The crowd was frozen in shock. No one could fathom how Long Chen had managed to appear behind Long Zaiye, stabbing Evilmoon directly into his ass.
Before Long Chen could even savor his small victory, Evilmoon’s furious roar echoed in his mind.
“Long Chen, you idiot!”
BOOM!
Long Zaiye’s wings slashed down violently, but Long Chen had already vanished. He retreated swiftly, knowing that engaging too recklessly would be a mistake.
“Don’t get angry,” Long Chen said with a wry smile. “His mouth was just too irritating. Consider it a small lesson.”
“Shut up! If his mouth is the problem, why are you stabbing his butt?!” Evilmoon was livid.
“It’s called teaching from the other—anyway, why are you so worked up? Let’s focus on killing him.” Long Chen dodged the topic, shifting the conversation. Astral light surged beneath his feet as he vanished again.
When he reappeared, he was right in front of Long Zaiye, swinging Evilmoon down with terrifying speed.
“Die!”Long Zaiye roared, the burning pain from his butt fueling his rage. He swung the Dark Demon Spear with explosive power, aiming to slay Long Chen with this blow.
BOOM!
The void fractured, but Long Chen avoided the strike with an almost surreal movement. His saber grazed Long Zaiye’s throat, leaving a shallow cut. Blood sprayed into the air.
Long Zaiye’s face paled. If he had dodged a bit slower, his head would have flown into the air.
BOOM!
The space beneath Long Zaiye’s feet erupted as he launched a barrage of wild attacks with the Dark Demon Spear. Energy rippled outward, shaking the battlefield.
Someone of Jiang Yue’e’s caliber could instantly tell that Long Zaiye was afraid of Long Chen’s bizarre and unpredictable movement techniques, so he tried to force Long Chen back with his barrage of wild attacks.
Long Zaiye unleashed enormous spear-images one after another, filling the battlefield with destructive power and leaving no openings for an attack. The crowd was stunned. Even after such an intense battle, Long Zaiye still had this much energy left. He was truly a monster.
Despite Long Zaiye’s all-out effort, Long Chen stuck to him like a shadow. Evilmoon danced through the air with a deadly rhythm, its black blade glinting ominously. Long Chen maintained a perfect distance—close enough to pressure Long Zaiye but far enough to avoid his attacks.
At this range, Long Chen didn’t need to meet Long Zaiye’s attacks head-on. Instead, he used his movement technique to shed the force of each strike. As a result, Long Zaiye’s energy drained far faster than Long Chen’s.
If this continued, the advantage Long Zaiye had gained from killing countless experts would vanish like smoke in the wind.
By now, it was clear to everyone watching—the battle’s momentum had shifted. In terms of raw power, Long Zaiye had already lost. And when it came to combat skills, he was also no match for Long Chen.
As exhaustion crept in for both fighters, their senses, reflexes, and decision-making started to dull. This was the moment when combat experience became crucial.
Even if Long Zaiye’s power could rival Long Chen’s, their difference in skill and experience was something he couldn’t bridge at this moment. In the blink of an eye, Long Zaiye found himself at a disadvantage once again, his attacks growing sloppier under Long Chen’s pressure.
Watching this, Feng Fei let out a quiet sigh of relief. Long Chen had regained the upper hand despite Long Zaiye’s dirty tricks.
Jiang Yue’e, however, remained on edge. She had promised Feng Fei that she would intervene if Long Chen were in danger, and she was ready to act at a moment’s notice. Though Long Chen now controlled the rhythm of the battle, Jiang Yue’e’s sharp gaze remained fixed on them. The longer the fight dragged on, the more confident she became in Long Chen’s chances of victory.
Seeing the black figure darting through the mass of spear-images with eerie precision, Jiang Yue’e sighed softly. Feng Fei’s judgment was indeed remarkable—this fellow had hidden his true strength well.
Amidst the Long clan, a pair of radiant eyes shone with pride and appreciation. Long Tianrui watched with a faint smile. Of everyone present, only she had never doubted him.
Though Long Tianrui hadn’t spent as much time with Long Chen as Feng Fei, her understanding of his abilities was unmatched. As a fellow possessor of the seven-color Supreme blood, Long Tianrui knew better than anyone just how terrifying Long Chen’s true power could be.
On the battlefield, Long Zaiye continued to unleash wild attacks. His energy drained at an alarming rate as he struggled to keep Long Chen at bay.
Evilmoon hovered nearby like the grim reaper’s scythe, causing Long Zaiye to sweat profusely.
“Keep acting arrogant. Keep bragging,” Long Chen mocked, his voice laced with scorn as he dodged another spear strike. “You even questioned whether I’m a nine star heir? Honestly, I’m starting to wonder if you really defeated those nine star heirs on your own.”
Long Chen now had full control over the battle. Long Zaiye’s exhaustion far outpaced his own, and it was only a matter of time before Long Zaiye lost the ability to fight back.
There was no denying Long Zaiye’s strength. He was powerful, but not as formidable as Long Chen had anticipated. For someone who had slain so many nine star heirs, Long Zaiye should have been more exceptional.
“The nine-star heirs I killed were the real thing!” roared Long Zaiye, his voice brimming with fury as flames seemed to flicker in his eyes. “But in this weakened era, the sparse primal chaos energy in the air restrains the power of my divine wings. In the primal chaos era, you wouldn’t have been able to withstand even three of my attacks!”
His declaration drew everyone’s gaze to his wings, and their hearts trembled. Even in this state, those wings were terrifyingly powerful. Yet, this wasn’t their full potential?
“When I condense the power of nine dragon qi and unseal my divine wings, you’ll kneel and weep beneath my feet!” Long Zaiye bellowed.
BOOM!
Suddenly, Long Chen stopped evading and swung Evilmoon straight into the Dark Demon Spear.
The sudden clash caught Long Zaiye off guard, and the force of it caused him to spit out a mouthful of blood.
“If I had condensed nine heaven vein dragon qi, I wouldn’t even need to lift a finger to kill you. A fart would do the job. Who doesn’t know how to brag?” Long Chen sneered.
With a flash, Long Chen appeared directly in front of Long Zaiye, Evilmoon stabbing toward his chest like a lightning bolt.
Panic flooded Long Zaiye’s face. This was exactly what he feared most. After all, the Dark Demon Spear was ineffective at such close range. While Evilmoon’s massive size made it seem unwieldy, in Long Chen’s hands, it was a deadly, agile weapon, striking through even the smallest gaps.
Suddenly, Long Zaiye’s divine wings shrank and folded in front of him, emitting an incredibly sinister aura. The wings compressed into a shield, gleaming as they blocked Long Chen’s strike.
BOOM!
Evilmoon collided with the wings, and sparks erupted. To Long Chen’s shock, even Evilmoon’s unmatched sharpness couldn’t pierce through them.
What unsettled him even more was the unfamiliar energy radiating from the wings—fluctuations that didn’t belong to the laws of the nine heavens and ten lands.
“Could it be…” Long Chen’s heart trembled as a disturbing possibility crossed his mind.
The shrunken wings now resembled divine weapons, but the transformation came at a cost. Long Zaiye’s aura plummeted, and blood dripped from his mouth.
He was in a terrible state. But all of a sudden, countless runes lit up across his wings.
“Trying to run?” Long Chen’s lips curled up into a cold smile. Evilmoon vanished, replaced by a familiar brick in his hand.
Long Zaiye’s wings unfurled, twisting the space around him. He knew the truth—he couldn’t defeat Long Chen. If he stayed, he would die.
BANG!
Just as Long Zaiye activated spatial energy to flee, the brick smashed into the back of his head with a thunderous crack. His body plummeted like a meteor, slamming into the ground with a deafening crash.
Long Chen prepared to follow up, but before he could act, the entire battlefield trembled. The Jiuli Divine Stele had finally completed its rise from the ground, its overwhelming presence dominating the battlefield.
“Ignore him! Seize the Jiuli runes!” shouted the Earth Cauldron.
