When the Doctor Uses A Hack

Chapter 435: Sudden Accident!

On Saturday morning, Chen Cang got himself tidied up, donning the only suit and leather shoes he had worn for a job interview back then.

After checking himself out for three minutes in the Mirror and feeling quite satisfied, he set off.

The clothes from three years ago no longer fit; it seemed he had grown more robust since then, or had he grown taller?

“The British Journal of Surgery” still hadn’t responded, but having “Liver Transplantation” should be close enough. Combined with the concept conveyed by his two surgery videos, Chen Cang felt it shouldn’t be a big issue with the committee!

He had originally decided to go with Qin Yue, but Qin Yue told him mysteriously to go by himself, saying she might go later.

Chen Cang, having no choice, had to go alone.

On Saturday morning, the roads weren’t that congested.

The vastness of the roadway gave one the urge to floor the accelerator.

A Didi ride was hailed, arriving within two minutes — a Toyota Corolla. The driver was no spring chicken, well into his fifties. Seeing Chen Cang get in, he greeted with a cheery, “Young man, looking sharp! Off to a blind date?”

Chen Cang sat in the passenger seat, looked at the uncle, and couldn’t help but chuckle, “Do you think I’d have a high success rate on a blind date dressed like this?”

The uncle laughed, “With a smart look like yours, you’d succeed no matter what you wear!”

With that, both men laughed.

Ah, a beautiful day starts with a bit of harmless boasting.

This Corolla’s interior was rather feminine, with a few anime figures in the front, pink accessories and cushions — the disheveled uncle seemed rather out of place!

Could it be that this scruffy uncle harbored a Luo Tianyi in his heart?

Noticing Chen Cang’s curiosity, the uncle chuckled and explained, “It’s my daughter’s car. She’s off today, not working, so I took it for a spin to earn a bit of extra cash.”

Chen Cang nodded; such stories weren’t too rare.

However, this made Chen Cang ponder whether he should get a car of his own.

So he struck up a conversation with the uncle about it.

The road was less crowded than usual, allowing for a more relaxed drive.

However, just as the car was making a left turn, another vehicle zoomed past. The driver immediately yanked the steering wheel, and fortunately, they were not going fast. Nonetheless, the car skidded, leaving a black tire mark on the road, accompanied by the smell of burning rubber. Chen Cang and the uncle broke out in a cold sweat!

The uncle cursed, “Damn it, who drives that fast in the early morning? In a damn rush to be reincarnated!”

After steadying their nerves, they straightened the car and continued on.

But less than 50 meters down, Chen Cang spotted a red mark on a pedestrian crosswalk. His enhanced vision followed the trail and his expression abruptly changed.

He said to the driver, “Uncle, stop the car! There’s someone injured over there!”

The uncle was initially puzzled, but following the direction Chen Cang was pointing, he immediately saw two people lying in a pool of blood, with a little boy standing by.

The boy was prostrate on the ground, touching his mother’s face and crying his eyes out!

Chen Cang’s face turned pale at the sight.

The uncle hesitated, glanced at Chen Cang and said, “Call 120… if you go over now… this isn’t…”

The scene was extremely bloody.

One person lay on the ground; another was in the green belt in the middle of the road, seemingly flung there. The little boy lay atop the woman at the roadside, wailing bitterly, the condition of the people on the ground unknown.

Seeing this, Chen Cang’s complexion changed starkly, and recalling the speeding vehicle from moments ago, something clicked in his mind!

Hit-and-run!

Chen Cang hastily went to open the door, but after pulling on it, he found it was locked. He became anxious and said to the driver, “Uncle, please open the door. Don’t worry about us; just let me out and take care of the fare yourself!”

The uncle appeared somewhat bewildered. Who could have expected such an incident?

He seemed utterly befuddled!

Chen Cang became urgent, “Hurry up and open the door! I’m a doctor!”

The driver was startled, but quickly came to his senses and said to Chen Cang, “Okay! Get out and check on the people first!”

After saying this, he pulled the car over to the side of the road, turned on the hazard lights, and got out!

Chen Cang raced to the side of the woman by the roadside. At that moment, the woman had a huge gash on her abdomen from which blood was actively gushing. Chen Cang’s complexion changed—a massive hemorrhage in the abdominal cavity… It might have damaged the spleen!

A ruptured spleen?

Definitely not just that!

Upon this realization, Chen Cang’s expression changed!

He didn’t hesitate to take off his suit jacket and press it onto the woman’s body to stop the bleeding first!

Then he turned to the driver and said, “You call 110 to report the accident! I’m calling 120 for the ambulance!”

The uncle swallowed hard, determination filled his eyes. Thinking of the hit-and-run driver, his eyes blazed with anger!

He hurried to call for help!

Meanwhile, Chen Cang dialed the number for Old Yang, the driver at Province Number Two Hospital’s emergency department!

Contacting 120 was too troublesome at the moment, and since they were less than two kilometers from Province Number Two Hospital, it was quicker and more convenient to call Old Yang directly—perfect!

The call was quickly answered.

Chen Cang urgently shouted, “Master Yang, come quickly to Dongdiao Street, at the intersection by Xuyang Square—the pedestrian path from before… Yes, there’s a cinema. Hurry, two people were hit by a car and thrown into the air; we don’t know if they’re alive or dead. The driver fled the scene. Mm-hmm, I’m waiting for you! Oh, and tell the nurse and the on-duty doctor to come too!”

Old Yang spoke with few words, “I’ll arrive in 3 minutes!”

His response was brisk and decisive, typical of Old Yang’s character and style. After hearing this, Chen Cang felt reassured!

He knew he had to get through these perilous three minutes!

After hanging up, Chen Cang used his left hand to press down on the woman’s bleeding forehead wound, while his other hand pressed against the pulsation of the carotid artery, observing her breathing…

The breathing was very faint, as was the carotid pulse!

Chen Cang’s anxious heart eased a bit because… at least she was still alive!

Applying pressure to stop the bleeding was the only effective method at this moment. The patient’s massive abdominal bleeding, at such a rate, would not take long to cause hemorrhagic shock, or even… death!

As Chen Cang held the wound, he shouted across to the uncle, “How is it, uncle?”

The uncle shook his head excitedly, “Alive! Still able to speak!”

Chen Cang’s expression brightened as he yelled to the uncle, “Come over here first; I’ll go and check on her!”

At that moment, the little boy lay on the ground, indifferent to being covered in blood, his hands trembling as he touched his mother’s face, and he was crying with snot and tears flowing down.

“Uncle! Please save my mom, I beg you, please save her!”

Chen Cang looked at the little boy and nodded, “Alright, I promise you! Now get up, don’t move your mom!”

Chen Cang was now concerned that the woman might have suffered a spinal injury, which also had to be considered.

Upon hearing Chen Cang’s words, the boy immediately stood up and stepped back!
