Relief washed over Alex almost the moment he felt the pop. He felt himself mentally lurch forward as though an obstacle in his path that he had been pushing for so long had disappeared all of a sudden, causing his momentum to continue to carry him forward.
Alex stopped immediately before he could do any harm to the others in his Soul Space.
Alex felt incredibly excited at the fact that he had broken through the seal and was even ready to celebrate when his happiness turned sour.
The seal was still there.
‘What?’ he thought in confusion. How could the seal exist when he had broken through it just now?
He could already tell that he was seeing the inside of his Soul Space. So he had succeeded, and yet the seal still existed?
Alex pushed down his questions and observed the situation at first. He looked through the seal in its entirety and was surprised to find that he hadn’t done anything to it at all.
It was still the same seal as it always was. However, there was now a tiny hole within it, and through that Alex was able to send his Spiritual sense into his Soul Space.
That was all he needed really. The rest of the seal wasn’t that big of a deal anyway if he could gain access to the Soul Space already. He would deal with the rest later on.
Alex was about to switch his focus over to his Soul Space when he noticed something regarding the seal.
“Shit!” he thought all of a sudden. “Can it regenerate?”
The seal was in the process of healing itself, going so far as to try and plug the small hole that Alex had created. For some reason though, it could not regenerate fully for now.
The mere presence of Alex’s spiritual sense had stopped it from fully closing.
Alex had no doubt that if he pulled out his Spiritual sense, the seal would heal back to how it was before, in which case he would have to break it open again just to gain access to his Soul Space again.
Alex sighed upon learning that, but there wasn’t much else he could do right now. He would just have to keep his Spiritual sense inside the seal at all times.
“Brother?” a voice came to Alex.
Alex was about to reply when he realized that it wasn’t Whisker who questioned him.
It was Pearl.
“Pearl?” Alex asked. “Can you hear me?”
Their bonds that were separated by the seal had reformed now that he had poked a hole through it.
Alex could send and receive messages from Pearl.
“I can hear you, brother. Are you alright? Is Whisker there?” Pearl asked urgently.
“I’m doing okay,” Alex quickly answered. “So is Whisker. He told me about what was happening there. Let me see if I can do something about it.”
Alex’s Spiritual sense spread through his Soul Space, spreading for tens of hundreds of kilometers. The distance his Spiritual sense could spread was so large that the pitiful 3-meter radius that he was allowed in Hell felt almost vindictive toward him.
Even at that large of a distance, Alex could not even cover a tenth of the diameter of his Soul Space.
Alex immediately ignored everything from Pearl to Whisker to the seal, and focused entirely on finding out the cause of the danger that Whisker was talking about.
Alex was surprised to find an abundance of Yang within his Soul Space, something that should have been more or less neutral at any other time.
Was this because of his consumption of Sunhearts or was it merely due to his presence in Hell?
Whatever the case, he needed to subdue it.
Alex controlled the Yang and slowly moved it to one location. This was only a portion of his Soul Space, but Alex had to stop.
There was something wrong.
Aside from a suspicious lack of various items floating around in this region of his Soul Space, Alex had almost immediately realized that the presence of Yang was in fact not the issue.
There was actually something there, lurking within the Yang energy that he was only able to sense after taking it away. There was something there, some sort of strong energy that Alex had never felt before and yet at the same time felt familiar.
He couldn’t tell what was going on. What was this energy? And had he seen it before somewhere?
Alex shifted his focus to another section of the Soul Space. He arrived at the Demon realm and quickly checked on its situation.
This region was also full of Yang, but it wasn’t so much that it was unbearable. The Nine Yang Divine Tree had consumed most of the Yang energy from the looks of it. However, in exchange for that, it was beginning to give off a lot of light and heat.
Alex guessed that was better.
Alex found Pearl outside the third mountain, standing next to a mountain, waiting for him to do his thing.
Alex shifted his focus to the fourth mountain and found it barren, devoid of both plants and animals.
‘Has the destructive thing spread this far?’ Alex thought. He tried to check the 5th mountain for more signs of what was going on, but to his surprise, he couldn’t see anything with his Spiritual sense.
His Spiritual energy was destroyed the moment it got close to the mountain.
Alex was confused for a moment, but he could tell more or less what was the cause of this.
“Whisker,” Alex called out. “I’ve broken through the seal. I need you to go back and be my eyes on the inside.”
Whisker quickly got up from where he sat and nodded. “Right away, brother.”
He had long since noticed Alex succeeding in breaking through the seal and had been waiting to be put to use.
Alex caused Whisker with his Qi and sent him inside.
Or at least, he attempted to.
When he tried to send Whisker inside, Whisker was bounced back into the open, unable to enter his Soul Space at all.
