Chapter 3443: That Was All
"Hum? The robot? Didn’t you say there wasn’t a need for it until the time to escape arrived?" Rean asked while following Lotan.
Lotan flipped his hand, and from inside his Pocket Dimensional Realm, another one of those small devices that could measure healing ability appeared. "Try to use it again, and don’t hold back. We have similar sensitivity to Light Element, so I will notice it."
Rean scratched the back of his head, nodding in the end. "Fine..."
The measurement took the same time, the result being displayed on a holographic screen soon after.
-136 points.-
Back when Rean tried it for the first time, it was 127 points. That new measurement proved that Rean’s capabilities increased.
"As I thought," Lotan nodded, not feeling surprised. "You are just like me and the Sect Master. Even small breakthroughs are enough for our capabilities to increase considerably toward Light Element skills. There aren’t many like us, you know? Others also get better as they have their breakthroughs, but not at this rate."
"You talk like you have seen more than just Light Element users," Rean didn’t miss that important point.
"Yes," Lotan didn’t deny it. "Since there are Light Element users that can improve so much like us even with small breakthroughs, why wouldn’t there be other element users? Our sect has five experts of that level. Their Elemental Affinity is so advanced, and the elements they control are so pure that every small breakthrough gives a great boost."
"Naturally, the Sect Master and I are two of them. There is Silveria, a Snow Ostrish who uses Ice Element. Bario, the Sect’s second in command. When the Sect Master isn’t around, he is the one in charge. He is a Fire Element user. Finally, Core Elder Zofusi is a Glimming Earth Spirit. It should be pretty obvious which Element his affinity is," Lotan explained.
"I see..." Rean nodded. Well, they actually had seven if you counted Rean... and Roan, who they didn’t know the capability yet. ’Sister Orb, does this put them at the same level as Roan and I for real?’ Rean asked and continued to follow Lotan.
[I hardly think so,] Sister Orb answered. She didn’t believe they could reach the same level. [They might be able to do the same thing as you and Roan to a certain degree, but you guys have the support of the system. For example, Lotan’s Light Element Purity is similar to yours, but I’m certain he couldn’t gather as much Light Element as you at the same level while still keeping its purity.]
[Besides, do you think Lotan would be able to use both Dark and Light Element without causing any conflict? Even better, could he use both of those elements to support each other, making them stronger?]
Rean pondered a bit and didn’t take a hasty conclusion. Since he found experts in this place that have Light Element Affinity as good as his in certain areas, perhaps there was someone who could do everything else as well. "Lotan, can you use Dark Element?"
Lotan looked back at Rean, confused. "Dark Element? Well, if I control Yin Energy, I think I can use it to gather a bit of Dark Element, but I would be pretty terrible at it. It would be many times better if I tried to control Fire or Lightning Elements instead since they are Yang in nature, just like Light. I even have some skills that use Fire Element since it is easy to control. Why do you ask?"
Rean shook his head. "Hum... I have a few reasons. You will see later." Seems like at least Lotan can’t do it. Rean couldn’t help but wonder if he and Roan would be able to mix their Light and Dark Elements if the system didn’t exist.
Lotan nodded and didn’t insist. "Is that so? Anyway, answering your question earlier, I decided to let you see the robot because of your Light Element ability. Now that I know you are similar to me and the Sect Master, there isn’t a need to keep waiting."
"You see, we were waiting for the sect recruitments in the event that someone with a similar Light Element ability appeared. Above all, someone with a much higher cultivation. You are only in the Void Tempering Realm, and that makes us a little uneasy. But then again, that’s not something that can be rushed. It will be better if we can at least confirm that you can truly awake the robot. Otherwise, we will focus on the three Robots that we know we can control."
Rean couldn’t help but ask with a serious expression. "Let’s say someone with the same Light Element ability, including healing, appears. Someone with a higher cultivation. But then I already activated the robot. It is bound to me, isn’t it? Would you kill me to see if you could give it to the new guy instead?"
Lotan was taken aback, looking at Rean in surprise. "You sure thought about it hard, didn’t you? Too bad it isn’t possible. The moment you get bound to it, you will understand why it can’t be transferred, regardless of what happens to you."
Rean wondered what kind of technology was used on that robot. But then again, it wasn’t that hard to create a device that could only used by a single person and no one else, even if they died. Since it was possible to be done, it wasn’t surprising that the robot could do the same. "I see... then let’s take a look."
They soon arrived at a Teleport Formation in another one of those rooms that couldn’t receive any signal from the network system. After standing on it, an elder who worked there activated it before a flash of silver light appeared.
Rean’s vision blurred for a moment, and he saw himself inside a pretty huge complex. He tried to spread his Divine Sense, but it was blocked in that place.
"Follow me," Lotan guided Rean, who noticed the various formations masters, blacksmiths, and many other subjob experts working around.
Finally, they entered another room, which was heavily guarded outside. The guards bowed at Lotan, not stopping him from entering. Inside, at the very center, the Robot could be seen. It had countless threads coming from its head, just like hair. Those threads were bigger than its body, but the body was smaller than Rean himself, something around 120cm.
Its head was round like a sphere, and Rean couldn’t see any joints. The rest of its body was thin but very human-like. If not for its old metallic color, one might mistake it for a ten or so-year-old kid... except the head, of course.
"Well then," Lotan patted Rean’s shoulder. "There aren’t any secrets. You just touch it and send your Light Element inside. If it is good enough, it will absorb the Light Element into its core, and it will awake."
Rean nodded, approaching the robot and pressing his hand against its chest.
*Pin!*
[######### has been found.]
Not only Rean but also Roan heard that system’s message. The first word felt more like static, and they couldn’t comprehend it all. It gave the feel that the word had been hidden by some kind of inexplicable power. What has been found? They didn’t know. But most surprisingly, the system stopped there. It didn’t give any explanation, it didn’t give any quest, it didn’t offer any punishment. ’Something...’ has been found. That was all.
