Chapter 764: Mother’s Meeting (2/2)
As they watch Michael spitting blood on the floor, Cecilia and her group feel a mix of confusion and a strange sense of familiarity towards the two mysterious figures.
Zoe’s uncanny resemblance to Eve is startling; she’s almost an exact copy, with only some differences in the shade of pink and length of their hair.
While Eve always appeared cold and calm, Zoe is the opposite, displaying a personality that’s a blend of Donna’s hot-headedness and Naomi’s boldness.
But Cecilia and the other women are puzzled about how the still-hooded mysterious figure can seem familiar when all they see of her is the tips of her red hair and hear her sweet, enigmatic voice.
As the group remains speechless and immobile due to the tension, Michael begins to rise and shout at the hooded woman.
"This wasn’t the deal, you bit-" He tries to insult her, but Zoe steps on his head, pressing his body against the ground and silencing him.
"I won’t steal your death from Eve, but I won’t let you insult my mother either," Zoe speaks in a wild tone.
The fact that she continues to refer to the hooded woman as her mother infuriates Michael and confuses Cecilia. Everyone was certain that Eve’s mother had died, but now they aren’t sure what to believe.
While Zoe keeps Michael silenced, the mysterious figure approaches Cecilia’s group. "You don’t have to fear us, neither me nor Zoe."
Cecilia instinctively steps back, as do Mara and Emma, while Avery doesn’t give in to fear and prepares to fight.
But Serena steps forward, facing the mysterious woman with a curious yet gentle expression. "Who are you?"
"I am not Zoe’s original mother, in case you’re wondering," the woman responds calmly. "But she is my daughter, and she’s not the only bond that unites us as a family."
Serena ponders this and immediately concludes, "You are Lucien’s mother..."
"Yes," the woman nods. "And while Michael was the starting point of our bonds, he is now completely dispensable, while our children are what truly matter."
Serena appears thoughtful, but Mara immediately doubts the mysterious woman’s words. "Why do you hide your face if we have met before?"
The mysterious woman keeps her face covered by the hood. "I have a complex condition right now... if I reveal my face, things might become confusing for you."
Serena and the others try to recall Lucien’s mother’s face but find they cannot, just like everyone else who has seen her. This is strange, as they are certain they have seen her before, but such memories become really muddled.
"Is this some kind of magic?" Serena asks.
"Something like that," the woman speaks. "But do not fear, this is for your protection, not to cause harm."
"To protect us from what?" Emma asks.
"From destiny." The mysterious woman’s answer leaves the group even more perplexed.
But before any of them can ask further, she continues, "The more you question, the more dangerous things can become. Destiny is ruthless, so we must act cautiously."
Cecilia and the others don’t understand what’s happening, but somehow, they feel inclined to trust this supposed mother of Lucien.
"We always suspected that someone was helping Michael from the shadows..." Mara comments.
"Yes, it was me," the woman responds honestly. "I didn’t create your situation or Michael’s plans, but I added elements to the equation of destiny ."
Her words are enigmatic, leaving the group with more and more questions in their minds, but they are afraid to ask questions that might endanger everything they cherish.
The mysterious woman sees this and her tone becomes even more friendly and gentle. "I shouldn’t appear like this and leave you all confused, but I understand your suffering as a mother and came here to ease your hearts."
Cecilia and her group are relieved to hear this, and Serena asks, "Can you tell us where they are now?"
"No," the woman responds quickly. "There’s a limit to how much I can interfere without influencing their decisions, and that’s why I’m trying to keep a distance now because..."
"Destiny is ruthless?" Mara notes that the mysterious woman fears something, something she cannot comprehend.
"Exactly," she responds.
The group becomes more tense, and Mara speaks again. "I suppose you can’t tell us much more about them then, right?"
"Unfortunately, yes," the woman speaks in a regretful tone. "But I can say that they are very strong together... and nothing can separate them now."
Those words provide hope and comfort to the mothers’ hearts.
"Thank you," Serena expresses her gratitude on behalf of the group.
The mysterious woman nods slightly, careful not to reveal her face. "I didn’t come here just for this, but also to fulfill my promise to Michael and offer you an opportunity."
Michael desperately wants to shout now, but Zoe keeps him silenced on the ground with her foot.
Cecilia and her group are curious, and the mysterious woman gets straight to the point.
"I promised Michael power for his revenge and to protect his people," she explains. "But I also promised him a new beginning."
Cecilia and the others think the same thing. "Is this about the Sins?"
"Michael thought so," the woman responds. "But in fact, I’m going to give you a bit of power directly."
Michael is confused, as is the group of mothers.
Before they can ask, she extends her hand, and six small glowing orbs appear in the air, each a different color.
With a slight gesture, she sends the black orb flying towards Zoe, who catches it in her hand.
"This ends my debt to you, Michael," the woman speaks in a cold tone, different from how she speaks to the group of mothers.
Zoe removes her foot from Michael’s head and immediately forces him to swallow the black orb with a punch that breaks half of his teeth.
He is furious and even fearful, but then he feels an explosion of power within him, unleashing a vast amount of dark energy.
He understands power levels well enough to realize his body is advancing through the last layers of the Sky Realm and reaching the Immortal Realm.
The most incredible part comes next, as he continues advancing layers until he reaches the peak of the Immortal Realm.
The entire process takes several minutes, and everyone watches intently until Michael rises, completely rejuvenated and more powerful than ever.
"So much power..." He is incredulous and ecstatic.
Zoe shakes her head. "You don’t deserve this, fucking piece of shit!"
Michael is furious and tries to slap Zoe’s face. "Don’t speak like that to your fath-"
*BAM!!!*
But despite his speed being thousands of times superior to what it was an hour ago, he still can’t even see Zoe’s movement before she sends him flying with a punch.
*Whoosh* *BOOOM*
Michael’s body crashes through several walls of his castle before landing on the mountain, creating a huge crater.
But aside from the pain, his body is completely fine, which makes him very happy.
Meanwhile, back in the castle hall, the group of mothers looks at the mysterious woman with conflicting expressions.
"Don’t look at me like that," she requests amiably. "I deeply despise that man for how he treated you and our children."
"But I promised him power, and now I owe him nothing more," she explains. "I also promised a new beginning for his people, and that will happen in a month."
Before anyone can ask what will happen, she elaborates. "Now Michael has the power to destroy the Silver Legion alone, and after that, I will open a portal to take his people to a new world, where they will have the opportunity to start over."
The group of mothers shares the same concerns, but the next words of the mysterious woman bring them some confidence.
"However, these gifts..." She makes each of those small orbs float in front of each of the mothers, matching their elemental affinity.
"These are some of the most powerful elemental seeds ever created and can grant you power similar to Michael’s," the woman explains.
"It’s up to you to accept them, as you become the sole leaders of your realms and peoples once again," she speaks amiably. "Thus, I offer you the same proposal, to take your people to a world with better potential."
The mothers ponder over this, and Mara quickly asks, "Will it be dangerous?"
"There’s always danger," the woman speaks honestly. "But in this new world, you will have better opportunities to grow stronger and, most importantly, to have a fresh start."
"And our children?" Emma asks on behalf of the group.
"I can’t promise that they will go there," she replies. "But I believe they might."
Avery looks at the red orb in front of her, thinking of her daughter. "If these seeds are so powerful, why not give them to our children?"
Before the mysterious woman can respond, Emma does. "Fate... right?"
The woman nods. "Yes, these seeds grant immense power quickly, but they limit potential, especially of the soul. It wouldn’t be a problem for you, but our children are destined to soar much higher, and I can’t hinder their advancement."
The group of mothers has many doubts and concerns, but the mysterious woman appears to genuinely have good intentions.
As the others merely gaze at the orbs with thoughtful expressions, Serena steps forward and picks up the green orb in front of her.
"I don’t want to have any regrets ever again, so I will consider your proposal," she says with determination.
"That’s fine, you can think about it," the woman speaks. "But remember that we need to settle everything and depart in a month."
"Mm." Serena and the others nod in agreement.
