Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4506: Doing Business In the Daynight Family

Chapter 4506: Doing Business In the Daynight Family

"How about inviting us in as a guest first? Is this how the Daynight Family treats those who have come far to visit it?"

Davis didn’t answer.

Instead, Eterna came forward and demanded.

Davis was speechless. Shirley’s daughter was truly amazing. She got into the part as soon as she saw how he was getting things done.

"You... are...?"

For a moment, the Eternal Twilight Realm Master was dumbfounded since Shirley was supposed to be in the secret realm. How did she come out without him knowing?

He had tons of his people or even spies in the border town. Tax was the most important, after all. Although he couldn’t collect much due to many powers suppressing him, he still had the right to impose taxes because this secret realm appeared in his realm, and imposing taxes was his heaven-given right bestowed by the Heaven’s Warrior Organizations and the ruler of the Greater Realm.

No matter how small, he was still paying tribute to an Upper Realm, and they would pay tribute to the Greater Realm, after all.

The tax he imposed may be one percent, but he was still raking in tons of money.

The Eternal Twilight’s Daynight Family had entered an unprecedented golden era because of this secret realm of the Elemental Dimension. It was his cash cow. The myriad realms were all jealous of him. Yet, the menace in front of him appeared with unknown intentions, causing his heart to be heavy.

"She is Eterna Davis, my first daughter between me and Shirley." Davis spoke with pride, "How is she? Her courage is not bad, right?"

"..."

The Eterna Twilight Realm Master didn’t know how to reply. He could only smile and nod. For all he knew, this could be a trap of provocation to only rob him clean later.

"So it’s Fairy Eterna. My apologies. I have been rude to my Daynight Family’s guests. Please..."

The Eternal Twilight Realm Master gestured for them to follow respectfully. He was a bit surprised since he saw Eterna as a little kid back then but she had already grown up into a fine woman.

Davis nodded and flew the flying boat further once the barrier was retracted. The Venerable Knights also followed in.

Meanwhile, Eterna gawked.

It was already publicly known that their sixth mother, Mingzhi, stole the Eternal Daynight Scripture somehow. Even with that being the case, the Eternal Twilight Realm Master was still unashamed enough to accept them in.

She had her fair share of adventures.

She knew any power that had their prized manual stolen would hunt the bandit down even if their forces dwindled down to the last. If it was stolen by another power that they couldn’t finish or couldn’t fight, then they would have an enmity that would last ages.

However, the Eternal Twilight Realm Master didn’t seem to have such hate.

Instead, she could only sense caution in his eyes and perhaps fear that he was suppressing until the limit, as his movements appeared to be somewhat stiff.

Eterna turned to look at her father, her crimson eyes shining.

’He totally stayed home like a sheep, but everyone’s afraid of him...’

Celestia also understood one thing, realization clicking in her mind, ’It isn’t our forces that keep them at bay but Father’s presence...’

Instantly, they became worried, wondering if their home would be safe.

However, they guessed that as long as nothing happened to their father, they wouldn’t dare to launch a strike even if they came to know their place. They would be afraid of retaliation. Even the Heaven’s Warriors were afraid for some reason.

Davis and the others entered a guest palace.

It was incredibly luxurious and posh, and the black-white metallic matte finish on some walls made the palace shine like a jewel.

Eterna and Celestia had never seen such extravagance in their adventures. They had also earned a reputation with fake names and fake appearances. However, none of it was with their true names. After all, they were supposed to be low-key, or if someone knew that they were the Divine Emperor of Death’s kids, they would be targeted.

They were not afraid of the Heaven’s Warriors. However, the three villains their father talked about always scared them.

They still remembered what happened in eleventh mother Lea’s marriage.

Eterna had almost gotten herself killed. Thinking back, she suddenly missed Young Master Noraus Auraflame who stayed in their family for a year as a prisoner for over a year. The Auraflame Clan of the Fire Phoenix Lower Realm needed to give a suitable explanation and compensation for the attack caused by Accursed Warlock and Kerez Zenflame.

They took a year to arrange facts, explaining their circumstances and arranging a boatload of Empyrean Grade resources as compensation. It wasn’t done to save one Noraus Auraflame but to save them from the wrath of the Divine Emperor of Death. Otherwise, the Auraflame Clan wouldn’t have spent that much just to save a single youth of their clan, even if he was promising.

Eterna had made an acquaintance with him and even kept him company when he was in prison, visiting him occasionally every month to talk about the phoenix clans. She was interested in all the phoenix clans, after all. Her parents necessarily didn’t pass on the hate to her, but she knew they were not to be trusted. Still, as she was talking, she got more interested in him since he was an outsider whom she rarely talked to.

His opinions and the way he lived his life were all different.

But before anything could happen, he was sent back.

She had no idea how he was doing now, wondering if she would see him in the secret realm. It had been six or seven years, after all.

"- Please enjoy the refreshments."

Eterna came out of her reverie and realized that the Eternal Twilight Realm Master had just finished explaining the dishes and refreshments he was serving them. Without caring if it was poisoned, she was the first one to grab and drink, feeling a burst of taste fill her mouth.

"Mhm~ So good~" She commented, giving one to Celestia for her to try.

Celestia pouted at her, thinking she was not being elegant. But she couldn’t say no to Eterna either.

"Now then- can I ask for what reason you have visited?"

"Naturally," Davis responded, "It is to obtain the Exalt Grade Manual of the Eternal Daynight Scripture. Speak, how much do you want for it?"

"..."

The Eternal Twilight Realm Master remained silent, still smiling. He did have an inkling, but didn’t expect the other party to be outright with it. After all, they had stolen it using his three exiled sons. If he weren’t worried about his reputation, this matter would’ve already been public.

Now, the Divine Emperor of Death wanted to buy their manual?

He had so many things to say, yet didn’t know where to start.

He turned to look at Venerable Knight Lussandra, who sat by their side, before returning his gaze.

"There must be a misunderstanding," He began, "Our humble empire doesn’t have the Exalt Grade Manual of the Eternal Daynight Scripture."

"..." Davis smiled, "That seems to be true. However, tell me if you have access to the Exalt Grade Manual of the Eternal Daynight Scripture or not."

"..."

The Eternal Twilight Realm Master inwardly groaned. He could not even sense Heart Intent being active, but he totally knew his emotions were being monitored right now. It was totally rude. Too rude. It was outright rude. But what could he do?

He couldn’t be found lying, or he felt it would turn into a disaster.

"I do have access to it..."

He uttered in a low voice.

"Great. How much do you want for it?" Davis repeated the question.

"Divine Emperor of Death, it’s not a matter of how much I’m willing to part with it. It’s a matter of my life. I have sworn and signed a True Soul Contract to protect it and never share it with anyone who’s not family, and further, only share with promising individuals who earn the right by becoming supreme geniuses."

"Oh, don’t worry about it. I’ll refine your oath so that you won’t be affected. Now, how much?"

"..."

The Eternal Twilight Realm Master was speechless.

It seems the Divine Emperor of Death was determined to obtain this manual no matter what...?

"I offer two Primarch Grade resources," Davis uttered.

"...!"

He continued, "One light and one darkness attributed Primarch Grade resources."

"..." The Eternal Twilight Realm Master appeared a bit moved.

Primarch Grade resources weren’t easy to obtain in the Upper Realms. It may take anywhere between a hundred thousand years to million years to just find one growing somewhere in the realm and more time if they wanted to nurture one by themselves.

His power may own a Lower Realm, but they were just a better-than-average Primarch Grade Family in the Upper Realm where they live. They were just one of many powerful subordinates to the Upper Realm ruler, having to give tributes in the form of Primarch Grade resources.

It wouldn’t be a lie to say that he wasn’t tempted to hand over the apt Primarch Grade resources. But still-

"Three Primarch Grade resources."

Sensing his hesitation, Davis raised his offer, "This one’s the house for plundering the Eternal Daynight Scripture back then, although I must say your sons were foolish enough to hurt my people. I say it’s a given that I took your family’s manual, but then, I’m here to do business properly. Sincerity is a must, I guess. Isn’t that right, Venerable Knight Lussandra?"

"..."

Venerable Knight Lussandra frowned. As long as he was doing business, she couldn’t interfere properly.
