Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground
Chapter 1122 - 1122: GuidanceElderish stared at Atticus with a stunned expression.
“What have you done?”
Just seconds ago, Atticus’ aura had been far more immense than what now surrounded him.
Not only that, his form had changed, he had grown shorter, and his presence had diminished. But to Elderish, that wasn’t what stood out most. It was his eyes.
Those ancient yellow eyes that once felt like he was being stared at by a being with timeless power had vanished, replaced by slit-like irises swirling with varying colors.
And then there was the light, that streak of radiant energy that had erupted from Atticus’ body moments ago. Elderish didn’t need to be a genius to understand.
Atticus had released his bond.
Despite his question, Elderish received no answer. Only that cold, calm stare.
But Elderish couldn’t stop himself. His voice rose, filled with disbelief.
“You’ve doomed this world! And for what? For people who will one day die and leave you behind?! Can’t you see it? You’ve soared beyond them, far beyond what any of them will ever become! And you will continue to soar! Why would you throw it all away for them?”
He couldn’t understand. He refused to understand. Elderish had seen where Ozeroth had gone, the human domain. He knew the reason. There could only be one.
Atticus had chosen his family.
That realization scorched Elderish’s soul. Atticus couldn’t win against him alone, and yet… he had still sent Ozeroth away.
He had chosen his family over the fate of the world. Chosen the ones who would only weigh him down… over the future of Eldoralth itself.
“Atticus,” Elderish growled, “they’ll only hold you back! You’re destined to outlive every single one of them. Don’t throw away your greatness for a fleeting moment of happiness! I’ll hold back for just a few seconds. Bring your spirit back!”
‘How selfish.’
Atticus wasn’t one to speak much during battle. And so, he kept his thoughts silent.
Still, he had never heard anything so absurd in his life. Elderish was pretending to care about his future, but Atticus saw through the farce.
This wasn’t about him. This was about Eldoralth. The man was scared. If Atticus fell here, there would be no one left capable of saving Eldoralth. The planet would fall with him.
Atticus knew this. Still, he said nothing.
He just tightened his grip on his katana, bracing every inch of his being for what was to come, the most grueling battle of his life.
Elderish’s killing intent exploded outward, swallowing the sky. His voice boomed, sounding desperate.
“You need to make the right choice! Don’t you want to know your origins? Who brought you to this world?!”
Atticus’ eyes sharpened.
“Bring back your spirit,” Elderish pressed, “and I’ll tell you everything as we fight.”
“…No.”
The answer came instantly.
The information was valuable, crucial, even. But Atticus wasn’t going to trade his family’s lives for it.
Elderish’s face twisted. The gentle gaze he once had crumbled into pure hatred.
“A waste,” he spat. “All this power… this talent… wasted on a narrow-minded child!”
His aura erupted like a geyser, crashing down onto Atticus like a falling mountain. The force knocked Atticus down in midair, forcing him to stabilize quickly.
His gaze, still frigid, cut through everything.
“A waste! A complete waste!” Elderish roared. “You need guidance. I’ll tear those weaknesses away. Then… then… you’ll see clearly!”
At those words, Atticus’ eyes widened.
Weaknesses? His family?
‘Don’t tell me…’
There was only one thing Elderish could mean by that. The Gardener’s order had always been to kill them all, but he’d never said who to kill first. Which meant… Elderish could go after anyone.
He could go after them.
Elderish spun, his cold gaze shifting toward the human domain. His body tensed… he was about to move.
But then the air tore open.
A thunderous rip split the sky as a katana, blazing with spiraling energy, plummeted toward Elderish like a divine verdict.
Elderish’s eyes snapped sideways, locking onto it. His gaze narrowed as it met Atticus. This… this attack was different.
Atticus’ strikes were usually clean. Precise. Calculated. They always carried a sense of purpose, like the first step in a larger sequence. But this… this reeked of desperation.
Atticus had poured everything into this one strike.
His Will roared like a cloak around his body. All of his elements blazed in unison, twisting into a wild cyclone around his blade.
His fourth katana art had activated, compressed to its limit, forming a dense, swirling mass of fusion energy.
There was no doubt.
This was full power.
And against it… Elderish scoffed.
He raised his arm, and multiple energies from the diverse races he had devoured ignited around him, weaving through the air in harmony.
With a swift motion, Elderish thrust his hand upward, meeting the strike head-on.
An explosion was birthed the very moment their powers clashed, an eruption so violent it tore through the skies, ripping it open like fabric.
The shockwave detonated outward in a spiral, shredding clouds, scattering winds, and darkening the sun above.
It slammed violently into the Aeonians’ aegis shield. The impact caused a tremor that swept through their entire domain.
Buildings crumbled. Towers split. Structures collapsed like cards in a storm as citizens screamed and scrambled for safety amidst the chaos.
Ae’zard and the other paragons had already taken to the skies. Their auras exploded around them as they tried to withstand the recoil from the shockwave.
But even with the aegis shield having blocked the majority of it… the residual force alone was overwhelming.
An intense fear surged through their bodies.
But the Aeonians were not the only ones affected this time.
The Vampyros, the Elves, the Demons, domains bordering the humans and Aeonians, had activated their aegis shields the moment the Aeonians did. And it had been the right move.
The shockwave struck them too, rippling across their lands, shaking mountains, and sending people running in terror as the cities trembled under the pressure.
The people looked up at the crimson sky, eyes wide, hearts frozen. To them, it was as if the apocalypse had begun.
Their paragons hovered above, watching from behind their shields with dread. The distance made it hard to see exactly what was happening… but one name echoed in all their minds:
Atticus Ravenstein.
In every domain, the order was the same:
“Maintain the aegis shield. Do not bring it down. No matter what.”
