Alex remained sitting with a confused look on his face, staring at Whisker who was getting back up.
He didn’t think much of what had happened, simply assuming he had made a mistake, and attempted to send Whisker back into his Soul Space once again, only to have him bounce back once again.
“Huh?”
“What’s going on, brother?”
Both Alex and Whisker were confused now, neither understanding the situation.
“I don’t know,” Alex quickly said, attempting to send Whisker back again. This time though, he closely observed what was happening.
As he sent Whisker into his Soul Space, he noticed that Whisker slammed against his seal instead and was knocked back out. The seal was barring Alex from accessing his Soul Space again.
‘But the hole is still there,’ Alex thought. ‘Can I not send him through the hole?’
Alex attempted one last time, this time lining Whisker right alongside the hole in the seal. Even so, when Whisker arrived right on the hole, it turned out that he was far too big to enter.
Alex looked around for stones around the room that he trained his Intent with and tried to send them in. Even those stones strained to enter, but managed to do so in the end.
“Can you become as small as you can?” Alex asked Whisker.
Whisker nodded and changed his size again. This time, he became so small that 10 of him would fit in Alex’s outstretched palm. He was about the size of those stones.
Now that he was so small, Alex felt confident in being able to send Whisker back in.
However, once again, he failed. And he failed by a large margin.
Whisker was too big to enter through the tiny hole. Impossibly big.
His physical size itself was in fact fine from what Alex had managed to figure out. If those stones could enter, Whisker should have been able to as well.
But Whisker didn’t just travel with his physical body. He also had his Soul Space.
And no matter how small a Soul Space, it was still large enough to not pass through the hole.
Alex frowned for a moment as he slowly came to an understanding of exactly what had happened. Whisker failed to enter because of his Soul Space. He wondered, did that mean Pearl couldn’t come out either?
Alex didn’t test with Pearl. It wasn’t that he was worried he would fail, but rather that there was a possibility he would succeed. If he succeeded, then Pearl would be outside, but then there was the possibility that he couldn’t send Pearl back inside.
Without Whisker or Pearl inside to take care of the Demon realm, things would turn from bad to worse.
Alex instead tried to see if he could bring out a storage bag instead. He had plenty floating around in his Soul Space anyway, so he searched for one.
Alex’s spiritual sense moved around in the Soul Space, jumping around randomly as he switched the opening of the Soul Space. A confused look formed on his face as he searched that soon grew into a worry.
No matter how much he searched, he could not find anything.
His Soul Space was filled strongly with Yang and the destructive energy that hid within the Yang. As he searched around, a pit formed in his stomach as he guessed what could have happened.
He saw the destruction of the 4th mountain and remembered what Whisker told him about the 5th. Those two mountains had been completely stripped away of life.
What if things were worse out here? What if the destruction didn’t just stick to life but everything else? What if everything within his Soul Space outside of the Demon Realm had been completely destroyed?
Alex did not want that. He hated the thought of it alone. But even so, he couldn’t deny the possibility of such a thing and that was a horrifying thought.
The pit in his stomach continued to grow as he searched around his Soul Space and failed to find absolutely anything at all.
Alex’s despair grew and grew as he searched more and more. And then, he finally saw something.
In fact, it was 5 things.
5 massive barrier spheres floating around in the infinite darkness, like large golden marbles in the sky. Inside each of those barriers were a vast amount of his items, each covering one major thing in the center.
A cauldron.
A connection stirred as Alex’s spiritual sense got closer and he heard a familiar voice.
“Master?”
Alex’s eyes widened slightly on the outside.
“Memory?” he called out, staring at the stunning sight. Almost everything he owned from various artifacts to weapons, to storage bags, everything was around each of the 5 clones of Memory, inside of the barrier.
“Did you protect all of this?” he asked.
“Yes!” Memory said excitedly. “Did I do good?”
“You did good. You did great, actually,” Alex said. “Thank you. Did you save everything?”
“Everything I could find. I might have missed something, but I hope I didn’t,” Memory said.
Alex quickly went through the things Memory had saved. On the outside, he could see a few smaller cauldrons, some swords, his artifacts such as the Mirror of Barren Truth, Frostfire Inkbrush, Voidsand Hourglass, Mountain Crushing artifacts, etc.
There were plenty of storage bags floating around as well, most of which contained his spirit stones, as well as different artifacts he had been rewarded after the tournament.
Talismans were littered around all of the 5 Memory.
While that was on the outside, Alex checked the inside. The inside was full of other things as well, but mostly important ingredients as well as things that were very important to him.
Midnight’s shattered remains were inside one of the cauldrons, while Pearl’s father’s beast core was in another one. The shattered spear that belonged to Pearl’s father was in another one as well.
“Thank you for protecting it all, Memory,” Alex said, finally feeling relieved that nothing of importance had been lost.
“Can you tell me what urged you to save it all?”
