Later that afternoon, Shao Yunduan, Qi, and Qin Yuanshan convened in the study, engaging in tea-making and lively conversation. Meanwhile, Qiao Xuan strolled the garden with Anan and Yuan Mi, with Tang Fanghua in tow.
The garden sprawled expansively, enriched by Qiao Xuan’s green thumb. Her affinity with wood empowered the flora to thrive, producing vibrant, lush blooms and robust fruit trees that quickly became a cherished attraction.
Qiao Xuan led Yuan Mi on a fruity excursion, plucking strawberries, mulberries, peaches, plums, dragon fruits, and the last harvest of loquats and bayberries. She even arranged for Jia Heming and his children to join, much to Yuan Mi’s delight.
The allure of strawberries proved irresistible, captivating even the seasoned female general with their delicate, sweet allure.
