Chapter 1633: Chapter 1493: Strange Huangquan

Huangquan stared with those round, sparkling eyes, apparently it had never seen humans before, and was curiously sizing up Chu Mu’s legs.

It was probably wondering, how can such legs move in the water?

Huangquan seemed to have discovered that Chu Mu used some kind of power to isolate himself from the water and slowly reached out its claws to touch Chu Mu’s space barrier.

This space barrier was used by Chu Mu to isolate the water, allowing him to move more freely.

Seeing Little Huangquan curiously reaching out its claws, a smile appeared on Chu Mu’s face.

It looked quite cute, why did the Fishman Princess describe Little Huangquan as such a heinous creature?

Just when Chu Mu was puzzled, he suddenly noticed Little Huangquan’s fin claws suddenly flashing coldly, unleashing a sharp force!

This claw strike had powerful tearing strength, instantly ripping a hole in Chu Mu’s space barrier!

Chu Mu was now beneath the seafloor trench; the water pressure was extremely high, and a fissure in his space barrier turned the water flow into sharp swords piercing Chu Mu’s body.

Chu Mu was still immersed in his fondness for Little Huangquan when the creature suddenly attacked!

“Swish!!!!!”

Water sprayed through the fissure, tearing open a wound on Chu Mu’s chest!

Fresh blood slid down his chest, looking as if he had been stabbed with a sword!

“Brother!!!!” Ning Man’er was scared pale.

The Fishman Princess was also stunned and quickly ordered the Sea Lizard Guard to protect Chu Mu.

“Gurr~~~~~~gurr~~~~~~~~~”

Little Huangquan was flapping its fin arms, appearing very happy, and its agile body was moving fast in the water, wrapping and rotating around, stirring up the sea water vigorously!

The water churned into a vortex by its movement. The Sea Lizard Monsters tried to contain it, but were unable to due to the turbulent water flows.

Seeing Chu Mu injured, the Fishman Princess quickly extended her palm and placed it on Chu Mu’s chest.

There was blood on the cut on Chu Mu’s chest, but it wasn’t flowing out. When the Fishman Princess’s fair hand pressed on it, Chu Mu immediately felt a warmth.

A tingling sensation, Chu Mu felt his muscles regenerating, and the pain gradually subsided.

Chu Mu looked down and saw a calming glow from the palm of the Fishman Princess, who was bowing her head and softly chanting a spell like a song…

Before he realized it, the wound had healed. Chu Mu, somewhat surprised, looked at the Fishman Princess and said, “Is this the healing technique of your Fish people?”

“Yeah, we excel at healing and spiritual power,” said the Fishman Princess. She glanced at the unrestrained Little Huangquan and said apologetically, “It has always been so willful, boasting strong prowess, and there are few in the Sea Race who can control it.”

“It’s alright, it’s just a child who is a bit too naughty,” Chu Mu didn’t mind.

“If it were only as simple as being naughty…” The Fishman Princess said with a bitter smile and shook her head.

“Brother, this creature is very strange, it doesn’t even pay attention to me,” said Ning Man’er.

Ning Man’er naturally had the ability to be close to most creatures, but Little Huangquan hadn’t glanced at Ning Man’er from start to finish, which meant Ning Man’er’s enchanting aura had no lure for it at all.

This was bad news for Chu Mu. His original intention was to have Ning Man’er use her natural abilities to get closer to Little Huangquan and then slowly deceive the mentally immature creature. But unexpectedly, Little Huangquan completely ignored Ning Man’er, a very rare phenomenon indeed, considering Ning Man’er was usually irresistible to all soul pets!

“Can you communicate with it?” Chu Mu asked.

“Sure I can, but it ignores me,” Ning Man’er said huffily.

Ning Man’er was also encountering such a peculiar soul pet for the first time.

The Fishman Princess swam to Little Huangquan’s side, communicating with it in a singing voice.

Little Huangquan was an unruly creature, causing trouble now and then and bullying the Sea Lizard Monsters, but it just wouldn’t listen to the Fishman Princess.

The Fishman Princess was truly at her wit’s end.

“If you keep this up, my father will confine you for even longer,” the Fishman Princess said to Little Huangquan.

Chu Mu couldn’t understand their Sea Race language; it was Ning Man’er who was translating.

“Whine~~~~ Whine~~~~~~~” Little Huangquan made its noise, indicating what Ning Man’er saw as an indifferent attitude.

The Fishman Princess would rather send this plague god away as soon as possible. The East Sea is already chaotic enough; if this creature went berserk one day…

“Let’s leave this place first. Its temper is quite strange. It’s manageable when normal, but when it’s not…” The Fishman Princess helplessly shook her head.

The four Sea Lizard Monsters that the Fishman Princess brought have been thoroughly bullied by Huangquan, which seemed to find them boring. Huangquan’s eyes occasionally darted towards Chu Mu, as if looking to cause trouble for Chu Mu.

However, the creature was quite alert. It seemed to understand that Chu Mu’s strength exceeded that of the Sea Lizard Monsters. Aside from that successful sneak attack just now, it had not dared to approach Chu Mu, fearing retaliation.

Chu Mu could tell that Huangquan was indeed a troublesome fellow. If communication was impossible, then persuading it to become his Soul Pet would be out of the question, and force certainly wasn’t a solution here.

Most importantly, Chu Mu knew that he couldn’t solve the problem by force. Being in the deep sea, Chu Mu’s power was greatly suppressed, while Huangquan could move freely. Judging by the strength Huangquan just displayed, it wasn’t certain whether Chu Mu could subdue it; it might be the other way around.

This correctional teaching would have to be considered in the long term.

The barrier of the seafloor trench closed again. Little Huangquan seemed to dislike solitude and, after the Fishman Princess and Chu Mu left, it became even more furious, striking against the barrier, trying to break free.

“Do you have any ideas?” the Fishman Princess asked Chu Mu.

“Keep it locked up for a while,” said Chu Mu.

“If it’s locked up too long, it’ll become even angrier when it gets out,” the Fishman Princess remarked.

“No worries. It’s already holding a grudge for being locked up by you in the East Sea; a bit longer won’t make much difference. It’s evident it likes to play, but the play is a bit too rough,” said Chu Mu, “Keep it locked up for some time. Ignore it no matter how it vents, with the attitude that it might just be imprisoned there forever.”

“This…” The Fishman Princess hesitated.

Who in the entire Sea Race would dare to imprison this little Buddha?

“Yeah, I agree with the Young Master’s approach. Just like a human child, the more you indulge it, the more its temperament will be reinforced. Little Huangquan is naturally playful; we do not know what has caused this playfulness and naughtiness to escalate endlessly, and its destructive power is astonishing. The more the Sea Race fears it and refrains from taking a tough stance, the more it contributes to tyranny. Perhaps, once its mind matures and its power grows stronger, another Ancient Jiao Person will be born,” said Fox Elder.

“You are…” When the Fishman Princess saw Fox Elder, she opened her mouth in surprise, “Isn’t this the wise one from the Demon Race?”

“Hehe,” Fox Elder let out a dry laugh.

As an envoy from another prosperous clan, Fox Elder was too ashamed to say he was kicked out…

“Yes, my point exactly. It needs discipline and boundaries, otherwise, when it treats damage, humiliation, and destruction as entertainment, its aggressive instincts and bloodlust will be extremely horrific once it matures,” Chu Mu said.

Huangquan, like all creatures with wisdom, has its own personality and nature. Since the Sea Race is a civilized ocean kingdom, the formation of such monstrous children of the deep sea like the Ancient Jiao People must have had certain early causes.

Who can guarantee that the Ancient Jiao Person wasn’t like Little Huangquan in his youth, acting recklessly and indulged without limits?

When taming Soul Pets, Chu Mu always maintained strictness, paying attention to their character development. It was just like with the Little Hiding Dragon’s initial over-reliance; Chu Mu had mercilessly thrown it into a pile of monsters to battle, allowing it to hone its skills amidst countless scars.

If this is Little Huangquan’s temperament, of course, Chu Mu would have to correct it first.

After all, Huangquan is his Water-type soul pet. Once Chu Mu has set his mind on it, even if a soul contract hasn’t been signed, he considers Huangquan under his care!

“Alright, then we’ll do as you say. I’ll explain it to my father and hope that your method will work,” the Fishman Princess revealed a slight smile.

With someone willing to take on this matter, the Fishman Princess couldn’t ask for more. She would make great efforts to help Chu Mu.

Moreover, from Chu Mu’s memories, the Fishman Princess knew that Chu Mu was an extremely outstanding human Soul Pet Master. Perhaps this human really could gain control over the uncontrollable Little Huangquan.

“I am quite puzzled about one thing. How does it possess such great strength at such a young age?” Chu Mu inquired.

“It’s said to have accidentally ingested some special cultivation immortal object, and its growth and metamorphosis’s speed are many times faster than a regular Huangquan,” explained the Fishman Princess.

“Could its temperament be related to the thing it ingested by mistake?” Chu Mu asked.

“This… I don’t know much about that either,” admitted the Fishman Princess.

“Yeah,” Chu Mu nodded.

Chu Mu remembered Ye Qingzi saying that some overly powerful immortal objects could stimulate the spiritual world of Soul Pets, much like Chu Mu’s demonization; during which his soul and consciousness endure the most painful burning of the Demon Flame, in those states, he was unable to think, only able to vent his inner restlessness and bloodthirst.

Maybe Little Huangquan’s quirkiness is related to whatever it accidentally ingested.
