Death... and me

Chapter 3442: Time to Meet

Chapter 3442: Time to Meet

Those ten years also brought the next Divine Snow Mountain Sect recruitment season. This time around, over ten thousand made it through, a number that seemed to be increasing with each recruitment.

Ten years soon became twenty, and then thirty, forty... After forty-five years, Rean, Roan, and Kentucky reached the Late Stage of the Void Tempering Realm, and they arrived at the Sect when they were in the Initial Stage. Two small realms after just forty-five years was a very good achievement, considering they were not using their Starlight Stones.

It wasn’t supposed to take that long, but without the use of Starlight Stones, they could only rely on the natural Starlight Energy. There wasn’t anything to complain about, though. You would need to look deeper into the sect, in the above-average disciples, to find those who could match the twins and Kentucky.

Of course, there were the geniuses and the direct disciples who received even better treatment, and they were definitely cultivating faster. Ridia was a very good example. She went from the Transition Realm Peak Stage to the Void Tempering Realm Peak Stage in the first ten years. Now, another thirty-five had gone by, and she kind of became a legend between the Demon Plants and experts with Earth and Wood Element Affinity.

By now, she already reached the Space-Bending Realm Late Stage. No doubt she was far ahead schedule of the one hundred years time given to the twins to bring her up to the Elemental Space Realm. From Roan’s calculation, she would only need another twenty or so years, and she should reach the next Realm.

A good thing about all this time was that Ridia matured, finally reaching a mentality that matched her age. Let’s not forget she was already over a thousand years old. By the twentieth year, Zangeshu was allowed to leave her be. There wasn’t a risk of the girl doing some nonsense anymore because she was a kid. Even her humanoid form was now of a young lady, obviously with several traits of her Divine Demon Parasol race over her body.

Another one who managed to break through was Rifindio, who was now in the Space-Bending Realm Late Stage, just like Ridia. He, too, had a Divine Bloodline, even if small in concentration. And with Kentucky’s help, the various missions he took for training, and the resources of the sect, it was only natural he advanced at that speed. Not to mention the cultivation technique Roan created for him before they even met Ridia.

Still, Rifindio couldn’t help but feel impressed by the Parasol girl. She was an entire realm below him when they met, and now she caught up to him. Rifindio asked Roan if that was a side-effect of the cultivation technique he made to her or their difference in bloodline concentration. However, Roan immediately discarded those notions.

Roan knew that his cultivation technique was very good, but it wasn’t THAT good. Another reason for Ridia’s fast development was the inheritance she received from Gian. Back then, Gian passed her one of his branches, and within it had his legacy... and a few other things. Many, many doubts that Ridia would normally have during her development were answered due to it. Besides, she had a proper Divine Demon Tree to give her pointers, her Master, Kalahan.

Rifindio obviously didn’t have anything similar to it. He couldn’t simply go back to the Supreme Palace and ask the Camazotz Bats there for help. After all, he was supposed to be dead to them... although the block in his ID in the Werdlem Network generated some doubts.

Zangeshu wasn’t as fast as Ridia, nor was he faster than Rifindio either. He followed his training schedule. To make sure the backlash Roan added to his cultivation technique wouldn’t flare up, he never neglected any steps. But then again, Zangeshu truly didn’t give cultivation much importance. So, every time he reached the necessary progress during his training, he immediately returned to his runes, equipment, and talismans.

There was an advantage, though. Such ’slower’ cultivation didn’t have any risks of instabilities. He rarely took Roan’s Foundation Stabilization Pills. At the moment, he has already reached the Void Tempering Realm Peak Stage, surpassing the twins. Yes, since he didn’t need as much energy as the twins, nor did he need Sky Energy, even he managed to cultivate faster than Rean, Roan, and Kentucky.

Things were going just fine, and the twins intended to continue like this until they at least got Ridia to enter the Elemental Space Realm. However, after they came back from another record-breaking mission, Rean was summoned by Rean Lotan, his ’master’ in the sect.

"Hey, master! It had been a while," Rean spoke in a nonchalant manner.

Lotan sighed. "Can you drop the ’master’ thing? There are only the two of us here, after all. You don’t really think of me as a master at all. You didn’t come looking for me even once to ask anything, pointers, doubts, nothing..."

Rean found that funny but agreed Lotan was right. "Well, that’s true. Anyway, elder Lotan, I truly thought you would call me at least a few more times after that conversation a few decades ago. After all, you told me all those plans and that I would need to use one of the robots. Yet, it was as if I didn’t even exist to you. What changed your mind? Are we perhaps ready to depart?"

Lotan shook his head. "No. First, the reason I didn’t call you even once was that I didn’t want to attract much attention to you. However, I’ve been watching you closely and all those record-breaking missions you did. I have to admit, you are far stronger than you seem. Were it not for the Soul Binding Contract, I would be highly suspicious of you."

"You should still be suspicious of me," Rean added. "We barely know each other, and the contract didn’t specially specify I couldn’t betray you or the sect in other forms that didn’t end up revealing the escape plan. Well, I don’t have any intention of doing so, although that’s up to you to believe. I got a lot of extra Divine Stones of Rank Three, Four, and even a few Rank Five, thanks to your Badge. I’ll be sure to make up for the benefits I gained."

"I certainly hope you do," Lotan then began to walk out of his office. "Come with me. It’s time for you to meet the robot."
