Chapter 2534 A Conversation Between Foes! What Drives You Forward?Chapter 2534 A Conversation Between Foes! What Drives You Forward?
-----
The entity that the Miasmic Beasts called their "King" that emerged from within the Chaotic Plane didn't let the Galactic Humans escape at all, gathering its chaotic energies and shooting a red beam from its hand, which possessed a crimson eye within.
BOOOMMM!!!
The laser beam instantly reached the pilots, as a gigantic explosion engulfed them all, so powerful it resembled a massive nuke that blew up in the skies, the shockwaves sending flying the faraway human and demons still fighting.
The smoke dissipated, however, to reveal a shocking view. Red Miner's incredibly tough body survived, although several of its parts had been burned and its armor was falling into pieces, it had protected the pilots by putting himself in front.
"C-Commander Hammiel!"
"Are you okay?!"
"What happened?"
"That thing shot a massive laser…"
Hammiel and his crew were fine, however, within Red Miner, they were well protected, however, that beam held tremendous power, capable of blowing up several mountains in a row with ease.
"All of you, escape!" Hammiel said. "We'll hold back this thing! You must live and report everywhere we've found out!"
"B-But commander!"
The other soldiers hesitated; they didn't want to leave the commander in the middle of such a dangerous battle.
"You can hardly do anything on your own! Go back already!"
Hammiel didn't have a good temperament, instantly yelling at his subordinates with utter anger, making them afraid of his wrath.
They quickly started flying away one after another, the "King" glared at the flies flying away, but it only glared at the biggest out of them.
"So you must be their champion, I assume?"
And it talked its voice spreading everywhere, even talking inside of the head of Hammiel and his crew.
Unlike all other Chaotic Plane creatures, this "King" spoke as eloquently as any other human, it was almost scary.
"I can assume that you were the one that destroyed the Chaotic Vessel and my children?"
Its complete body crawled out of the crack in space, resembling a huge, muscular humanoid monstrosity, covered with hard black metal plates, spikes everywhere, eyes and jaws.
Despite coming from the Chaotic Plane, its inhabitants weren't as shapeless as Outer Gods and Dream Plane Inhabitants were.
However, Hammiel had figured out their "shape" was mostly for optimization to battle in areas with high concentrations of foreign energies.
Their true bodies are shapeless masses of pure chaos with certain levels of concentration and miasma, and a crystalized core in the center.
"Hammiel! Are you sure about this?"
"We'll die!"
"Are we… sacrificing ourselves?"
Hammiel's crew felt the immense pressure coming from the "King" whose crimson eyes glared at them after asking that question.
It seemed deeply upset his army and vessel were destroyed, and it was obvious it wanted revenge.
"…"
Hammiel gritted his teeth, thinking about a strategy that wasn't just throwing their lives away into suicide. But there weren't any.
"I am known as a [King]. There are several Kings in the Chaotic Plane. We are the existences whose concentration of power is the largest, and also the most ancient. My name is Obhedhrur, I am the Fifth King of Chaos, Lord of Fear."
"The bastard is even introducing himself?"
"W-Why?"
"The scariest thing is he can talk into our minds…!"
"Is the technology to counter mind attacks still not done yet?"
"We are still developing soul-protection! It took us getting in here to finally have enough resources to start progressing on it you know?"
Hammiel sighed, quickly pushing several buttons.
The crew inside of the Red Miner suddenly were dragged into pods, and the pods suddenly flew out of the Red Miner at lightning speed, being caught by nearby pilots that stayed.
"Get them out!"
He didn't give any other order at all, his crew yelled and screamed at him, asking him what he was doing, but he didn't answer and ignored them.
"Alright, whatever your name is. My name is Hammiel, and this guy I'm piloting is Red Miner."
His voice echoed from the robot very loudly, the Fifth King of Chaos remained in silence as he heard him speaking.
"Why do you even bother with introductions? You're much more human-like than I imagined."
"We've adapted to your manners and customs after devouring many of your kind, especially their souls. Much like any living being, we adapt and evolve. The Chaotic Plane provided very little for us to continue growing. But the universe and beyond has an endless source of power and data for us to assimilate."
"T-That's… Just what are your plans?! We came back to Earth to reclaim it! It is our homeland, and we will not stop until every alien taking over it is gone! We'll recover our home no matter what."
"So that's your reason? Our reason is simpler. There is something you call an "instinct". Within all of us there's an endless "instinct" to eat and kill anything beneath us and grow and evolve. There are no other reasons."
"W-Wha…?!"
Hammiel felt shocked, there wasn't any personal or emotional reason. In fact, Chaotic Beings didn't seem to even have emotions, and their personalities might also be very basic.
"You mean you're stopping us and getting in the way, killing innocents all just because you fucking bastards felt like it?! No other reason?!" Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire
Hammiel was left speechless.
And yet…
"Oh? But isn't that what you humans are doing? You are killing countless "innocents" and are also doing so because you felt like it. Your kind is not struggling currently, you don't require the resources you're mining, and you don't need more land to conquer, I've seen it all through the memories of your kind I've eaten. You're doing everything because you want to, there is no crisis for survival forcing you to do this. Isn't that similar to us? I believe there was also a word for this. Ah yes, hypocrisy."
"HAH?!"
From all living beings out there, Hammiel never thought he would get scolded from a literal embodiment of chaos.
At the very least, it helped him buy enough time for his Pile Bunkers to cool down completely.
"You bastard, you're-"
"I have realized you're doing this to buy time. I allowed you to because I wanted to experience a "conversation", but I've gathered enough information. I will proceed to kill you and eat you now."
Before Hammiel could say another word, Obhedhrur's claws had already reached Red Miner.
CRAAASH!
