The dinosaur in front of me let out another roar at me before I portaled myself on its back to slash my swords through its neck, decapitating the dino.

I landed on the ground right as my newest kill crashed onto the jungle floor behind me.

Hmm… I think I’ve been out here for quite a while… And from the sounds that are coming from the direction of the fort, it seems like their fight over there was still ongoing.

All of them gave me a bow before returning to my shadow.

Hmm… Looking at the pile in front of me, it seems like I’ve hunted quite a number despite me not really trying that hard huh?

I don’t want to admit this to the girls but it feels like solo hunting by myself felt more efficient.

But if you were to ask me if I preferred hunting with the girls or just by myself, I would pick with the girls one hundred percent.

Because honestly, just doing it by myself felt lonely…

I already got used to them always being around me so I don’t think I can ever go back to being alone.

I went over to the loot pile and found my Shadow Guards had very helpfully laid out the ropes in a bundle so all I needed was to grab the end and start pulling them over my shoulder and the entire pile was moving along as a small mountain of heads and Mana Crystals behind me.

Oof… While I wouldn’t say this is heavy, this pile isn’t exactly that light either… Just how many dinos did I kill?

The fort was just a short distance away so it wasn’t that much of a bother for me anyway so I just sucked it up and continued dragging the pile behind me.

I couldn’t ask my Shadow Guards for help since I need to make it look like I actually killed all of these and brought back the materials myself.

The sounds of battle got louder and louder and I prepared myself to enter into a battlefield right up ahead.

As I pushed my way out of the jungle and into the clearing where the fort was, I found my girls standing around a field littered with dino corpses.

Katsuki spotted me immediately and appeared in front of me with a bow, “Welcome back Mistress.”

“Mmm… I’m back… Err… I see that you girls are done?” I commented.

Wait, if they’re done… Then the sound of battle… Ah, it’s coming from the other side so that means Sharille’s party was still fighting the monsters they lured.

On our side, it seems like the knights were even helping us with dealing with the monster corpses by dragging the corpses towards the wall to use them as additional fortifications.

“Erm…. Any trouble at all?” I asked.

Odeta jumped in before Katsuki could answer, “Of course not, Sister Aster! You missed out all the awesome parts where we beat up all those monsters! Ah, but it felt a little more dragged out because you weren’t here to buff us, Sister Aster! It would have been way easier if you were here!”

“Hmm… But it looks like you didn’t need my help though?”

“That’s not true, Aster,” Delmare appeared beside her. “We had to focus more on being careful and wasted a lot of time. If you had been here, we would have been able to deal with the monsters way faster and we would be able to fight at our full capacity if we had you to watch our backs.”

She’s saying that despite the fact that I’m seeing an entire horde of dead monsters on the field right now.

Sure, they also had help from the knights but I don’t doubt the girls had no trouble facing these monsters on their own at all.

Well… At least I don’t need to worry about the trope where I get kicked out of a party because they thought a support was useless I guess?

Then again, they’re my lovers to begin with so that most likely wouldn’t happen anyway.

More shouts and explosions came from the other side of the fort and I looked in that direction in concern, “Should we go and help?”

Lisa suddenly popped up beside me while hugging my arm, “We offered earlier but they said they had things under control. And it does look like they have it under control anyway.”

“Did they lure more monsters than you girls did?”

“They did not, Mistress,” Katsuki answered, completely sure of herself.

Oh…

“Then why are they taking longer to finish their fight?”

“It seems like they had the same idea as we did, Mistress. The leader had gone off to hunt them on her own while the rest of her party stayed behind to lure the monsters to the fort. And since their leader was a frontliner to begin with, they lost more firepower than we did.”

I see… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised she thought the same as we did.

I looked back at the pile of decapitated heads that I was dragging behind me.

Hmm… It looked like there were a lot before but now I’m not so sure anymore…

Like I said earlier, I wasn’t really actively trying to hunt as many as possible to begin with since I didn’t think Sharille was doing the same thing we were.

If she had been really trying, she might have gotten way more monsters than I did.

Well… At least the challenge didn’t specifically say that we will only count the monsters we killed in this first round. So even if they did have more than us this round, we can just hunt more during our next rotation to make up for it.

Right then, a really loud crash came from the other side of the fort and things suddenly went silent.

Seeing that there wasn’t any panic here, I assume the other side were also done exterminating the monsters on that side of the fort as well.

“White Dragon’s Sword Maidens?” Someone called out.

All of us turned in that direction to see a knight waving at us.

“We’re mostly finished up here so you can bring your things back inside the fort already.”

Oh, so the girls had already finished chopping up the monsters and gathered the Mana Crystals huh? They were just staying here to keep guard as the knights were moving the corpses. No wonder they were just standing around instead of cutting up the monsters and why I couldn’t see any decapitated heads or Mana Crystals around.

But still, it looks like there’s still quite a lot of corpses around so it’s clear the knight was just being considerate of us by telling us to go inside first.

“Mmm… It’s alright, we can help you move them to make things quicker. Just tell us where to stack them.”

The knight paused before nodding, “It would help us a lot. Thank you.”

Emilia suddenly popped up as well, “Are we getting paid extra for this?”

I bopped her on the head and told the knight to ignore her and just tell us what to do.

He started directing us to help move the corpses and both Odeta and I helped out since we had the highest strength here while the other girls kept watch.

It still took a while but we were finally done and I’m sure the knights would have taken longer without our help.

Odeta then went to help me pull my loot back to the fort while I returned to the fort with the others first.

When I stepped past the gate, I saw Sharille and her party already there waiting for us and I saw three distinct piles of dino heads and Mana Crystals with two piles behind them and the last one just beside the gate.

I’m guessing the one beside the gate belongs to my girls.

Judging by the size, it seems like their pile of loot was just slightly bigger than the one near us if combined together.

“Seems like we’re ahead of you for the first match, hmm?” Sharille announced proudly.

Well…

As if on cue, Odeta dragged in my pile of dino heads and Mana Crystals, which I now realised was roughly the same size as the one that my girls had gathered on their own.
