Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Chapter 1120: 1119 If I'm not mistakenChapter 1120: 1119 If I’m not mistaken
“Ranran!”
Mo Xiuchen called her name softly.
He knew she resented him.
There were so many words in his heart, but he did not know how to express them.
Suddenly, Wen Ran smiled, a smile that was heartbreaking. “You won’t let me see, but I know what Cheng Jia would write. Give me the phone, Mo Xiuchen, from now on, we have no relationship.”
“Ranran?”
Gu Kai shouted in astonishment.
The color drained from Mo Xiuchen’s face instantly.
He lowered his gaze and took out his phone, handing it to Wen Ran.
Wen Ran took the phone, her voice void of any emotion. “Let’s go, now to the Civil Affairs Bureau, or it will be too late.”
“Ranran, don’t be impulsive. Wait at least until the results come out.”
Gu Kai reached out in a panic to hold Wen Ran, who was turning to leave.
Wen Ran turned her head, her gaze paused for a second on Gu Kai’s face before looking at Mo Xiuchen.
Meeting her gaze, Mo Xiuchen’s eyes flinched.
Wen Ran’s gaze was as cold as ice, worlds apart from her usual tenderness and affection. Mo Xiuchen found it difficult to accept such a contrast.
Seeing that Mo Xiuchen remained silent, Gu Kai became even more agitated. “Ranran…”
“Brother, this is our matter. Don’t interfere.” Her words cut him off, and she pulled her hand away from his grasp and turned to leave.
“Mo Xiuchen.”
Gu Kai then turned to look at Mo Xiuchen.
Mo Xiuchen pursed his lips and stepped up to follow Wen Ran.
In the silent corridor, the two walked one after the other, like strangers.
Watching this scene, Gu Kai felt a pang of sadness, his grip on the bag tightening bit by bit.
Stepping into the elevator, Wen Ran directly pressed the button for the first floor. Mo Xiuchen, tall and stately, stood rigidly in front of her. Seeing her press the button for the first floor, his lips moved slightly, but ultimately, he did not speak.
In the elevator, apart from the two of them, there was no one else.
No one spoke. The silence filled every inch of space, making it hard to breathe.
Fortunately, the elevator soon reached the first floor with a ding sound ringing in their ears. Wen Ran looked at the door and walked out of the elevator.
Mo Xiuchen silently followed her out of the elevator, out of the hospital, and to the parking lot. He opened the car door for Wen Ran, and she got in, fastening her seatbelt.
“Ranran, let’s go home first to get our marriage certificate.”
After Mo Xiuchen sat in the driver’s seat, he turned his body and looked at Wen Ran with a gentle gaze.
Wen Ran nodded her head but remained silent.
“Ranran.”
Mo Xiuchen looked at her, wanting to say something more, but Wen Ran suddenly raised her head, her gaze cold. “You don’t need to say anything. Just drive.”
Mo Xiuchen’s handsome face paled slightly. He lowered his gaze and started the car.
The phone rang; it was Qing Feng calling.
“Young Master Mo, Miss Wen said she was going to the restroom and hasn’t returned yet. Did she come to find you?”
“She’s here with me.”
Mo Xiuchen explained briefly and then hung up the call.
He started the car and hit the road.
**
Divorce, actually, is very simple.
Just like getting married.
Leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau, Wen Ran tightly clenched the divorce certificate in her hand. Suddenly, images flashed before her eyes of when they had first gotten their marriage certificate and Mo Xiuchen had left her to go on a business trip.
Behind him, Mo Xiuchen’s gaze lingered on her while his hands tightly clutched the booklet, just like Wen Ran, he too was reminded of the scene from two years ago.
Time truly flies, in the blink of an eye, it had been two years.
Yet, it had also passed so slowly.
The two years for Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran, compared to other couples and lovers, were filled with more setbacks; they had weathered so many storms together, even surviving life and death trials.
Now, it was still because of Momo, from now on, they would be strangers on separate paths.
Thinking of this, Mo Xiuchen felt a stabbing pain in his heart as if it were being sliced by a knife, a sharp pain that spread rapidly, instantly permeating every single cell in his body.
Even breathing was sharply painful.
He looked at Wen Ran, his eyes involuntarily welling up with moisture, though he had never thought of letting go, he still did.
The last time, his divorce from Wen Ran was not signed personally by him, it didn’t count; this time, it was signed by him personally. Remembering this, his right hand’s fingers slowly curved, clenched into a fist.
“Ranran.”
On the roadside, a car stopped.
Wen Jin got out of the car and hurried toward Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.
Wen Ran didn’t turn back to look at Mo Xiuchen, instead, she descended the steps, step by step walking towards the briskly running Wen Jin.
“Ranran, did you really get divorced?”
Wen Jin’s gaze swept over Mo Xiuchen, who was still standing at the door, then he looked down at Wen Ran with concern.
Wen Ran ‘hmm’ed, handing over the booklet to him, and softly asked, “Brother, are you here to pick me up?”
“I got a call from Ah Kai, saying you and Mo Xiuchen came to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get divorced, thinking that you certainly wouldn’t want to ride in his car back, so I came.”
Wen Jin’s heart and eyes were filled with pity for Wen Ran.
A few months ago, Mo Xiuchen had organized a special wedding for her, declaring his love for her to the whole world.
He thought that from then on, they could be happy forever.
How much time had passed since then.
Wen Ran saw the emotions in Wen Jin’s eyes and pursed her lips, gently saying, “Let’s go, we’ll pick up Ziyi at the hospital and then go home.”
“You’re not staying at the hospital?”
Wen Jin asked in surprise.
Wen Ran nodded, “I’m not staying at the hospital anymore, I need to bring Momo back, Cheng Jia asked me to divorce him, and I’ve done it now, she should return Momo to me.”
“Alright, we’ll first pick up Ziyi from the hospital, the rest, we’ll talk about it later.”
Seeing Wen Ran’s clear and indifferent eyes, utterly unfazed by anyone’s persuasion, Wen Jin had no choice but to take her home.
He raised his hand, pulling down her hat brim slightly, then quickly walked to the roadside and opened the car door for her.
Wen Ran bent down and got into the car, and Wen Jin drove away.
From beginning to end, she never looked back, never giving the man behind her another glance.
At the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Mo Xiuchen’s tall figure stood proudly under the setting sun, his features silhouetted against the light, shrouded in shadow, every cell in his body radiating sadness and pain…
He watched as Wen Jin’s car disappeared from his sight, then lowered his gaze to the booklet in his own hand.
“Mo Xiuchen, let’s go back.”
On the roadside, another car door opened, and Qin Mu, unable to watch any longer, stepped out and quickly walked up to Mo Xiuchen, snatching the divorce certificate from his hand, urging him to go back.
Mo Xiuchen’s expression changed, but he didn’t lash out, just quietly watched Qin Mu take the divorce certificate, “Ah Mu, go and find Ranran.”
“What?”
Qin Mu thought he had misheard, frowning at Mo Xiuchen.
Was he delirious from too much grief?
Wen Ran had been taken away by Wen Jin; what was Mo Xiuchen worried about that he still wanted him to go after her?
“Ranran agreed to Cheng Jia, to leave me, it definitely isn’t as simple as just divorcing me. If I’m not wrong, Cheng Jia will definitely make her do something, to make me give up.”
Qin Mu’s expression darkened, “Mo Xiuchen, what do you mean by that?”
