Chapter 4505: Making A Stop
Davis stood at the back of the flying boat, his lips curled in amusement as he answered that he wanted to head to the Daynight Family.
He could see four Venerable Knights, including Venerable Knight Lussandra.
One of the four was Venerable Knight Damien, whose avatar committed suicide to ensure that the agreement between them could work out. He took responsibility following Venerable Knight’s lead, causing Davis to have somewhat of a somewhat good impression of him.
Still, Davis could tell that Venerable Knight Damien avatar’s essence wasn’t fully wasted since Venerable Knight Lussandra collected it after he died. Venerable Knight Damien was probably the only one who was capable of remaking his avatar without suffering many losses. His Oceanic Autarch Body was unique and carried divine water energy of heavenly nature. Although his strike force wasn’t as strong as the other Venerable Knights, he was the most difficult to deal with since he had a huge fucking body that basically stopped any attack in its wake.
If Davis didn’t have chaos-destruction energy, he would’ve really found it difficult to defeat him, even if he wasn’t a threat to his life.
’As for the others, they probably wasted millions of years’ worth of resources for them to be back here again...’
Davis’s smile only grew when he thought of how much wealth the other two Venerable Knights wasted to be here.
After all, since their physiques were extremely rare and extraordinary powerful, the resources they needed to create an avatar must be huge or outright expensive. Moreover, it was the creation of a complete avatar that mimicked their physique and whatever uniqueness they had. Lower Grade resources simply wouldn’t cut it out for them since they had already grown into powerful Absolute Primarchs.
Therefore, the resources they used to create their avatars were probably Primarch Grade resources.
However, instead of creating a powerful avatar, they needed to create a low-cultivation avatar for them to enter the Third Layer. They were totally butchering the resources they used- all in order to keep him in check while dreaming to defeat him.
Davis couldn’t help but pity Venerable Knight Walritch and Venerable Knight Renard.
Although each and every one of them looked like a cultist in his eyes, they were capable of cutting the greed in their hearts to deal with a calamity, even if it cost them heavily. He couldn’t help but admire such tendencies.
Or was it because they were cultists who followed the heavens that they were capable of suppressing their own greed?
Still, he was more than happy to fleece them again.
He guessed their hearts were bleeding right now as they glared at him, wanting to fight and seal him.
"Why do you need to go there? You said you wouldn’t harm anyone, and according to the agreement we made, your family gains entry into the secret realm."
Venerable Knight Lussandra echoed.
By this time, the flying boat had come to a stop as it slowed down.
Davis flew out of the flying boat.
The Venerable Knights not only stopped but they actually retreated a bit, causing Eterna, Celestia, and Lucian’s jaws to drop.
Weren’t these Venerable Knights actually Primarchs? Why were they retreating?
Since they had already reached the peak of the Immortal Emperor Stage, they were also informed as to what the Exalt Stage and Primarch Stages consist of.
Alpha Exalt and Omega Exalt.
Supreme Primarch and Absolute Primarch.
The Venerable Knights were Absolute Primarchs, yet even they feared their father?
Sure, they heard that their father defeated the Venerable Knights when they went out for adventures, and they had even seen Imagery Stones of their father dealing with the Nether Devils. They knew their father was ridiculously strong, but they didn’t think he could actually make the avatars of these grand beings be wary and uncomfortable.
"I intend to keep that agreement,"
Davis’s voice echoed out, "I’m only heading to the Daynight Family in order to conduct some business. You can also come if you’re worried."
Venerable Knight Lussandra stared at him. A few seconds later, she nodded.
"Then I’ll take you up on your offer."
Davis also stared for some time, keeping up the pressure on them before he turned around and re-entered the flying boat before leaving.
The Venerable Knights stared at the leaving boat before they continued to follow.
"Venerable Knight Lussandra, just what are you doing still listening to his words?" Venerable Knight Renard sent a soul transmission.
The others heard it too.
Venerable Knight Lussandra frowned.
She supposed she would have to give some explanation for the actions she had taken. Otherwise, the other Venerable Knights may not honor it.
After all, they weren’t a part of the agreement she made with the Divine Emperor of Death.
"I have concluded that it is nearly impossible to defeat the Divine Emperor of Death here. Then the only way left to deal with him is to minimize our losses by making sure that he doesn’t have anything to fight for. In reality, he really didn’t make a move unless provoked, so his actions speak for themselves."
"..." Venerable Knight Renard seemed unconvinced, "It is not good to trust an innately evil being. Even if they’re trying to be good, they would turn evil if their survival is at stake."
"Isn’t that human nature?" Venerable Knight Lussandra’s voice was solemn, "Is the common cultivator who wants to survive and does something evil, an innately evil person?"
"Don’t make this philosophical. Our mission has always been clear- to eliminate all Divergents regardless of their character."
"Indeed." Venerable Knight Lussandra agreed, "That’s why we wait till the best opportunity arrives, or it is we who will take needless losses. If we fail and manage to anger him, it won’t be just us, Heaven’s Warriors, who will die. Entire realms will be razed to the vast space. Countless innocents will die."
"..."
The Venerable Knights were unable to say anything.
They would’ve already made their moves if it weren’t for Venerable Knight Lussandra’s already being questioned and interrogated by the Divine Sentinel Order. She passed the examination, and the Celestial Transcendent also didn’t veto her decision, which meant he agreed that her actions were right.
Still, that didn’t mean that they had to sit and wait around for him, the Divine Emperor of Death, to enter the Upper Realms.
They could tell his powers had increased again.
Just in this decade, his prowess has increased many times. How could they continue to let him roam free?
"You think letting him go to the secret realm is better?"
Venerable Knight Damien echoed, "Rumor has it that there are dimensional pathways connecting to other galaxies there. No, it may no longer be a rumor since the supreme geniuses actually caught some and sold them in an auction. It could be fake, but regardless, what if the Divine Emperor of Death escapes into another galaxy?
"If he escapes, he escapes. It isn’t like there aren’t Heaven’s Warriors in other galaxies. It’s even better if he lands in some Upper Realm there. Even if the Covenant doesn’t work somehow, if he gets caught by a Paragon Magical Beast Heaven’s Warrior or a Celestial Spirit Heaven’s Warrior, he’s done for."
Venerable Knight Lussandra answered calmly.
Her answer didn’t cause them to be surprised since they were thinking the same thing. However, this was the case if he entered the Upper Realms in other galaxies. What if he escapes to some dimension and doesn’t return until he becomes too powerful?
Wouldn’t the consequences be much more severe?
Despite all their concerns, the Venerable Knights had no choice but to hold their hands. If they cannot seal Davis, then it would not be wise to anger him.
Most of the Venerable Knights haven’t even found the resources to replenish their avatars yet due to the lack of resources, so attacking now would be even more disadvantageous than before.
Soon, they all arrived in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm and made their way to the Daynight Family.
The Eternal Twilight Realm Master was already outside, waiting for the Divine Emperor of Death, since he was already informed by the Venerable Knights.
"Tch, no fun..."
Davis looked out of the flying boat. He wanted to see more people shaking in their boots. Nonetheless, he was here to gain the Exalt Grade Manual of the Eternal Daynight Scripture for Mingzhi. Naturally, Mingzhi tried to gain it before while using the Obsidian Firmament contact intelligence networks in Upper Realms, and from there, she learned that the Exalt Grade Manual wasn’t in the Upper Realms but the Lower Realm, where it could be protected better.
This meant the Daynight Family must be in possession of the Exalt Grade Manual. However, it was unknown where they kept it.
It could be in the deepest parts of their Treasury or their own secret mini-realm they owned.
"Divine Emperor of Death, what can I do for you?"
The Eternal Twilight’s Realm Master was crisp and diplomatic. It was as though he knew nothing untoward would happen today with the Venerable Knights around.
