Chapter 1136: 1135 Mo Xiuchen and Momo will arrive tonightChapter 1136: 1135 Mo Xiuchen and Momo will arrive tonight
Wen Ran had slept for two days and three nights.
During this time while she was sleeping, she had missed many things.
From Monday night to Thursday morning, when she finally woke up and opened her eyes, she saw Qin Mu beside her feeding Ziyi with formula. Wen Jin and An Lin were pointing and giving instructions:
“Lower the bottle a bit, otherwise Ziyi might choke.”
“Let me do it, I don’t think you know how to feed properly,” Wen Jin said as she reached out to take the bottle. An Lin turned her head and saw Wen Ran, who had opened her eyes and looked utterly perplexed. Her eyes flickered, and a radiant smile spread across her face: “Ranran, you’re awake.”
“How long have I been asleep?”
Wen Ran felt as if she had slept for a long, long time. Her head was even a bit dizzy; she pressed her hand against her forehead. Her gaze paused for a few seconds on Ziyi, whom Qin Mu was holding, and then she asked, “Where is Momo?”
Qin Mu and Wen Jin also turned to look at her.
“Ranran, you must be hungry after sleeping so long. I’ll make a call to have food delivered for you. After you’ve eaten, I’ll tell you everything.”
An Lin’s smile was warm, but there was a flicker in her eyes as she spoke, as if she was hiding some secret.
Wen Ran’s gaze shifted to Wen Jin and Qin Mu, repeating her previous question, “How long have I been asleep?”
“Ranran, you’ve been asleep for two days; today is Thursday. Don’t worry, Mo Xiuchen and Momo will be back tonight.”
“Why are Mo Xiuchen and Momo only coming back tonight? Where did they go? Why did I sleep so long? Brother, what are you hiding from me…”
“Ranran, calm down first, we’ll explain everything slowly.”
Seeing Wen Ran becoming agitated, An Lin quickly sat down on the edge of the bed and soothingly placed her hand on her shoulder.
Wen Ran took a deep breath to calm herself down.
She was now certain they were keeping something from her.
It must be about Momo. She frowned, trying to recall the events before she fell asleep. It was Monday night; Xiaoxiao had given her some soup, and then she felt sleepy and fell asleep before Momo could return.
Had she really slept for two days and three nights?
She definitely wouldn’t sleep so long without a reason; they must have not wanted her to wake up. She suddenly grabbed An Lin: “Did something happen to Momo?”
That was the only possibility; they didn’t want her to see Momo.
“Ranran, Momo is fine. The reason you slept so long is that I asked Mo Xiuchen to put a sleep-inducing drug in the soup you drank. The child Zhixing saved that night was not Momo but a baby abandoned by his parents. Momo, Bai Yiyi, and her daughter were all taken abroad by Li En.”
An Lin continued, “Mo Xiuchen, Momo, Bai Yiyi, and others are on a plane back home now. They will arrive in G City tonight. So, Ranran, don’t be sad, and don’t worry; this time, it’s really Momo, and she’s coming back safely.”
Wen Ran listened, somewhat comprehending, “You’re saying the child that night wasn’t Momo. Momo was taken away by Li En. Why did he take Momo?”
Li En liked Bai Yiyi, and taking Bai Yiyi made sense to her, but why did he take Momo?
“Maybe he wants to use Momo to threaten Yiyi,” Qin Mu interjected before An Lin could explain. Still cradling Ziyi in his arms, although tiny, the baby immediately stopped wanting to drink formula upon seeing his mother awake, crying out with a whimper of distress.
Qin Mu was startled, and beside him, Wen Jin looked at the little Ziyi in surprise. Over the past two days, the baby had really been causing them a lot of trouble.
“Ranran, you go freshen up first, then hold Ziyi afterward. He hasn’t let you hold him for two days, he must miss you.”
Wen Jin gently reminded.
Seeing Qin Mu flustered, An Lin disdainfully glanced at him, stepped forward, and reached out her hand, “Give Ziyi to me. He doesn’t want you holding him; I’ll soothe him.”
“Here,” Qin Mu said, admitting his inadequacy in comforting the child.
After An Lin took Ziyi from him, Qin Mu turned to Wen Ran and in a low voice said, “Ranran, Ah Jin and I will go out first. After you freshen up, have breakfast, and if you have any questions, just ask An Lin.”
He placed the milk bottle on the side table and walked out of the ward with Wen Jin. He took out his mobile phone to call someone to deliver breakfast to Wen Ran.
“An Lin, tell me about it in detail, Momo is really alright?”
Wen Ran, after freshening up and holding Ziyi, noted that he barely drank any milk formula just a while ago. Now, nestled in her arms, his head burrowed against her chest.
“That night, Uncle Gu found out that the child who came back wasn’t Momo, so he told Mo Xiuchen, but Mo Xiuchen, fearing you’d be upset, thought it best not to tell you and to hurry to find Momo,” An Lin said.
Wen Ran pursed her lips, her eyes firmly fixed on An Lin, listening as she spoke, “It’s also thanks to Ah Kai’s girlfriend, Fang Zhiwei, that they found Momo and Yiyi so quickly. She happened to be on a business trip to D Country, and spotted Li En by chance there.”
“The reason they found them was that Yiyi had promised Ah Kai she wouldn’t leave G City. Seeing Li En and Yiyi get out of the car with Yiyi holding her daughter Tongtong and Li En taking another child from someone nearby—a very young baby—Fang Zhiwei became suspicious and followed him.”
Fang Zhiwei had been feeling very guilty about the Momo incident from before.
She had been actively searching for information over the past few days, and upon seeing that infant, a suspicion suddenly popped into her mind—could that baby be the daughter of Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran, Momo?
Li En, not expecting to encounter someone he knew abroad, allowed for Fang Zhiwei’s successful tracking, who then called back home to inform Gu Kai.
After hearing An Lin’s account, Wen Ran suddenly felt a twinge of unease.
“Did Li En take Momo just to threaten Yiyi?” She had always had a bad impression of Li En. Years ago, she was nearly killed because of Fu Jingyi, and Li En was Jingyi’s disciple. Could he treat her Momo the same way his teacher had once treated her?
Seeing Wen Ran’s worries, An Lin smiled faintly and said, “Ranran, don’t worry. When Momo comes back, just do a comprehensive check-up to know for sure. With Yiyi there, Li En won’t harm Momo. Mo Xiuchen also said over the phone that Momo is fine.”
“You’re saying Mo Xiuchen and my brother both went to D Country?”
Wen Ran filtered her words again and asked.
An Lin nodded, “Yes, Gu Kai is worried about Tongtong and Mo Xiuchen is worried about Momo, so they went to D Country together. The international police arrested Li En, and with his prior actions, he will spend his life in prison.”
“I just hope Momo is okay.” She couldn’t truly be at ease without seeing Momo herself—thinking Momo had safely returned home that night, only to find out it was someone else’s child. Mo Xiuchen and Momo would only arrive in G City tonight, and now it was early morning, still a long time away.
Pursing her lips again, she asked An Lin, “What time do Mo Xiuchen and the others arrive in G City tonight?”
