Chapter 4746: Careless

“Alright, hurry up and go take a bath!” The Azure Emperor waved his hand, motioning for the two disciples to leave. “Practice on your own these days, and wait for your Senior Brother to return before coming to see me.”

“Yes,” the two replied, bowing respectfully before retreating.

On their way back to their respective cave abodes, Yue’er excitedly recounted to her brother, Muchen, everything she had encountered during her days outside, including how she had cleverly acquired those crystal cores.

“Brother, did you encounter anything interesting outside?” Yue’er asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

At her question, Muchen’s expression shifted. “I met a lady,” he began. “She looked very weak, but she was actually incredibly strong and powerful. Meeting her made me understand something.”

Yue’er blinked, her curiosity piqued. “What did you understand?” she asked.

Muchen looked at her, his expression serious. “You can’t judge things by appearances. The more delicate a woman seems, the more powerful she may be, and the more deceitful she is.”

“Deceitful?” Yue’er was taken aback for a moment, then her beautiful eyes crinkled with a smile. “Brother, Yue’er doesn’t often deceive people! Yue’er only deceives bad people occasionally.”

Muchen’s lips curved slightly, his small face softening a little. He reached out and playfully ruffled her “bird’s nest” hair. “Mm, big brother knows that Yue’er has always been very good and very smart.”

“Big brother, I’m going to go take a bath and change my clothes first. I’ll buy a lot of good food when I come back, and we can eat under the tree,” Yue’er said, waving at him as she headed towards her cave abode.

On the other side, Hao’er found himself in a dire predicament.

In a quiet alley in a small town, he had spotted a medicine peddler selling some rare and unknown seeds on the ground. Intrigued, he squatted down and carefully selected a few, planning to take them back to Yue’er. Unexpectedly, just as he finished paying and was about to stand up, he was suddenly struck by a stick. Before he could even react, he was knocked unconscious.

In the brief moment before he lost consciousness, he was filled with regret and self-reproach. He had been careless, foolishly believing that nothing untoward would happen in such a seemingly ordinary place. It was precisely this carelessness and complacency that had landed him in danger.

When he finally came to, he found himself confined within a small, pitch-black room. He couldn’t see anything in the oppressive darkness, but he could hear the distinct sounds of disordered breathing and suppressed sobbing coming from nearby.

He exerted himself, managing to sit up in the corner, and cautiously checked his body to see if anything was missing. He discovered that his cosmos sack had been taken, but to his relief, his interspatial ring was still present. Most of his valuable and essential items were stored within this ring, which was no ordinary piece of jewelry. Of the three siblings, only Yue’er possessed an interspatial bracelet, while he and Muchen wore interspatial rings. These rings had been specially modified and upgraded, each possessing a hidden function. As for the contents of the cosmos sack, it held nothing of significant value apart from some daily food and a few gold coins, so he wasn’t particularly concerned about its loss.

But where was he now? Who had captured him? What exactly did they want? These questions swirled ceaselessly in his mind. Although a wave of anxiety washed over him, he had faced many challenges in his life, and gradually, he managed to calm himself.

“Who are you? How did you get here?” he whispered, directing his question to a little boy he sensed was beside him in the oppressive darkness.
