Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage

Chapter 401 - 401: 401 – Until… he met that man

A roar from the ancient past echoed through the current age—the might of the Death God Dragon King!

It shook the souls of every dragon across dimensions. Their livers trembled, their blood ran in reverse, and none dared to meet its gaze.

“Dragon Curse – Blazing Meteor Shower!”

A rain of hellfire meteors darkened the skies, crashing down on Velorith with apocalyptic force.

Explosions tore through the air as flaming stone fragments rained chaos. Velorith grit her teeth, forced to abandon her assault on Orson and transform back into her full dragon form to scatter the barrage with her breath.

“Hah… Hahaha!”

Orson couldn’t help but laugh—half joy, half tears.

“My master shall reign eternal!”

A cold, proud voice rang out.

Orson’s eyes widened. He broke into a wild grin. “I knew it! We’re a goddamn unbeatable duo!”

The Crimson Lizard King had transformed entirely into radiant crimson-gold. Her colossal form continued to grow, and waves of pure death energy surged from her scales.

Wherever that aura spread, plants withered, insects died, and even ancient, unyielding stone turned to dust.

She unfurled her immense wings, stretching them freely like a bird finally freed from its cage.

A dragon soaring through the heavens.

A fish dancing joyously beneath a bridge.

“The Death… God Dragon King?!”

Velorith blasted through the meteor storm, only to freeze at the sight before her—her bright blue pupils trembled in fear.

That figure, cloaked in crimson-gold and radiating death, shook her to the core.

Ancestral memories surged from the depths of her bloodline:

Screams.

Howls.

Despair.

The final cries of prey. The unbearable sorrow of the dragon race.

The Death God Dragon Clan— a royal lineage spanning two entire epochs.

According to ancient dragon lore, the first dragons were created using the corpse of the mightiest Death God Dragon.

From the skin came the Purple-Gold Dragons, gifted with unmatched vitality.

From the skull, the Dark Dragons, blessed with cunning intellect.

From the eyes, the Golden Dragons, born of bloodlust and wrath.

From the heart, the Holy Light Dragons, masters of space and light.

And from the claws, came the Lightning Dragons, inheriting the strongest offensive power.

All eight major dragon lineages inherited a fragment of the Death God Dragon Clan’s greatness.

After millennia of evolution, they became the sky’s dominant rulers.

Velorith stood paralyzed as the Crimson Lizard King caught Orson mid-air with thunderous speed.

The chaotic duo was reunited once more.

“Your beast, Transport Tool No. 1, has awakened her innate King’s Authority: [Unity of Will].”

Effect: Life shared with summoner. All non-dragon innate skills and magic are shared with the summoner.

“Your beast, Transport Tool No. 1, has inherited Draconis’s King’s Authority: [Death’s Contempt].”

Effect: Ignores all King’s Authorities below God-level among dragons.

The notifications rang back-to-back. Orson was stunned. “Two Authorities?!”

He inhaled sharply and checked her stats.

[Death God Dragon Clan – Underworld Sovereign – Descendant of Draconis | Level 81]

[King-Class Beast]

HP: 960 million

ATK: 80,000

Crit Rate: 80%

Skills: Death Breath, Death Body Domination, Ancient Will Awakening II, Blazing Meteor Shower, Choosy Eater, [Slot Empty], [Slot Empty]

King’s Authority 1: Unity of Will

King’s Authority 2: Death’s Contempt

This wasn’t a simple power-up—this was evolution.

Her HP had skyrocketed from 360 million to nearly a billion. Every skill had undergone a qualitative leap. And now she wielded two King’s Authorities!

“Skill sharing…?”

Orson grinned slowly, raising his Supreme Arcane Blade and aiming it at Velorith.

“Let’s test this out.”

He slashed—summoning an enormous six-pointed star. But it wasn’t the usual crimson red of Chaos magic.

It gleamed—brilliant and majestic—crimson-gold.

“Dragon Curse…”

Orson’s smile widened. “Blazing Meteor Shower!”

BOOM.

BOOM.

BOOM.

Hundreds of flaming meteors, each over 100 meters wide, appeared behind him. The sky looked like it was on fire. The heat enveloped all of Pondenorlin City.

“Holy sh*t! Level 10 S-rank fire magic?!”

Orson’s heart raced. If players saw this, they’d rip their headsets off in disbelief.

A player was casting a Dragon Curse spell.

The sheer area, force, and intensity was beyond anything an NPC or player should ever wield.

Thanks to dragon physiology, all spells learned were instantly imbued with “Dragon Curse” power—meaning they were automatically Level 10.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

A downpour of fire engulfed Velorith. She dodged and countered with everything she had, but she was still sent tumbling by the sheer volume of hits.

Velorith: “Even if you are a Dragon God—I’ll slaughter you both!”

A deafening roar ripped the sky apart. Lightning surged around her as a sea of electric blades collided with the meteors.

Her lightning sword shone with blinding brilliance as it shattered meteor after meteor.

“Yeah, keep posturing!”

Orson wasn’t fazed. Unlike the Crimson Lizard King, who loved to spam skills like a madwoman, his spellcasting was calculated.

He intentionally held some meteors back.

Just as Velorith’s counter-spell ended, he launched the remaining fireballs.

BOOM!

Caught off-guard, she was blasted out of the sky.

Slam – 1 million!

Crippling Strike – 4 million!

Dust flew as Velorith hit the ground hard.

Back on solid ground, Orson glanced sideways at his beast and muttered:

“Let’s finish this.”

Crimson Lizard King: “?????”

She clearly didn’t get what he meant—but seeing the serious look in his eyes, her own gaze turned sharp. Her tail cracked the air as she shot toward Velorith like a red bullet.

King’s Authority – Death’s Contempt!

A wave of death energy erupted outward, painting five kilometers of sky pitch black.

A black rose bloomed across the land.

King’s Authority: Disabled!

All buffs: Removed!

Velorith shuddered.

This was why the Holy Light Dragon King fled at the mere sight of Draconis’s soul.

Draconis was the Sovereign of the Underworld—master of the death laws.

Even as a living Death God Dragon King, he possessed a unique ability that countered all dragons:

Dragon Law Nullification.

Unless you were an Ancient Dragon God, your so-called King’s Authority meant nothing in his presence.

And Draconis wasn’t just a magic caster—he was a hand-to-hand slaughter monarch, who once single-handedly dominated all dragons.

Until… he met that man.
