“They finally broke the formation!” Adrian thought as he looked at the direction of the Primordial Beast of Greed before suddenly vanishing from his location.

Adrian immediately commanded Kenos to gather the injured Immortals that were inside of the formation originally. He also quietly stored the two bodies of the jiangshis that they have collected. He slipped personal teleportation scrolls inside each of the bodies of the Immortals. He needed to do this because the real battle is now going to start.

The formation that oozed out its energy suddenly started to shudder. The immense energy that was dissipating suddenly started to gather into one place. Branch Leader Goldenclaw suddenly looked different compared to before as his strength surged to that of a demigod level threat in an instant. The eyes of Branch Leader Goldenclaw suddenly glowed in a pure yellow color as the energy around him started to coalesce inside of him.

Branch Leader Goldenclaw floated to the sky as a powerful aura exploded from his body which actually damaged anyone that is around him. He raised his hands up to gather all the energy that is dissipating from the formation. All of it was his and all of it should return back to him for he is Greed and Greed is Good.

Branch Leader Goldenclaw’s actions also affected the surroundings as Kunlun is no longer at the protection of the formation. The real buildings and street started to shake as the sheer amount of power that Branch Leader Goldenclaw is absorbing could easily level a mountain. Some Immortals wanted to charge at him and kill him while he is busy absorbing energy, but the intensity increases with the distance.

The closer they are to Branch Leader Goldenclaw then the more powerful the pressure that they are going to contend with. Every building around Branch Leader Goldenclaw has already been reduced to rubble as they could not withstand the intensity of the energy. Just as everyone thought that Branch Leader Goldenclaw would succeed in absorbing all of the energy, a sharp sound suddenly pierced the loud explosion of energy.

All of a sudden, the body of Branch Leader Goldenclaw is sliced in half and dropped to the ground. Before them was the absolute powerhouse residing in Kunlun. The leader of the Murim Alliance where thousands upon thousands of Immortals join just to gain his approval. The most powerful being of the Murim Alliance which is none other than the Sword Saint Namgung Myeong.

“Alliance Leader!” The Immortals that saw the scene of Branch Leader Goldenclaw getting sliced in half cheered.

All of the Immortals thought that the fight is now over because the Sword Saint Namgung Myeong has already sliced the enemy in two. They would have continuously cheered if not for the sword saint to suddenly empower his sword and charge once again. The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong charged but he suddenly felt time and space bend as he returned back to his location.

“What is the meaning of this, demon!?” The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong stated as he looked at the being behind him.

“I just saved your life that is all. Kunlun will be wiped out at this rate so command all the formation masters that are under your banner and create one right now.” Adrian stated but the sword saint did not take kindly to his words and actions.

“Why should I heed the words of an outsider?” The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong stated.

“You should do so because I saved your life. You can stop pretending now, Primordial Beast of Greed.” Adrian stated as he looked at the sliced body of Branch Leader Goldenclaw.

The body that was sliced in half suddenly smiled as its two halves moved in unison even if they were separated. The Primordial Beast of Greed could only glare at Adrian as he would have taken a much better body should the sword saint attacked him the second time. The Primordial Beast of Greed is greedy for such a perfect body such as the Sword Saint as it could definitely hold his essence well.

The Primordial Beast of Greed could sense it when his current host was sliced in half. The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong was a man that has full of desires and greed. The greed that he felt might not be material, but it was greed to become stronger and become truly one with the blade. Should the Sword Saint Namgung Myeong go closer to the Primordial Beast of Greed then it would have tried to take the body of the Murim Alliance Leader without any question.

Adrian noticed that the Primordial Beast of Greed was waiting for something and observed first. The moment that he felt that something stirred inside of him as he contains a small fragment of the Primordial Beast of Greed is the moment he needed to act. When Adrian saw the Sword Saint Namgung Myeong charge a second time, he felt the energy of greed inside of him resonate.

“Such a pesky little demon! You already stole some of what is mine and yet you still get in my way!” The Primordial Beast of Greed stated as he used the body of Branch Leader Goldenclaw to speak.

“So, the host is already dead then. I cannot even see the soul of the body owner.” Adrian stated as he cannot see the soul of the real Branch Leader Goldenclaw.

“Do you wish to save the soul of this body? You cannot do that anymore because I have already absorbed him as nourishment. The fact that he gave up his body willingly when I told him that he will enjoy immense wealth and fortune is something that I can truly relish. We were incredibly compatible, but his body was not built for battle.

I would have gotten another vessel that is perfect for battle and with a greed for something almost unattainable, but you stopped me. I guess, I should destroy you and rip apart the part of me that you have devoured. A demon devouring a Primordial Beast is a being that should never exist! We should always be at the top of the food chain!” The Primordial Beast of Greed stated as the body of Branch Leader Goldenclaw suddenly turned into yellow particles.

The yellow particles swirled around and gathered all the remaining energy of Greed in the area. It did not even take long for the real form of the Primordial Beast of Greed to manifest. A large golden toad that has streaks of jade and diamond armor around its large body. Below the large golden toad are numerous golden coins that represent unimaginable wealth but all of them are illusory as it is the aura of the monster itself.

[The Primordial Beast of Greed is the embodiment of Greed itself. All healing that is done in its presence will be reduced by 10%. The reduced healing percentage will be owned by the Primordial Beast of Greed as it claims ownership of everything around it.]

[The Primordial Beast of Greed also reduces the effects of potions by 10%. All potion effects that have been reduced will be applied to it instead.]

[The Primordial Beast of Greed also takes 0.001% of stats of all beings around it every minute. When it reaches its maximum capacity for stats taken, the Primordial Beast of Greed will double in size and double in stats as well.]

“It really is the embodiment of greed. So, are you not going to erect a formation to seal that beast?” Adrian stated as he looked at the dumbfounded Sword Saint Namgung Myeong.

The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong has killed his fair share of beasts, but nothing is as large as the Primordial Beast of Greed. The current size of the Primordial Beast of Greed easily dwarfs the size of a normal person as people are like ants beside it. The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong also only saw beasts of this size and they were the four divine beasts that protected the eastern continent.

“Formation Masters! Create an isolated space that will not affect the real Kunlun! Maintain it with your life or else this monster will destroy everything in its path!” The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong commanded as all of the formation masters in his employ nodded and created a large formation that covered the entirely of Kunlun and isolated them from the real world.
