The atmosphere suddenly grew tense!
Gu Kai, in front of so many people, didn’t give Bai Yiyi any face, causing her to go pale. After taking two deep breaths, she managed to control herself, unlike this graceless man, and avoid embarrassment in public.
“Ah Kai, let me take Yiyi and Tongtong back.”
Seeing Bai Yiyi holding back her anger, Fang Zhiwei quickly stood up.
“You all continue to eat, I’ll take Yiyi back. Yiyi, you don’t mind, right?”
Wen Jin stood up leisurely and asked gently.
Bai Yiyi nodded hastily, “No objections, Miss Fang, thank you for your kindness, I’ll go back in President Wen’s car.”
“Hand Tongtong over to me.”
She pursed her lips before she spoke to Gu Kai again.
Gu Kai turned his head, glanced at Wen Jin, and silently handed Tongtong back to Bai Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi took Tongtong and before leaving, said to Bai Xiaoxiao, “Xiaoxiao, tell Ranran in a bit that I won’t be going upstairs.”
“Okay, Brother Wen, drive carefully,” Bai Xiaoxiao waved at them with a brilliant smile.
Wen Jin replied with “okay” and left with Bai Yiyi.
As the car left the villa, Wen Jin turned to look at Bai Yiyi and said gently, “Yiyi, Ah Kai can be bad-tempered; don’t take what he said to heart.”
Bai Yiyi laughed derisively, “Apart from being Tongtong’s father, he has no other connection to me. I won’t mind the attitude and behavior of someone who’s unrelated to me.”
“Heh heh,”
Wen Jin couldn’t help but laugh.
He suddenly understood why Gu Kai could speak so kindly to other women, yet he couldn’t control his temper toward Bai Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi was just like Gu Kai.
Toward anyone other than Gu Kai, she seemed capable of getting along friendly, but toward Gu Kai, she was cold and indifferent.
These two people were like born adversaries, barely able to exchange three words without sparking war.
“What did you mean just now when you said you wanted Ah Kai to call you in advance tomorrow?”
Wen Jin laughed and changed the subject.
In her arms, Tongtong was starting to doze off. Her bright, wide eyes now seemed listless, and she leaned her small face against Bai Yiyi’s chest, her eyelids looking too heavy to keep open.
Bai Yiyi looked down at her daughter with a tender smile in her eyes, gently patting Tongtong’s back while answering Wen Jin, “Miss Fang told me that she and Gu Kai are planning to take Tongtong to the Ocean Park tomorrow.”
“I see,”
Wen Jin realized, as Bai Yiyi’s earlier words had left him perplexed.
Bai Yiyi chuckled, “What else did you think it was?”
“I thought you had agreed to let Ah Kai raise Tongtong,” Wen Jin said half-jokingly while focusing on the road ahead.
Bai Yiyi’s mouth twitched, “How is that possible? Tongtong is my life. I would fight to the death with anyone who tries to take Tongtong away from me.”
For Tongtong’s sake, she had agreed to Gu Kai’s harsh conditions; there was no way she would let Gu Kai raise Tongtong now.

When Bai Xiaoxiao was on her way home, she noticed a taxi following her.
Looking through her rearview mirror, she could only see the driver, a middle-aged man. Remembering the news she had seen recently, she suddenly felt a chill.
Pressing on the accelerator, she sped up.
After another ten minutes or so and a few turns, that car was still behind her.
Bai Xiaoxiao was both angry and somewhat afraid.
She had just eaten dinner at Mo Xiuchen’s house before heading home, and now it was already dark outside. There was a stretch of road ahead with sparse traffic. If the person following her was a criminal intent on robbery or worse, she would be in big trouble.
After hesitating for a moment, she decided to call Meng Ke.
The phone rang twice and Meng Ke’s voice came through, sounding very cheerful, “Hello, Xiaoxiao.”
“Meng Ke, are you free right now?”
“I’m free, Xiaoxiao. What’s up?” Meng Ke asked with concern over the phone.
“I’m on my way home, and someone is following me.”
“Don’t be afraid, and don’t panic. Tell me where you are, and I’ll come find you right now,” Meng Ke spoke in a gentle and calm tone, which soothed some of the unease in Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart.
After she told Meng Ke her exact location, he said he would be there in ten minutes and told her not to be scared.

In a high-end apartment in G City.
An Lin and Qin Mu walked into the living room one after the other. Coming up to the sofa, An Lin threw herself heavily onto it, her head leaning tiredly against the backrest. Kicking off her shoes, she rested her feet on the coffee table and yawned,
“Finally home, I’m dead tired.”
Qin Mu, who followed behind her, frowned displeasedly, walked up to the sofa, and grabbed her ear, saying sternly, “Get up. If you want to sleep, go take a bath and sleep in your room.”
“Ah, that hurts, Ah Mu, let go of my ear.”
An Lin exaggerated her pain, her delicate features scrunching up in agony, “Let go of me.”
“Do you remember what you promised on the way home just now?” Qin Mu said with a stern face as he looked at the now ungainly An Lin. This woman dressed up so fabulously when going out, but as soon as she got home, she lost all sense of image.
“I remember. I’m going to take a shower and sleep,”
An Lin covered her ear with her hand. Couldn’t this man be a little gentler? Her ear must have been pinched red by now.
“Wait a second.”
An Lin stood up, just about to go take a bath, when Qin Mu called out to her again.
“What else is there?”
An Lin pouted, looking at him displeased. His grip had been too harsh.
“I heard from Mo Xiuchen that you plan to stay in G City for work, why didn’t you tell me?” Qin Mu’s eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he looked at An Lin.
An Lin’s expression changed slightly, her beautiful eyes flickering, “I didn’t get a chance to tell you. Last night you were entertaining until midnight, and I waited until half-past eleven, but I was too sleepy, so I went to bed.”
Not only that, but last night she had also taken over Qin Mu’s bed,
Making Qin Mu, the actual owner of the house, have to settle for a guest room.
“Then why didn’t you say so today?” Qin Mu wasn’t going to let An Lin get away with it easily. If she was really going to work in G City, he couldn’t let her stay at his place.
It seemed An Lin knew what Qin Mu was planning. She pursed her lips, playing the poor card, “How could I have had the chance to tell you today? I was so busy helping Ranran with those three little babies that I was falling apart.”
“Why haven’t I heard Ranran complaining about being tired like you?”
Qin Mu gave her a warning cold look, stepped forward, and sat down on the sofa, comfortably waiting for her to explain.
Seeing Qin Mu sitting on the sofa with a stern expression and a severe look, An Lin knew she had to come clean.
So she sighed softly, speaking listlessly, “I was afraid you’d kick me out. When I was alone in City C, managing the company and taking care of myself was so hard, and you living in such a big house alone is such a waste. One more person won’t make it crowded.”
“I’m not used to cohabiting with women,”
Qin Mu cut off An Lin’s words and dropped the cold statement.
