Armipotent

Chapter 1926 - 1926: Team Reds 2.0 (3)

Robin was part of Alves’ team, and it was known that Robin was Alves’ best friend. The reason why he was willing to go first was to help out Alves. Everyone who attended this sparring match already knew that the five knights were of the God Rank. They could tell it by a single glance, but they still did it to test them out. They wanted to find out how strong these new people were.

Unfortunate for Robin, as he found it the worst way, he experienced the wide gap between him and the knight. The first one was a surprise, and as Jovrick said, Robin did not use his full power in his first strike, not with the second one.

Robin fell into Jovrick’s provocation and launched his lethal attack. It was fast and deadly, but Jovrick blocked all the swords all the same. The worst part was that Jovrick defeated him in the same way, again. His sword was blocked by the shield in the same way, but this time, he felt something sucking his sword, keeping his sword stuck to the shield before his body flew backward again when Jovrick pushed him.

In the following moment, the same lance was one centimeter away from his left eye. This was a showing, not to him, but to the Mercenary Guild. Robin was well aware that Jovrick did not mean to humiliate him, but the target was the Sorcerer Mercenary Guild Leader. He was just a victim here.

Jovrick returned to the same position, “If you have some doubt, you can switch my opponent.” As he said that, he glanced toward the Sorcerer Mercenary Guild’s group.

“No, that’s enough!” Alves’s calm facade cracked as he entered the barrier while announcing the result. It meant Jovrick had proved that he was a God Rank. He rushed toward his friend to check on Robin.

“I am fine…” Robin’s eyes moved toward the remaining four knights. The remaining four knights appeared to be less intimidating than Jovrick, but he had an inkling that they were similar in strength to Jovrick.

“It’s indeed enough. Pitting sorcerers against me is quite unfair for the sorcerer,” Jovrick nodded in agreement as he walked back toward Tang Shaoyang.

Hera’s face turned ugly when she heard the provocation, but she was calm enough not to fall to the provocation. However, her eyes were glued to the remaining knights. There was something off with these knights, but she could not pinpoint what was wrong with them. She guessed Jovrick might be the strongest one between the five, but it was hard to guess because these knights did not reveal any aura until they fought.

Mathias, Nikolas, and Ruben ignored the gazes on them. They were discussing who should go after Jovrick.

“We are supposed to fight the Void Creature, not people like them, Commander Mathias! Commander Nikolas!” Ruben was forced to take up a fight because he was merely a normal soldier until he died. His rank was lower than the two, and he must listen to their order, not must, but it was something he was used to as a soldier. Such a habit stuck with him even after he became a spirit, which showed how strict and disciplined the Hurakan Legion was. Even though they were from a different era, Ruben could not help but listen.

“We are no longer part of the Hurakan Legion, soldiers! We are serving a new master, and we only follow our Master’s order if you want to continue fighting the void!” Nikolas pushed Ruben into the barrier.

Ruben was reluctant until someone pulled him out of the barrier. The Hurakan Commander II, Gianni, pulled him out, “I will take the second one, Soldier! But you need to change your attitude, Soldier. You are no longer part of the Hurakan Legion. You will only listen to your Master’s order from now on!”

Gianni put his helmet on and entered the barrier. As he entered the barrier, seven spears appeared behind him, floating, sticking in different directions.

“I will not waste your effort, Sir Jovrick. We will show them how lucky they are for the Master willing to go this far for them!” He said that as he passed Jovrick. The latter responded with a grunt of approval.

Alves brought his friend out of the barrier and then turned toward his people, the God Rank from his mercenary guild, who agreed to test out the newcomer, Albert. Albert wielded a similar weapon to Gianni, a spear.

“Do we really need to test them out? I think it’s very clear they are all God Ranks,” Albert finally said after Alves stared at him deeply.

“You promise me to help,” Alves did not plan to stop here, even though he knew the result already. He wanted to continue to see how strong these people were. He wanted to have some evaluation, a picture of how strong these people were. They had gone this far, so he wanted to get this to the end.

“I promise to help, but I also don’t want to be humiliated like Robin. The last part is not in our promise, Alves.” Albert shook his head, “I am sorry, Alves. The thing you offered is just not worth casting a dark shadow for the rest of my life.”

Albert lost nothing from the fight, but he would forever remember his loss, and it might become a nightmare for the rest of his life. A God Rank was thrashed by a God Rank? It sounded ridiculous, but it happened, and without a doubt, it would be a nightmare for the rest of his life, a shame he could not get rid of even if he wanted to. The rest of the God Ranks from The Raven Mercenary Guild agreed with Albert.

Alves let out a sigh as he could not really justify forcing Albert or the others to fight after witnessing Robin’s fight. He tried to think of a way to send them to fight the second knight, at least for the second knight, because he would step in for the third. Three fights should be enough to use as a sample to measure how strong the remaining knights were, or even how strong Tang Shaoyang was.

“I am ready!”

Gianni announced that his opponent had not come out to face him yet. He purposely showed his weapon, telling them what kind of weapon he would use in a fight so they could send a great match-up for him. But no one came to face him yet, and it was too long considering how fast the first opponent stepped out to fight Sir Jovrick.

“Can I fight him, Alves?”

To everyone’s surprise, Hera stepped into the barrier, especially Alves. The Sorcerer was known for their devastating spell in a war because they could take the whole army with just one spell. However, it was known that a Sorcerer would be weaker in a one versus one fight. Especially when they fought the person in the same rank.

“I will not stop you from taking a fight, Hera,” Alves was glad that Hera was willing to take one fight for him. He could guess what was in Hera’s mind, the same as what was in his mind, the same curiosity.

Hera had a cold smile. “As you know, I am a Sorcerer. It might be hard for me to hold back with my spell.”

Gianni kept his expressionless visage, “You don’t need to mind my safety, Guild Master. You can use whatever you want, and I will make sure to hold back so as not to kill you accidentally.”

Alves stepped into the barrier, standing between the two. He stepped backward, closer to the barrier, after confirming both sides were ready.

“Start!”

He stepped out of the barrier as soon as he shouted start.

Hera activated spells as a massive magical circle formed in front of her. The magical circle was twenty times larger than Hera herself. Without a doubt, it was a powerful spell. For a moment, Alves was worried about the knight’s safety.

Hera never could cast her spell as a spear pierced through the magical circle, breaking it apart. The spear did not stop there; it flew so quick and pierced Hera’s right thigh. The spear brought Hera down as the spear stuck in the ground.

“ARRRGGHHH!”

She screamed in pain, and her heart was racing. She was about to pull out the spear from her thigh when a shadow loomed over her.

Gianni was right in front of Hera, standing still, not even pointing his spear at her to claim his victory.

“No matter how strong your spell is, it’s useless if you can’t cast it. Sir Jovrick mentioned earlier that it would be unfair to you if you fight us. You should choose another God Rank to test me.”

The atmosphere turned tense as four God Ranks from The Sorcerer Mercenary Guild were ready to join the fight. They were ready if Gianni made a move against Hera.

Gianni reached the spear and pulled it out from Hera’s thigh. She screamed even louder, but Gianni threw a vial of healing potion to her, “That’s a potent healing potion from My Lord. That will heal your wound instantly, and let’s continue the fight. This time, I will give you time to cast your spell.”

Hera, of course, knew she was at a disadvantage in a one versus one fight against the same rank. She was well aware of that fact because of her class. However, she was confident in her casting speed, hence she volunteered to fight. There was a chance for her to lose, but not this way, not the way Robin was defeated.

She reached the vial and gulped it down. As the knight said, the hole on her thigh instantly healed. She stood up and saw her opponent had returned to his original spot. Hera did not waste her time and cast another spell.

The massive magical circle appeared again, a little bit different than the previous one. It took her three seconds to activate the spell. A wave of a tsunami came out from the magical circle, an almost fifty-meter-high wave coming out and washing toward the knight.

The barrier cracked, but her people immediately reinforced the barrier to keep the tsunami inside the barrier. It would be a disaster if the tsunami broke the barrier.

Gianni remained calm in front of the disaster. He grabbed one spear from behind him, and the spear was spinning crazily in his hand. He directed the spinning spear toward the incoming disaster. Instead of spreading out and blasting him, the water moved weirdly, as if the water was directed toward the spinning spear.

The ferocious tsunami concentrated on a single point, toward the spear. As the water reached the spinning spear, it disappeared. There was no impact or so whatever, as if the spinning spear absorbed the water. It lasted that way for a few minutes until the tsunami disappeared.

Gianni shook the spear away and looked toward Hera. The latter had disbelief in her face, and could not believe her spell disappeared like that.

“You can cast another spell if you are not convinced, Guild Master.”

Hera fell to Gianni’s provocation and cast another spell. As soon as the magical circle appeared, the God Ranks from the Sorcerer Mercenary Guild changed. They canceled the barrier, and all of them rushed toward Guild Master Hera.

“That’s enough, Guild Master!” They all called her out. They seemed to recognize what kind of spell their Guild Master would cast.

“Are you going to destroy the Sorcerer Monarchy!? The barrier would not be able to hold your spell! And it might not be able to kill that damned knight!”

Hera snapped out and immediately canceled her spell. Her chest heaved up and down as she tried to calm herself down. Even though her pride didn’t want her to admit defeat, she knew she had lost the moment she fell to the knight’s provocation. No one won if she cast her last spell.

“There’s no need to continue the test, Alves. I agree for them to join the mercenary guild!”

Aella was anxiously waiting for Tang Shaoyang in the guild lobby. She wanted to follow them, but the Guild Master stopped her because the test would remain a secret to the guild members. She was ready to wait for them all day, as she thought it would take that long for a God Rank test. To her surprise, Tang Shaoyang came down from upstairs in half an hour.

She could not say anything as Tang Shaoyang shared a screen, a team screen, with her.
