WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE ARE OTHER TRANSMIGRATORS IN MY HAREM FANTASY?
Chapter 990 - 990: If Only It Could Write ItselfIs there an easier way to write books?
They seem to have some kind of printing press here which involves making use of some kind of enchantment to ‘copy’ pages onto other pieces of paper so books aren’t that hard to make. But it wasn’t to the point that they are extremely cheap since it involved making use of specialised magic and equipment to print them.
At least it did help cut down on the production time so mass production was actually possible in this World.
But what that meant was that I still had to write the initial book by hand before they could ‘print’ it… Ugh… I’ve been spoiled by modern convenience that just the thought of having to write by hand feels like a daunting task…
The fact that I have been recording my notes and stuff using the [Screened] boon that actually gives me a keyboard to type with wasn’t helping me in the slightest.
Emilia was watching me with a concerned look on her face as I stared at the blank pages in front of me in the study while I clutched my head in despair.
“Umm… Boss? Is something wrong?”
“Ugghh… In my other World, we use a tool called a computer which eliminates the need for us to write by hand… Just by pushing buttons, I could have the machine write for me and they are even able to remove mistakes with a push of a button and I can see all my pages and notes without needing to flip through pages… It was so convenient… Now that I’m here, I have to write using ink and pen so the thought of it is depressing me…”
Emilia scratched her cheek, “Umm… Would it help if I get a professional to help write for you? You could just speak and they will write whatever you say. Then after that you just need to edit it if needed.”
I shook my head, “I would not trust anyone else to write my story for me but my… Self… Myself? Wait…”
I stood up from my seat and took a step back.
“Eins.”
My Shadow Guard appeared from my shadow and bowed, “Master.”
“You can see my memories?” I asked.
“Yes, Master.”
“You can write them?”
“If Master commands me to.”
…
Haha…
Hahaha…
Haahahahahahahaha!!!
Yes! Yes!! Yeeeeessss!!!
Zwei! Drei! Vier! Funf!
All of them appeared and bowed in greeting but I was already pointing at the table.
“Write the story! ‘To Tear Over A Tear’! We can start with that one! Call up more of you if you need to!”
“Yes, Master.”
The five of them immediately set themselves to work, all of them writing in their assigned papers without complaint.
I watched them work for a while, inspecting each of their papers from over their shoulders.
It seems like they were not lying about knowing the story because they were writing exactly what I had thought to write and the content was just as I had remembered it.
Furthermore, without any external communication, they had spread out the work amongst themselves so Eins was writing the first few chapters while Zwei was writing the next few chapters without their contents conflicting or overlapping each other.
Funf was already working on the final arc and conclusion of the story even though the rest of the story wasn’t written yet purely because she already knew how it would end based on my memories.
This is perfect!
And if this works… I could have even more of them work on even more of my books to be republished at the same time! This is the best idea I’ve ever had!!
My books are literally going to write themselves with this! Ahahahaha!
If only I had this ability in the original World, I would have written even more! I had so many ideas that I didn’t have the time or energy to write, but now this is no longer a problem! I could even just bring this part of my life back without compromising anything! This is perfect!!
Ahahahaha!!
“Boss… You’re scaring me a little…” Emilia interrupted.
Oh, whoops… Was I laughing out loud?
Sorry, but I couldn’t help myself since I’m really happy about finding this ‘cheat’.
I calmed myself down, “You have no idea how significant this is, Emilia. They do not need to eat or sleep and they know exactly what I want so I don’t even need to tell them anything for them to work!”
Emilia’s eyes suddenly turned into Crea symbols, “They don’t need to eat or sleep to work?! Boss! Can you spare me a few of them?!”
Unexpectedly, before I could even answer, Eins spoke up, “We will only work for Master and no one else.”
Emilia turned to frown at her, “Not even if Boss asks you to?”
Eins stopped writing to turn to me, “If Master requests it, we will obey. But we would like to remain working directly for Master instead.”
Oh wow… For them to make a request of me like that is pretty rare… So that means they really, really don’t like the idea of working for someone else…
The next surprising thing happened because Emilia backed down before I could say anything.
“Ah… If that’s the case, then forget it. It’s not like I’m short on workers anyway. I just thought it would be nice to have tireless and eternal workers who you don’t even need to pay~ But I can understand their desire since I wouldn’t want to work under another person either.”
Yeah, it is nice isn’t it?
I couldn’t help but reach out and give Eins a pat on her head just because of that while assuring her, “It’s alright then, you can just stay with me.”
Mmmm~ Her hair feels nice~ Pat, pat, pat~
Hmm? Is it just me or did Zwei and the others suddenly increase their writing speed?
I lifted my hand from Eins’s head and the furious scratching of their pens slowed down back to normal.
I patted Eins’s head again and the furious scratching sounds returned.
Oohh… So she likes that I see~ That’s cute~
Maybe that’s why she wants to stay with me instead?
Eins must have read my thoughts because she quickly bowed her head, “Thank you, Master. Allow me to return to work on your earlier instructions.”
She then turned back to start working on the story she was writing, her pen flying across the paper at an incredible speed as the words materialised on the pages like magic.
“How long will this take to complete?” Emilia asked, gesturing towards my Shadow Guards.
I turned back to Eins and she answered without looking back, “It should be done by tomorrow, Master. Unless you are in a rush, we can get more of me to work on it right now. Then we can be done in an hour.”
Oh damn… This is so broken…
“You know what, let’s do it,” I agreed before turning to Emilia. “But… I’d like some time to do a review of it first so I think we’ll set the completion time to tomorrow anyway. I want to make sure that everything is perfect if we’re going to sell this. There might even be a couple of things I want to change before publication. Speaking of which… How are we going to publish this?”
Emilia thought for a moment, “I have a few contacts with a certain printing house that we can use to print the book. Then I’ll run some advertisement campaigns in our stores as we sell them. What’s the target audience for this?”
“Young adults,” I answered immediately, since that was my target audience back in my old World.
“Hmm… But is it catered to the commoners or nobles? Only to Mahuns or other races as well?”
I hesitated a little at that since that wasn’t a question I was used to answering when it came to my books.
“Err… I guess commoners and… If other races don’t mind reading a story where all the characters are basically Mahuns… Then there’s no restriction. But if they do… Then it’s Mahuns.”
“Alright, for commoners what kind of lifestyle would be the main audience? The cityfolk or village folk? What about people from the Guild? Should we design it such that the book is easily transported and can be read while someone is travelling or is the story designed such that they are expected to sit down for a period of time to read the book?”
I blinked at her, all those questions hitting me like a ton of bricks as it just dawned on me how different the audience in this World is.
The isekai stories that I have written might not even sell well here because those stories are basically seen as ‘reverse isekai’ stories instead because those worlds would be exactly the same as the world they currently live in.
Shit… Ok… I might have to go back to the drawing board for a number of my stories now… I might even need to change some characters and some of the storyline…
It’s ok! I can adapt! Don’t worry!!
