Chapter 1294: Section 1295 Gold
White Bear muttered to himself.
In the past, Angel had thought White Bear’s behavior was completely that of a charlatan, but after exchanging with Dororo, he came to know that White Bear was using such words to hypnotize himself, to make his own spirit more attuned to the sensations when interacting with the River of Fate.
Many Prophet Wizards had similar ceremonial methods, or they used certain items to enter a “trance” state, or they used language to hypnotize themselves. For some major prophecies, even more complex ceremonies were required.
Therefore, White Bear’s words were not meaningless.
As for Dororo, he basically did not have this trouble.
Although Dororo said that he also had similar small actions and rituals, at least Angel had not seen them.
After hypnotizing himself, White Bear took out his wand, and with a sense of ritual, proceeded with the prophecy calculation.
Strange energies diffused out from the wand.
Soon, the wand suddenly toppled, and White Bear opened his eyes.
“Did it fail?” Angel asked.
White Bear, “It’s not a failure, it just means that the owner of the Crimson Authority is not within a hundred miles. It seems he is not in Conniea.”
“What about King? Is he in Conniea?”

“I need to measure again for that.” As White Bear spoke, he picked up the wand. This time, he did not stand the wand on the table but pointed it directly into the air with a light tap, and an invisible ripple diffused outward.
Strangely, when the ripple passed around Angel, he felt nothing, as if the ripple did not exist.
“This is a sort of energy detection trick that can detect energetic life. However, if the other party intentionally conceals their aura, it is very hard to detect. Normally, an Apprentice would not constantly conceal their aura, so they should be detectable. But if the other person wears an alchemy item that conceals their aura, then it’s a different story. Just like you, Angel, you must have an item that conceals your aura on you, I cannot sense your energy fluctuations.”
White Bear glanced at Angel’s bracelet and took back the wand, “Within a two-kilometer radius nearby, I did not detect energetic life, it looks like we need to continue moving forward a bit.”
Angel directly handed the control of the Gondola over to White Bear, letting him figure out the positioning himself.
White Bear chose six test points in Conniea, encompassing the entire city of Conniea, including some outskirts. He drove the Gondola from one point to another, conducting energy detection.
Before long, White Bear confirmed an energetic life, “Found it, about two hundred meters to the north of the outskirts of Conniea, there is an energy response there!”
When they arrived at the northern outskirts of Conniea, they found it was a farm.
Despite the freezing cold, whether in the fields or the pastures of the farm, no life was seen, but the buildings of the farm shone with light.
“Is King here?” This time, Angel did not ask White Bear but turned to Sanders.
Sanders nodded noncommittally; he had already looked this way when White Bear locked in on the location.
Angel pondered secretly that White Bear had already prophesied that the owner of the Crimson Authority was not in Conniea, yet King was here, which also meant that King was not the owner of the Crimson Authority.
“In that case, I’ll go meet him.” Angel gestured for White Bear to stay on the Gondola, while he himself leapt out of the boat, dropping straight from the sky to the ground.
Beneath his feet, a dark golden light flickered, finally landing steadily on the snow-covered ground without a sound or stirring any snow dust.
After landing, Angel walked directly towards the farm.
Approaching the farm, even though light could be seen coming from a building in the distance, the farm had an inexplicable eerie feeling to it.
He looked around and finally set his eyes on a large warehouse. Judging by the shape of the warehouse, it seemed to be a place for storing dried fodder.
There were many buildings on the farm, but his instincts told him that there was something mysterious about this warehouse.
Without hesitation, he walked towards the warehouse.
He had only taken a few steps when a bit of snow dust suddenly landed on the back of his hand.
Looking up, he saw that the clouds in the sky had grown denser, and the daylight turned dark and heavy in an instant. The temperature began to plummet, and thick snowflakes, carrying a sense of oppression, began to fall.
The Gondola, stopped in mid-air, was now obscured by the clouds, making it impossible to see the details clearly.
An eerie farm, a lone visitor arriving, the sudden darkening of the sky, and the abrupt onset of heavy snowfall… A glint of profound light flashed in Angel’s eyes; this combination truly set a rather fitting scene.
Angel, without any hesitation, pushed open the warehouse’s door. Inside, the darkness was thick, and he could smell the cool, fishy breeze that flowed through.
He stepped inside, and had only walked a few steps when—
Bang—
A loud noise came from behind!
It was the open door behind closing again, at the same time a metallic sound rang out, and it was clear that even the door lock had been secured.
Angel, who had till now relied on the dim daylight from outside to observe the warehouse, was now completely plunged into darkness as the door locked.
In the quiet darkness, he faintly heard a laugh, ethereal and strange.
Angel did not move, standing still in his place.
A certain existence observing him in the dark flashed a dim light in its eyes, leaped lightly, and melted into the pitch-blackness.
Angel took out a fluorite from his pocket, the glow of which dispersed the darkness within a few meters. However, the sickly green light of the fluorite instead made the warehouse seem even more ominous.
As Angel lowered his head to examine the traces around him, a figure suddenly emerged from the darkness behind him.
And this figure was getting closer and closer to Angel, so close it was almost pressed against his back.
The light from the fluorite revealed the figure’s face, a woman in red with an extremely pale complexion and a mouth almost split to her ears, displaying a sinister smile. The sickly green light cast upon her face only added an extra layer of horror.
And that terrifying face was nearly resting on Angel’s shoulder, just a slight turn of his head would reveal the waterfall of black hair.
However, Angel seemed unaware of the weight on his shoulder as he fiddled with the fluorite in his hand and walked deeper into the warehouse.
The ignored woman in red looked stunned, her expression instantly twisted into an even more terrifying one. With a shrill scream, she extended her long, claw-like nails towards Angel’s back.
But just as her hand was about to touch Angel, she suddenly heard a sigh near her ear.
Before she could react, she was pushed forcefully backward by a powerful force, and with a dull grunt, she collided into a pile of hay in the warehouse.
“To pretend as undead, one should at least understand that undead do not deliberately scare people. They only think about how to kill the living upon seeing them, not scare them from behind,”
As the woman in red lay in the hay, the greenish light gradually shone upon her, and the man who had previously walked into the warehouse approached her, looking down from above: “Also, undead are fallen spirits, you, a living being posing as undead, aren’t you afraid of being ridiculed?”
The woman in red, having her true nature revealed, looked somewhat displeased as she stared darkly at Angel: “You’re not an ordinary person? What are you doing here?”
Angel scrutinized the woman in red. Aside from the previously feigned ferocity, the woman’s appearance was not bad, and her aura lacked murderous intent. This, along with the fact that she had never killed anyone, was why Angel did not strike her down.
Angel: “I’m here to find Jin, take me to him.”
“Looking for Jin?” The woman in red forced herself to sit up from the hay, dropping the sinister demeanor and instead scrutinized Angel, “Who are you, and why are you looking for Lord Jin?”
Without a word, Angel’s body surged with aggressive energy fluctuations.
Feeling the terrifying energy fluctuations, a shock flashed in the eyes of the woman in red as she slowly floated up, suppressing the erupting panic, and said to Angel, “Come with me, Lord Jin is beneath the warehouse.”
She was well aware that she could not deal with the person before her, maybe Lord Jin could handle him.
Still, she hoped they wouldn’t be enemies. If such a powerful foe were to battle with Lord Jin here, the only ones to suffer would be the mortals of the farm.
Angel was unaware of the woman in red’s thoughts. His agreement to follow her did not mean he couldn’t find Jin on his own.
It was just that after confirming Jin was not the master of the Crimson Authority, there was no need to be hostile, hence he was willing to follow the other’s rules.
In a corner of the warehouse, there was an underground chamber concealed by hay. Fresh soil on either side of the staircase indicated that it had only recently been excavated.
It was odd, why would Jin choose to reside here?
They soon arrived at the underground chamber.
To Angel’s surprise, the chamber turned out to be a natural cave.
Before stepping into the cave, laughter came from within, “I was in the midst of an experiment when I detected energy fluctuations above in the warehouse. I never expected it to be you.”
Following the sound, Angel looked forward to see a chubby man with a broad-brimmed hat standing by a pool of water, smiling and speaking to him.
Just like what he had seen in the water mirror image created in Suise, even the insincerity in the smile was strikingly similar.
However, what surprised Angel was that Jin seemed to recognize him and used a term of respect while addressing him.
He had not displayed his strength. In Jin’s eyes, he should appear to be a peak-level Apprentice. In this context, for the other to use a term of respect was somewhat strange to Angel.
“Are you Jin? Do you know me?” Angel asked, puzzled.
Jin nodded, still smiling, “Of course. I came to the Old Earth Continent specifically to find you. I sensed your alchemical anomaly earlier and rushed over, but sadly, I was a step too late. It has been a regret of mine, never expecting to encounter you here. And even more surprisingly, that you would come looking for me.”
