Chapter 2046: A Dog Using Its Master’s Power

But what if they don’t like her? What should she do?

Or perhaps, they hated her?

Could she and Qi still have a future?

Tang Fanghua was consumed with anxiety, her thoughts swirling in turmoil. Just the day before, she had sauntered casually with her maids through the bustling streets of Anze Prefecture City. Spotting the renowned Yue’s dessert shop, she decided to venture inside.

Little did she anticipate the twist of fate awaiting her.

The very person she had been strategizing to win over had been deeply offended by her actions just yesterday!

Recalling the harsh words she had uttered, she felt her face flush with embarrassment.

Qiao Xuan, too, felt stifled by the turn of events. Had she known, she would have had the nanny and Caiyun take Anan elsewhere.

She had hoped the incident from the previous day had blown over, but now, the unexpected resurgence left her feeling even more despondent.

Despite her disdain for Lvying, Qiao Xuan restrained herself from retaliating, refusing to stoop to her level.

She cast a calm glance at Tang Fanghua before speaking, “We’ll abide by your decision. After all, she’s under Miss Tang’s authority. It wouldn’t be appropriate for us outsiders to intervene.”

Qi’s glare bore into Lvying, a mix of guilt and anger brewing within him. He harbored a strong desire to reprimand her harshly.

Under the weight of their collective gaze, Tang Fanghua’s demeanor turned hesitant, her inner turmoil evident on her face.

If she possessed even a modicum of intelligence, she would know what course of action to take.

If her intention truly lay in marrying Qi, she would understand that she couldn’t retain this maidservant.

The Shao Family wouldn’t tolerate the presence of such a malevolent and abusive maid, especially one who targeted the vulnerable and innocent Anan.

Tang Fanghua had no choice but to disassociate herself from Lvying.

Lvying, too, grasped the severity of the situation. Prostrating herself on the ground, she turned to Tang Fanghua, pleading for mercy. “Miss! Miss! I’ve been loyal to you! I recognize my wrongdoing. Please forgive me this once, considering my years of devoted service. I swear I’ll never repeat it! Please, I beg of you, have mercy!”

Tang Fanghua gritted her teeth, her gaze piercing as she glared at Lvying, her resolve hardening.

Qi, incredulous, vented his anger. “What’s the use of keeping such a despicable servant, Miss Tang? Are you truly so attached?”

“I’ve been faithful to you, Miss! I’ve been faithful!” Lvying wailed, her forehead repeatedly striking the ground.

Qi, seething with fury, averted his gaze, consumed by disappointment and guilt.

He realized then that he and Tang Fanghua were fundamentally different individuals.

The Shao Family would never condone the presence of such malice. Their integrity wouldn’t allow it.

Finally, Tang Fanghua made her decision. With gritted teeth, she knelt alongside Lvying. “Lord Shao, Madam Shao, I deeply apologize to you both. It’s entirely my fault! I failed to discipline Lvying properly. While she’s at fault, she doesn’t deserve death. Please spare her!”

Qi’s anger flared. “Miss Tang, refrain from slandering her! When did my brother and sister-in-law indicate they wanted this servant dead?”

Tears welled in Tang Fanghua’s eyes, her voice choked with emotion. “I’m sorry, I spoke rashly. I promise to enforce strict discipline from now on. Such behavior will not be tolerated. If it recurs, there will be consequences. Please forgive me, Lord Shao, Madam Shao. After all, Lvying has been by my side for so many years. We’ve shared hardships together. I simply can’t bear to—”
