With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods
Chapter 1138 - 1138: Absolute defense (2)Once he confirmed what Uri was capable of, Lin Fan naturally wanted to test it as well.
So he turned to Dungeon Core 563 to say, “Attack me.”
Dungeon Core 563 looked at Lin Fan with a strange look, but in the end…
“Die!” She shouted as she released her attack.
There was a part of the emotions that she was hiding that came out when she released this attack. There was a real part of her that came out even though she had done her best to hide her true feelings.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything as he raised the hand with the mark on it.
When he did, there was a light that came from it and nothing else.
There was even a moment where Lin Fan thought that Uri had tricked him.
But then the attack was stopped by something that was in front of him.
He was surprised to see this, but it didn’t take long for him to realize what it was that stopped it.
As Uri said, this was the power that he wielded. This was the power of his absolute defense.
As for why he didn’t sense it, it was because this was the power of a god. It was at a level that was higher than what mortals could sense.
The only reason that Lin Fan could tell that it was there was because of his spiritual sense. His spiritual sense gave him an idea of what the power that was released from the mark was shaped like.
It was a dome that was around him that completely protected him.
His spiritual sense wasn’t able to pass through this power, just like the power that had cut his spiritual sense off from entering the room earlier. It seemed that even though he was the one that was creating the barrier, he still wasn’t able to penetrate it with his spiritual sense.
As Uri said, it really was absolute defense.
There was nothing that could come in and out of this barrier.
While Lin Fan was using his spiritual sense to test the barrier, Dungeon Core 563 looked like she was sorting through something as the expression on her face changed.
Then all of a sudden, she released another attack.
Or rather, it was better to say that she suddenly released a barrage of attacks at the barrier around Lin Fan.
It seemed that she couldn’t believe that her attacks wouldn’t be able to penetrate the barrier, so she was determined to break through it just to prove herself.
But the only thing that happened in the end was that Dungeon Core 563 exhausted herself.
It didn’t matter what attacks she used, she just wasn’t able to break through the barrier at all. At the same time, with the way that she was trying to catch her breath, it really seemed like she had used everything that she had.
Well, perhaps not everything since there were a few tricks up her sleeve that she kept in case she was in real danger. However, most of what she could use, she had already used against this barrier.
Lin Fan couldn’t help raising a brow to look at Dungeon Core 563.
It wasn’t that he minded her attacking with such fervor since he was the one that asked her to attack in the first place. It also wasn’t the fact that this barrier was this strong since this was a barrier that was created with the power of a god.
What surprised Lin Fan was the power that Dungeon Core 563 wielded.
Each of the attacks that she released was at the level of a Golden Core Cultivator.
With the way that she combined those attacks together to create a combo, even normal Golden Core Cultivators wouldn’t be able to resist this attack.
It seemed that she had invested quite a bit of DP in strengthening herself.
Though that was normal since she was going a different path from normal dungeon cores.
The path that she took required her to have this kind of power.
Lin Fan thought that it would be over once Dungeon Core 563 exhausted herself, but that didn’t seem to be the case as she called over the rest of her party.
“Attack it!”
As soon as she said this, the rest of her party didn’t hesitate to use their own abilities to attack the barrier. With the looks on their faces, it seemed like they had just been waiting for her to give them this order.
It seemed that they were interested to see just how strong this barrier was for themselves.
But there wasn’t anything that they could do to the barrier.
Lin Fan just watched them with a bitter smile on his face before shaking his head to give a sigh.
When they were all finally done, Lin Fan said, “Alright, thanks for helping me test it.”
Dungeon Core 563 and the rest of her party looked at Lin Fan with scowls, but they were just too tired to complain. They seemed like they couldn’t even catch their breath with how they were panting.
That just went to show just how seriously they had taken this job of hitting the barrier.
Or how much it meant to them to be able to break through it.
Lin Fan just let them catch their breath as he asked Uri, “How long does it last? I could feel that it was fluctuating during this time, as if it was slowly losing power.”
Uri seemed to have expected this question as he answered, “Of course there’s nothing in this world that can last forever. This barrier is generated from my power and even a god only has a limited supply of divine energy. At most, that barrier can be maintained for an hour before it has to be recharged.”
“Only an hour?” Lin Fan couldn’t hide the trace of disappointment in his voice.
Uri gave a chuckle as he said, “This is a barrier that can block all things in the mortal world, how could it last forever? Not to mention, this is how much divine energy your body can take without breaking down. If I supply more divine energy than that, your body won’t be able to take it.”
A bitter smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this before he said, “Then if I become stronger?”
“You can use it for longer.” Uri finished his sentence.
Lin Fan couldn’t help asking, “Then what was that about you having to recharge your power? Isn’t it dependent on how much of your power that my body can take?”
Uri tilted his head before saying in a cute manner, “That is a show of the upper limit of the barrier. I just want you to know everything about this power of mine.”
Another bitter smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face, but he chose not to say anything else.
After all, what Uri was saying in an indirect manner was that he was calling Lin Fan weak.
But Uri also didn’t mean to say it like this.
The way that Uri acted most of the time was as if he was some kind of child, so the words that came out of his mouth were without malice. If he said something like this, it was like how a child would say something without any ill intent.
That was why Lin Fan didn’t take the things that Uri said to heart.
Instead, he changed the topic by asking, “Then the statues that you had me take away. How long will they last?”
“Those can only store a certain amount of my divine energy. Once they run out, they run out and will need to be recharged. There’s no need to do anything to recharge them since they were connected to me as avatars, but they won’t be able to release a barrier while they are recharging.”
Lin Fan shook his head with a faint smile before saying, “Then how long does the charge last.”
Uri thought about it before saying, “If you were to hit it, it would last for around a day.”
So a Golden Core Realm Cultivator could keep it going for a day…what about a Transcendence Realm Cultivator?
If it was enough to stop a Transcendence Realm Cultivator, then Lin Fan was planning on putting them around the Love Sect and Dungeon City.
But he stopped himself from asking this since this wasn’t the place to ask these questions.
He would wait until he wasn’t in front of Dungeon Core 563 and her party to ask these questions.
Since he had finished testing out this new power, Lin Fan decided that it was time to leave.
But before leaving, there was one more thing that he had to ask Uri.
“Is there anything else here that we should take a look at?”
Uri didn’t answer right away when he heard this.
With the way that his expression changed, it seemed that there was something that he was thinking about.
But in the end, Uri said, “No, there’s nothing here.”
The way that he said this was the same way that a child would speak when he was lying to an adult.
Only Lin Fan didn’t call him out on it in the end.
If this was something that even Uri was hesitating over, then it wasn’t something for him.
It was a good thing that Uri was friendly, but if it was something that wasn’t as friendly as Uri…
Well, they weren’t gods.
They just couldn’t handle these things, even if Lin Fan had gained power from Uri.
This should be something that was left for the future.
