Chapter 2006: Resolution
The sudden commotion jolted the tranquil expanse of the pond, startling the ducks into a panicked frenzy.
Observing the startled waterfowl, Shao Yunduan gestured for Songshi to approach with the bamboo pole, intending to further agitate them and drive them away.
Meanwhile, Shao Yunduan and the others pressed on, navigating the water’s depths with difficulty, heading towards the opposite bank.
With a nod, Songshi hastened over, his movements unsteady. From a distance, he bellowed at the ducks, brandishing the bamboo pole to splash the water forcefully.
The pond, spanning over 20 mu, roughly the size of a football field, provided ample space for housing thousands of ducks. Yet, despite its size, it wasn’t boundless.
In mere moments after Songshi’s arrival, while he remained at a distance from the hundreds of ducks, the flock erupted into chaos. Led by one daring duck, they surged forward, propelled by the wind.
Songshi grinned with satisfaction, continuing his efforts to drive them away.
Driven by Songshi’s actions, the ducks careened wildly towards Ah-Ye and his companions.
The once placid water surface now churned with chaos.
Qiao Xuan wasted no time, harnessing her superpower to bolster the feeble water plants at the pond’s bottom, transforming them into formidable obstacles.
In swift succession, someone’s leg became ensnared by the seaweed, causing him to stumble. Before he could regain his footing, a lethal strike found its mark, piercing his heart.
Qiao Xuan couldn’t contain her excitement.
Meanwhile, Ah-Ye and his comrades were equally invigorated.
With only six adversaries remaining on the opposing side, the odds were stacked against them. In a two-against-one scenario, their advantage dwindled further.
The remaining assailants, driven by desperation, launched frenzied assaults on Ah-Ye and his companions, their eyes nearly bloodshot with anxiety.
Their focus shifted from pursuing Shao Yunduan and the others to combating the formidable trio. However, their efforts proved futile as they were thwarted at every turn.
In a stroke of misfortune, each assailant found themselves ensnared by Qiao Xuan’s water plants, meeting their demise one by one.
The murky water provided perfect concealment for Qiao Xuan, her actions shrouded in secrecy.
Unbeknownst to anyone.
Ah-Ye and his companions reveled in their success, assuming the assassins were inept in water. As they dispatched their foes with gusto, they couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. Landlubbers were landlubbers; what prowess could they possibly possess in the water?
Regardless of their martial arts prowess, they were like fish out of water…
In the end, the leader remained alive, albeit unconscious, as Ah-Ye subdued him when he attempted to flee. The two guards swiftly apprehended him.
Shao Yunduan signaled to Ah-Ye.
Though Shao Yunduan shared Ah-Ye’s puzzlement regarding the assassins’ aquatic struggle, he saw it as a stroke of luck.
As Sun Bai and his men arrived on the scene, they witnessed Ah-Ye delivering the final blow to the leader.
Their disbelief was palpable…
How, how, how was this possible?
As soon as they heard Ah-Ye’s whistle, they immediately ran over and arrived in less than 15 minutes.
They didn’t expect the battle here to be over??
Ah-Ye… has he improved even more?
Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan were escorted back to the manor by Sun Bai and Ah-Ye, leaving six guards behind to handle the aftermath.
Once again nestled in his father’s embrace, Anan began to squirm, clearly displeased.
“Dark. Uncomfortable. Don’t!”
