at me as if to say, "Do something!"
Asmodeus laughed, "Is that all?"
But suddenly, one of my magic bullets sent him flying. It didn't injure him, but it did break his stance. I grinned behind my mask.
"What's the matter? Is that the extent of your vaunted defense?"
I had varied the strength of my magic bullets. The one that hit him was a charged shot. It looked the same but was more powerful. I had snuck it in, expecting he would ignore it.
"Why didn't you do that earlier?" Elna complained.
"Sorry, I didn't expect you to retreat so easily," I replied.
"Fine, I won't back down anymore. Just give me some support!"
"I'll do what I can. Whether you trust my support is up to you," I said.
Elna didn't argue further. She understood the situation. If she had trusted me, our combination play would have worked.
"Heh, you're quite clever," Asmodeus chuckled as he regained his balance. To him, it was just a minor inconvenience. He wasn't injured, and his composure was unshaken. It was just a sneaky move on my part.
"Sorry, but I am clever," I said, moving my magic bullets again. A magic circle appeared right below Asmodeus, drawn by the bullets.
Silver Judgment
A silver flash shot up into the sky, engulfing Asmodeus. He was strong; we had to keep the initiative. That wasn't Elna's role. It was mine.
