The World Conquest: Giving Birth To Become A God
Chapter 823 - 823: Resuming The Trial of OriginSaying goodbye to his family, Maximus ventured deep into the heart of the Source of Knowledge.
Supported by its utmost strength and clarity, the Source of Knowledge could better help him face the Trial of Origin and ease his pressure.
“Old Origin, I’m here to take your trial! Come out!”
At his call, the Entity of Origin emerged from the depths of the Atrium of Law.
“You brat, are you finally ready to complete the trial? Or is this another half-hearted attempt?” the Entity of Origin asked, irritation lacing its voice.
Initially, it had believed Maximus was serious about the Trial of Origin, but time and time again, distractions always pulled him away.
Given his nature, the Entity of Origin expected it would be the same thing again.
“No, I’m serious this time. Furthermore, I have plenty of these…” Maximus said with a smile, revealing over a trillion crystallized Plane Origin.
“Did you extract those from the grass outside? Not bad. You should share some with us.”
As the Entity of Law, it was aware of everything happening in the Aeon Plane.
Seeing Maximus’s abundance of Plane Origin, it couldn’t help but request some.
“Why do you need Plane Origin? Don’t you already reside in the Atrium of Law?”
The Aeon Plane could naturally produce Plane Origin, although slightly less pure, the quantity should be sufficient enough.
The Primordial Origin Realm alone held a sea of Plane Origin; as the Atrium of Law, home to the Entity of Laws, should not be much different.
“I’m just asking. If you have extra in the future, it would aid the growth of the Aeon Plane.”
Plane Origin was like nourishment, fueling the plane’s development; naturally, the more they had, the better.
“In the future,” Maximus nodded in agreement.
He was confident he would claim the throne of the Aeon Plane, of course, providing it with nutrients to grow was expected.
“Alright, let’s begin…”
Not wanting to waste another moment, Maximus urged the Entity of Origin to begin.
Though he could take the test alone, it was inefficient and slow.
At his insistence, the Entity of Origin thrust Maximus into the Trial of Origin.
As his consciousness flowed into a new life, Maximus used the Plane Origin outside his body to accelerate the experience.
Epochs passed in a flash, yet only seconds ticked by in the outside world.
Watching the spectacle, the Entity of Origin couldn’t help but be stunned.
“Is this brat serious!?”
Seeing Maximus burn through Plane Origin like it was nothing, the Entity of Origin finally grasped his determination.
To counter the negative effects of the Trial of Origin, it typically used a few hundred units of Plane Origin to neutralize the impact of time.
To use dozens every second meant Maximus was enduring at least one epoch of trial per second.
“This brat must have lost his mind! You’ll be assimilated if you keep passing the trial at this rate!”
Plane Origin only shielded against the trial’s negative effects, not the positive ones.
Each epoch that passed tempered his Core of Origin like a hammer forging steel.
Usually, this was beneficial and even the central value of the trial, but too many strikes in a short time could shatter even the toughest steel.
“This must be just a fleeting burst of passion. This brat will calm down soon…” the Entity of Origin reasoned.
Knowing Maximus’s cautious nature, it didn’t believe he would be so reckless.
Yet days, months, and years passed, and Maximus still persisted.
As a result, his Core of Origin grew fatigued, causing visible fractures forming from overstimulation.
“Stop! Stop! You’ll die!”
Unwilling to let Maximus perish so foolishly, the Entity of Origin forcibly halted the trial.
Opening his eyes, Maximus frowned.
“What happened? Why did you stop the trial?”
“Are you out of your mind? Look at your Core of Origin and see what you’ve done!”
“Isn’t it just a few cracks. I know my limits. I’ll stop before I die.”
“Are you sure you’re still Maximus? Has someone possessed you?” the Entity of Origin said in puzzlement, investigating if he was controlled by someone.
Though it seemed minor, each crack in an individual’s Core of Origin brought pain beyond imagination.
Enduring such agony continuously, even if Maximus didn’t lose his mind to the Trial of Origin, the pain alone could drive him mad.
This wasn’t the fleeting pain from battle but a self-inflicted torment that couldn’t be numbed.
Even Atlas, the Son of the Plane, nearly went insane after centuries of such training under the Entity of Will, let alone Maximus.
Though he appeared clever and diligent, deep down, he was a lazy man who only acted when trouble arose.
Hmm? Act when trouble arises?
Finally realizing the urgency in Maximus’s demeanor, the Entity of Origin felt something was wrong.
“Did something happen outside?”
“What do you think?” Maximus gave a helpless smile.
The pain he was enduring paled in comparison to the terror he felt facing the Origin Dark Beast.
The suffocation, unwillingness, and despair seemed to crush his heart.
Maximus knew if he didn’t rise to the challenge, they wouldn’t even have a chance to escape.
Since it could sense even the omnis that adapted to dark energy, there was no way they could escape under its vision.
“What happened? Tell me!” the Entity of Origin demanded.
“It’s a Tier 13 dark beast—an Origin Dark Beast that grew inside a plane.”
“What?! That special dark beast that attacked us last time? Didn’t it die?”
“No, this one’s different. It’s fully grown and coming for us…” Maximus explained, projecting the image he’d seen through the Omnis.
“This—”
Gazing at the monstrous projection of the Origin Dark Beast, even the Entity of Law felt a surge of fear.
It seemed no matter how they struggled, they’d be crushed in its path.
“Now you understand… If I don’t endure this temporary pain, we’ll have nothing left…”
“You’re right…”
This time, the Entity of Origin didn’t hold Maximus back.
Rebuilding the Trial of Origin, it let him continue the trial.
