Chapter 2772 Lady Yeon's Master
Lin Mu ensured that Meng Bai was fine before hearing Daoist Chu speak.
"This is rather nice," Daoist Chu said, looking around. "You certainly didn't skimp out on anything, Lin Mu. These arrays are immaculate."
"I try," Lin Mu said modestly.
The entire courtyard was surrounded by a barrier that shimmered like a translucent bubble. To Meng Bai, the outside world was an endless void, an unfathomable nothingness. But Lin Mu and the others, their senses attuned to greater depths, could pierce through the veil. With his Spatial Perception, Lin Mu could directly observe the Spatial Channel and the infinite abyss beyond it.
"Oh, you even added rooms for us?" Daoist Chu soon noticed a new building in the courtyard.
"Yeah, with the time we'll be spending here, I figured you two would like them," Lin Mu replied.
"Nice!" Daoist Chu was pleased.
"Amitabha, thank you for the consideration." Monk Hushu clasped his hands together. "I shall go meditate." Without another word, he departed, his figure disappearing into the chambers.
"I'll go take a look too." Daoist Chu followed, half his mind already preoccupied with analyzing the complex arrays.
Just as Meng Bai was about to slip away, Lin Mu stopped him.
"Where are you going?" Lin Mu asked.
"To my room?" Meng Bai blinked innocently.
"Later. First, we're catching up on your missed training." Lin Mu smirked.
"Aww… okay." Meng Bai groaned, pulling out his spear.
Under Lin Mu's watchful gaze, the boy trained, his focus sharpening with each movement. With months of travel ahead, there was little else to do but prepare.
Meanwhile, far from the Jui World, in the endless expanse of space, another story unfolded.
Lady Yeon soared through the void, her breath ragged, her energy reserves running dangerously low. The vast darkness stretched infinitely around her, punctuated only by the occasional flickering of distant celestial bodies.
Clutched in her trembling hand was a talisman, its faint glow offering the only assurance that she was still on the right path.
"Not far now…" she whispered, her voice barely audible over the silence of space.
She had sacrificed much to reach this point. Injecting her personal coordinates into the teleportation tower had drained her immensely, but this matter was too dire to delay.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, she saw it.
A lone ship, suspended in the void.
It was distant at first, no larger than a grain of sand against the infinite blackness. But as she approached, its true scale revealed itself. The ship was colossal, an ancient behemoth drifting through space like a silent titan. Its five towering masts bore sails that shimmered with unfathomable energies, fluttering in an invisible wind. Millions of intricate runes pulsed across their surfaces, weaving complex patterns of power.
The ship exuded an aura that made even the bravest immortals hesitate. It was not mere Immortal Qi that radiated from its frame—no, this was something far greater.
It was Celestial Qi.
This was no ordinary flying vessel. This was a Celestial Treasure.
Upon its vast deck, three monumental buildings stood, their architecture a blend of elegance and ancient power. Figures moved across the ship, each one clad in robes that concealed their identities. Yet none paid her any mind, continuing their tasks with quiet efficiency.
Lady Yeon did not stop for pleasantries. She landed soundlessly on the deck, her steps hurried as she made her way into the grandest structure at the center.
Inside, she entered a great hall—a chamber of muted opulence, where time itself seemed to move differently. At the far end stood a throne, and upon it sat an old woman who looked as though she had lived for countless eons.
Her form was frail, draped in robes that had once been regal but now bore the weight of age. Wrinkles layered her skin, deep as river valleys, and age spots dotted her hands like remnants of forgotten constellations. A gnarled cane rested against the side of the throne, its wood darkened by years beyond reckoning.
Despite her appearance, an undeniable aura of authority clung to her like an eternal shadow.
Lady Yeon's breath hitched.
"Master…" she murmured before her legs gave out beneath her.
The old woman stirred slightly, but her eyes remained closed.
"You're back early," she mused, her voice a whisper of ancient winds.
"An urgent matter arose," Lady Yeon replied, forcing herself upright.
"Hmm… urgent?" The old woman's lips curled slightly, as if amused. "And here I thought you would not return until you had found a Dao Companion."
"That is why I'm here," Lady Yeon said, her expression grave.
The old woman's bony fingers drummed lightly against the armrest of her throne.
"And yet you return alone? Even after I divined the place where fate would intertwine your path with another?" Her voice held neither disappointment nor surprise, only curiosity.
Lady Yeon hesitated before answering.
"I thought I had found him… but he turned out to be more than that."
A silence stretched between them before the old woman lifted a hand, beckoning Lady Yeon forward.
"Come closer," she commanded.
Lady Yeon obeyed, kneeling before her master. The old woman's skeletal hand reached out, resting lightly on Lady Yeon's forehead. For several moments, she remained still.
Then she trembled.
Her breath hitched. Her fingers tightened involuntarily. Her milky, sightless eyes snapped open.
"This…" she whispered.
Lady Yeon met her gaze, an unsettling mix of awe and unease in her expression.
"I couldn't believe it myself," she admitted, voice barely above a whisper. "Not only is he terrifying, but he is surrounded by creatures with unimaginable fates."
The old woman remained silent for a long time, her aged mind processing the revelations she had just witnessed.

"Indeed," she finally murmured. "Those beasts… they are rarer than Celestial artifacts. Even in a million years, such creatures do not appear together."
She closed her eyes again, her expression unreadable. But Lady Yeon could tell—her master, a woman who had seen the rise and fall of countless eras, was disturbed.
