Supreme Tamer

Chapter 1632: Chapter 1492: Love at First Sight with a Water-type Soul Pet

Having Huangquan at a young age was a good thing for Chu Mu.

Soul Pets that are mentally mature are very difficult to tame, and even with a soul contract in place, conflicts in understanding can easily arise.

Take for example the soul contract with Yu Suo. If she wasn’t afraid of Chu Mu confining her, Yu Suo would barely listen to a word he said, let alone direct her in battle. This woman might even take over and direct Chu Mu in combat.

This is the trouble with Soul Pets that have already developed mature and complete ideas before signing a soul contract; there is definitely no tacit understanding with the Soul Pet Master.

From the tone of the Fishman Princess, this Huangquan should be a very notorious little bully among the Sea Race, to the point where everyone fears it. And now, she was asking him to teach and guide it onto the right path. Honestly, Chu Mu himself had committed many evils, so this kind of reforming and educating was better left to Ning Man’er.

Anyway, as long as Huangquan was here, Chu Mu always wanted to take a look and give it a try. If he could sign a soul contract, that would be perfect.

The Fishman Princess personally led the way, for Chu Mu and Ning Man’er. It seems that to prevent unexpected incidents, the Fishman Princess intentionally brought some extra Sea Lizard Demon Guards, making it obvious that she was wary of that Huangquan.

After passing through the seafloor abyss of the city, Chu Mu and Ning Man’er followed the Fishman Princess to an even deeper part of the ocean, where they could see the dark contours of the seabed, rugged and uneven.

Suddenly, a deep crevice appeared before them at the bottom of the sea.

It was a terrifying seafloor trench, filled with murky seawater and cold darkness.

The Fishman Princess and her guards led Chu Mu into the trench, and immediately, all the light was swallowed up, leaving them in complete darkness.

The Fishman Princess opened her mouth and spat out a pearl-like object, which emitted a light, illuminating the ferocious features of the trench.

Continuing to descend, Chu Mu now couldn’t tell how deep under the sea they were, as the pressure and resistance of the water became stronger and stronger.

“There is a Barrier here. Below the Barrier is where Huangquan reflects on his wrongdoings,” said the Fishman Princess.

Chu Mu glanced downwards and saw a layer of dark blue water curtain, clearly not belonging to the surrounding water, blocking their way forward. This was obviously an underwater Barrier, and presumably, it was Huangquan who had struck this Barrier, causing the entire Sea Race city to experience a violent shake earlier.

The Fishman Princess was extremely careful and cautious while opening the Barrier, clearly terrified of accidentally letting that creature escape. If that happened, not only would the East Sea have to fend off the invasion of the Catastrophe Sea Demon, but they might also suffer the retribution of the rampant Huangquan, bringing real trouble to the Eastern Sea Region.

The Barrier slowly opened, and four Sea Lizard Monsters swam ahead of the Fishman Princess.

After entering the Barrier, the Fishman Princess immediately closed it, showing her extreme caution.

The four Sea Lizard Monsters stood beside the Fishman Princess, on guard as if facing a formidable enemy. Their deep yellow eyes scrutinized the pitch-black seabed rocks and other potential hiding places around them.

“YOOOOOOOOOO!”

Suddenly, a sharp sound like thunder splitting the air emitted from the water!

The sound made the four Sea Lizard Monsters dizzy, their scale armor which had been snug against their bodies instantly transformed into knife-like blades, ready to defend against an enemy’s attack.

At that moment, a long, nimble shadow shot past the four Sea Lizard Monsters, and its tail suddenly coiled around the body of one of the guards!

The Sea Lizard Monster didn’t even have time to cry out before it was yanked up and violently flung!

“BANG!!!!!!!!!”

The Sea Lizard Monster collided with the seabed rock, creating a large hole upon impact, and causing a violent shake throughout the trench.

“GURGLE GURGLE GURGLE!!!!!!!!!!”

The other three Sea Lizard Monsters, seeing their companion being attacked, were extremely angry. Their bodies instantly transformed into bolts of lightning as they moved through the deep waters.

These three Sea Lizard Monsters, who Chu Mu had seen before as guards to the East Sea Princess, combined, should not be much weaker than a demonized Chu Mu.

The three Sea Lizard Monsters quickly approached the location of the shadow and, using some unknown skill, formed a cylindrical water prison, forcibly suppressing the blurred shadow into a corner.

However, they seemed to act too slowly. Chu Mu saw the shadow becoming more and more indistinct. It was just an illusion, and the real attacking creature appeared behind the three Sea Lizard Monsters!

“SLAP!!!!!”

Chu Mu saw a tail like lightning fiercely striking the three Sea Lizard Monsters. Caught off guard, the force flung them toward the location where the previous Sea Lizard Monster had made the hole, and for a moment, the four Sea Lizard Monsters were crammed together.

“YOO~~ YOO~~~~~~~~~~”

Instead of pursuing them, the creature with the serpent-like tail floated nearby, observing the somewhat embarrassed Sea Lizard Monsters. It seemed like a child, happily slapping its flippers, looking very pleased with itself.

The four Sea Lizard Monsters’ deep yellow eyes displayed anger.

Being at the immortal level, they could be considered Sea Lizard Demon Kings, and within the Sea Race, they were not to be provoked. But now they were being toyed with by this little one, and they could not swallow their pride.

The Fishman Princess kept a certain distance from Little Huangquan, her lips emitting notes as soothing as a lullaby.

“Huang~~~ Huang~~~~~” Little Huangquan leisurely swam, gliding in front of the Fishman Princess.

Its head was bigger than the body of the Fishman Princess, and its huge, pearl-like eyes innocently gazed at her, then curiously at Chu Mu and Ning Man’er behind her.

Through the Fishman Princess’s Sea Light Pearl, Chu Mu could roughly make out the head of Huangquan, as well as its eyes.

Truth be told, those eyes were very bright and pure, giving Chu Mu the impression that it was still a child.

There were horns on its head, smooth and trident-shaped, and it was unclear whether they hadn’t fully developed or that’s just how they were. From its forehead down to its jaw, it was covered with blue scales, smooth and soft. Chu Mu, up close, couldn’t help but want to reach out and touch the soft scales.

It had a face similar to that of a Qilin Clan creature. Chu Mu had seen the Sovereign Qilin before, and its appearance was roughly like this—majestic, solemn, dignified. However, because of the creature’s huge, sparkling eyes, its head seemed somewhat cute and docile.

The body of the Qilin Clan bore resemblance to that of a beast, with a neck, trunk, limbs, and tail.

Chu Mu remembered seeing a Mad Qi Water Beast back when he was in Li City, its body shark-like, with fins but also limbs, and webs between the clawed fingers.

Such Mad Qi Water Beasts were hybrids between the Qilin Clan and Water Beasts, not true Qilin Clan members.

The creature before Chu Mu had a similar body but in a lengthened form, probably about four or five times as elongated as that of a Water Qilin or Water Beast.

The smooth transition from its head, neck, back ridge, hips to its tail formed an exquisite set of water lines.

The head of the Qilin, between the slender body of a Flood Dragon and the robust body of a Qilin beast, had a perfect proportion that combined with a slowly tapering Flood Dragon’s tail…

Chu Mu had seen various types of Soul Pets, many with mixed bloodlines he read about in books, but he had never seen a creature with such a form. Flood Dragons were graceful and ethereal, and their slender bodies endowed them with excellent evasion abilities and nimble modes of change during battles. The Qilin beasts, on the other hand, were predominantly strength-oriented among Beast Clan Creatures—ferocious, strong, and powerful.

Chu Mu felt that the creature before him represented a process of slow elongation from a Qilin beast’s body toward that of a Flood Dragon and then it abruptly stopped at a certain point. That very proportion, by coincidence, created a new perfect form that caused an immediate gleam in the observer’s eye.

The Water-type Soul Pet that Chu Mu sought was not the sort that could only stay in the Ocean, possessing only fins. He desired a Soul Pet that could stand on Land, one that wielded water to engulf the Continent, and it also had to have an absolute advantage in battle within the Ocean!

This requirement, in truth, was rather challenging, as Ocean Soul Pets and Land Soul Pets do not blend as easily as Elemental and Demon beasts.

This was also why Chu Mu had not yet chosen the Water-type Soul Pet he desired.

So, when Chu Mu observed the special physical form of Huangquan, he felt his heart pounding with excitement!

Just as men have a standard for the dream lover in their inner world, when such a dream lover appears in reality, it’s easy to fall in love at first sight.

Chu Mu had a similar feeling when he saw Huangquan!

Yes, this was the Water-type Soul Pet he had been searching for!!!

Before stepping onto the path of a Soul Pet Master, Chu Mu had sketched a blueprint for himself, simply put, he had made a list of Soul Pets he wanted to acquire.

Chu Mu’s current list of Soul Pets was almost complete: Mo Ye, White Demon, Ning, Demon Tree, Ye, Zhan Ye, Ghost Monarch, Qin, Little Hiding Dragon, Dream of Oblivion… Eh, Yu Suo was long dragged into Chu Mu’s blacklist.

Mo Ye perfectly embodies the Demon Spirit, Beast, and Elemental types, with abilities in speed, strength, and Flame.

The White Demon represents an odd and diabolic union of Different Race, Darkness, and Demon Flame attributes.

Ning possesses the absolute purity of the Ice Element, the sovereign of ice and snow.

Demon Tree has the Plant-derived Species’ composure and calmness.

Ye combines absolute speed with absolute evasion, along with the stealth of darkness and the ability to shuttle through Dreamland…

Zhan Ye is the ultimate embodiment of a beast and insect, the hard-headed Soul Pet fashioned by Chu Mu himself, wild and unyielding!

The Ghost Monarch represents two extremes—absolute Strength and absolute Defense!

Qin embodies the pure Wind Element, gentle as a breeze in tranquility, fierce as a Storm in anger.

The Little Hiding Dragon is a unique Soul Pet with incomparable attributes; even though it’s not on the list, Chu Mu would still cherish it deeply.

Dream of Oblivion’s dark charm and cold beauty, the elegance and agility in the sky, and the bizarre and gorgeous Skills… Also a Winged Soul Pet that captured his heart at first glance.

So, what about the Water-type Soul Pet?

Chu Mu couldn’t fully picture his standard for a Water-type Soul Pet, but upon seeing Huangquan, he knew it absolutely fit his criteria!

He would do anything to acquire Huangquan! (.)
