"I think we should just stay here. Forest has always been protecting us after all.
This might be the forest trying to aid us because we lost a lot of people all of a sudden."
One of them said their opinion. He had a hopeful look on his face, but his voice is not that confident. After all, getting confined by something like that is not exactly a good feeling.
And the bad feelings he and the rest of the giants felt came true, when the forest started indiscriminatingly attacking the people in the camp. All the troops started battling the trees, but just like how humans were helpless against them, the giants were also helpless against these trees.
They felt cornered and exhausted and as the battle went on until the evening, not a single person was left with enough energy to launch an attack.
Sam and Mitra just walked into camp to deal with them.
Just like that, the western front was cleared and the humans were back to being in charge there.
That night, Sam got a message delivered to him by Noah.
'The plan worked very well. It didn't have any problem. I am moving to the five cities. You can take care of the Eastern Front now.'
Those are the contents of the message.
Sam smiled at this. This will save him a lot of time.
"Tell the camp to finish organizing the western front. They can occupy and fortify their defenses there. We are moving to the eastern front from now on."
"What are we going to do on the eastern front?"
"We are not going to drag it out. I spent enough time dealing with Giants, I am about to move to the Demon side of the war. So, we will just finish off the eastern front immediately. I don't have many things to test here.
Once I am done with the war, I have a shit ton of things to experiment with. I have a lot of new research ideas."
"Alright. Let's get this over with. I need a break from this war."
Mitra said and got on his beast.
Sam just shrugged and followed him. After the meeting with Noah, Mitra is not exactly in the best of his moods.
He didn't have any reason to not believe in Sam. After all, Sam has been straight with him since day 1. But to think that the gods they worshipped and believed wholeheartedly in would just use them like some pawns is something he is unable to digest.
All of a sudden, the whole war seemed pointless and when he thought of all the humans that died in front of him. Trying to protect their honor, territory and glory, and to this all of this is not worth anything to the gods that they worshipped all their lives, is unsettling to say the least.
Sam understood his situation.
So, he didn't pressure him too much.
He also felt like he shouldn't have opened it all up to Mitra when he saw him, but in his opinion bitter truth is better than a sweet lie.
After all, if someone is really putting their life on a line, it is better to know what they are giving up their life for and make that decision.
Sam moved to the eastern front and this time, he didn't bother playing cat and mouse. The eastern front is a lot more advantageous to the giants than the western front, so he had to kill a few people in the front lines, to hinder their advance a bit.
Then for the next day, Sam spread some very dangerous traps with the new technique that he used on the western front.
Of course, the eastern front that was already on the backfoot since the time they learned about the attack on the western front and its complete extermination, was caught off guard by this.
They should have expected that something like this would happen, but they were still a few steps lagging behind.
They could brace for the impact.
Sam's attacks were a lot more aggressive as conquered the front lines bit by bit and pushed forwards the camp on the Eastern Front.
While things are like that, the Giants are unable to understand what the hell is happening.
They didn't know why their western front disappeared all of a sudden and they certainly didn't understand what is causing losses.
But before they knew it, after creating all that chaos Sam already went to their rear.
The next thing they knew, attacks are falling off of their camp from all the directions. Sam didn't use most of his normal tricks. All he did was using his puppets and new amplification techniques.
Mitra watched with his mouth wide open as Sam didn't even have to face a single giant directly face to face and fight with them.
In the comfort of his cave, Sam launched an attack that is so big and so disastrous that the main leader of the Giant's invasion that was initially at the five cities had to come back here to defend against them.
Unless that overwhelming level of force was involved, they are unable to block his attacks.
Sam used his crystal tablet to control everything. It is almost like he is playing a video game. He just let himself lose and let the world around him see the destruction he could cause.
Sam was done with the Giants on the third day and he got ready to leave the area and go to the Demons side.
"Why are rushing it all of a sudden? If you had this power, you could have finished this war as soon as you came here? Why did you goof around so much and now you are willing to show your hand?"
"It is pretty simple actually. I just wanted to test myself at the start and I had a lot of time before the fellow players came here to do their missions.
Now, I came across Noah and I have seen her mission progress. She is on my heels. I need to widen the gap."
"Just how many players are there?"
"Seven including myself."
"And all their missions include messing with this war."
"Of course, as I said, the whole war was created just to give us these missions."
"I suddenly have a slight urge to kill you. But I know I shouldn't blame you for this."
"You can try, I don't mind. But do remember, that the backlash is going to be absolute menace.
Anyway, I need to keep the lead between me and the rest of the players. I don't know exactly when they are going to be here and when they are going to catch up, but I need to get out of here as soon as possible."
"I already gave a recommendation to you. When you go to the humans on the South side, you can meet the guy named Lunic. He has the same status as me. He should be able to give you the information needed on the demons."
"Thank you for doing that. But I don't know if I am going to join the army again. The first two times, I joined is because I need the corpses of the giants, Lycans and the demons. It would be a lot easier for you guys to collect them from all the battlefields and it would give me a lot of numbers.
But now that I am in a rush, I will do the work by myself first. I will just go ahead and hunt the Demons.
The only thing I might need help with is that the army can the play the role of distractors while I do the harvesting of lives.
Still, I will meet him and figure the stuff out.
Thanks for your company.
As much as you stupid mouth gets on my nerves, I really enjoyed my stay with you. Just talk less and you would be great."
"You talk more and you would have more friends."
"I already have all the friends I need. Good Bye."
Sam took off immediately.
He reached the location that was previously mentioned and he met with Lunic, his contact in the camp against the Demons.
"Hello, I heard a lot about you from Mitra, even the people facing Lycans have nothing but praises for you. It is really nice meeting you."
"Nice to meet you too, Lunic."
"I will be honest with you, there would be some trouble for me to get you in as the member of our camp. We already got the information from the other two camps. You are stealing too much credit.
As much as the whole war is a disaster and I strongly agree that the credit must not be the primary thing for the humans to focus about, but the problem is, our camp is having it a bit easier compared to the other two camps.
So, everyone is very much focused on the credit and you being here, is an obstacle to a lot of people."
Sam just smiled and took out his handgun. He aimed at a certain person standing a bit away from both of them.
"He is your personal guard?"
"Yes, a good friend too."
*BANG*
A bullet flew right through the forehead of the guy, Lunic's aura raged and he was ready to attack Sam, but the next second, he saw his guard's body glowing and then transforming. A humanoid figure was revealed, but it is nowhere near human.
It gas grey skinned body and looked an awful lot like a man.
"As far as I am concerned Lunic, your camp is on verge of collapse. You don't even know the full extent of the capabilities of what you are facing here.
You might know this already, but the demons you are facing are Shape Shifters and have invaded your camp deeper than you can even imagine."
