Chapter 1643: 1503: The Grand Instructor of the Imperial Clan, Yu Wind Flute

Chapter 1643: Chapter 1503: The Grand Instructor of the Imperial Clan, Yu Wind Flute

The people of Hecheng traveled all the way with New Moon Land and even under the watchful eyes of other powers as they entered Liangkun Mountain, they showed no intent of dissociating themselves from New Moon Land.

After entering Liangkun Mountain, the servants of the Royal Clan were already there to receive them at the Mountain Gate.

Atop Liangkun Mountain was a mountain villa like a paradise on earth, divided into many peaks. The Main Peak Villa was the meeting place for this conference, where representatives of various powers and invited guests would gather and discuss matters.

The other mountain peaks mostly housed Guest Villas, each peak hosting one power, and some peaks were chained together, allowing two allied powers to reside there for convenient interaction.

“Master Lin Xian of Hecheng, please follow this old servant,” the Old Housekeeper of the Royal Clan said with a warm smile, leading the way for Lin Xian and the others.

Another Elder was receiving the people from New Moon Land, her demeanor not as warm, only uttering a curt ‘please’ before leading them to another mountain villa.

Liu Binglan glanced at Lin Xian, ready to say some parting words to him, but at that moment Lin Xian stopped the Elder leading the way for New Moon Land.

“What matter does City Lord Lin have for this old woman?” the Elder asked.

“Arrange a connected mountain villa for us, we are independent territories, and we have much in common to discuss,” Lin Xian said.

The Elder didn’t know how to respond, as the villas reserved for most powers had been listed beforehand, and they were all acting on orders without prior encounters of non-compliance to the arrangements.

At this point, the Old Housekeeper gently intervened, “Each villa is arranged in the name of a power. The villas of New Moon Land and Hecheng are not far from each other, which will facilitate your communication. Moreover, the villas surrounding Lord Lin host experts from major powers, which would enable you to make better connections.”

“I hit it off with Lady Liu of New Moon Land, and our conversation was very enjoyable. I’m not interested in making other acquaintances. Hospitality is key; can you not even accommodate this small request?” Lin Xian said, somewhat displeased.

“This… I must consult the Master then; please rest in the Public Hall for the time being,” the Royal Clan Old Servant replied.

“Yeah, go ahead,” Lin Xian said.

After the Old Servant and the Elder departed, Liu Binglan looked indifferently at Lin Xian, secretly puzzled: Who has become so well-acquainted and enjoyed such agreeable conversations with you? Over the past few days, she barely spoke with the Vice City Master, and their exchanges were mostly courtesies and formalities.

“Hey, Shen Mo, could it be that this City Lord Lin has taken a fancy to our Lady Liu?” Pang Yue whispered to Shen Mo.

“Probably, but I thought City Lord Lin was a quiet and honest man who rarely spoke; turns out he can tell such lies without even blinking. If I hadn’t been sure that he hadn’t spoken much to Lady Liu along the way, I almost would’ve believed what he just said was true,” Shen Mo replied.

As the two whispered, Lin Xian tasted his tea, and after a while, as if remembering something, he said to Liu Binglan next to him, “Oh, I took the liberty earlier, Madame, you don’t mind, do you?”

Liu Binglan shook her head. Since the Elder was sent away by Lin Xian after he had spoken, even if she minded, there was nothing that could be done about it.

This was good too; such an act by Hecheng essentially indicated that they were allies of New Moon Land, which was good news for New Moon Land.

Before long, the Old Housekeeper returned to the Public Hall with the same warm smile, leading people from New Moon Land and Hecheng to a connected chain of mountain Villas for rest.

The connected peaks generally consisted of two Guest Villas, with Sky Corridors and cliff Attics connecting the two, making it indeed convenient for interactions.

“Oh, Mr. Bai Yu, we have made special arrangements for you. Will you stay here, or…” The Old Housekeeper seemed to suddenly remember something and said to Bai Yu as he was leaving.

“I’ll stay here, call for me if needed,” Bai Yu replied.

“Understood.”

After the Old Housekeeper went down the mountain path and walked on the stone staircase, suddenly two figures appeared in front of this Royal Clan Old Servant.

The Old Housekeeper was not panicked but looked at the two men calmly, “There was no way around it, I was planning to arrange New Moon Land in a more remote mountain villa for your convenience to act, but the City Lord of Hecheng requested to stay with them…”

“Is City Lord Lin of Hecheng out of his mind!” Chen Jing cursed loudly.

They were already in Liangkun Mountain, where it was very dangerous to take action, but they had no choice but to complete the orders of the Old Lady.

The two were prepared to take risks on Liangkun Mountain, yet the people of Hecheng chose to stay with those from New Moon Land, almost suffocating their intentions.

“Could it be that City Lord Lin has noticed something and is deliberately protecting New Moon Land?” Qu Feng pondered with a stroke of his beard.

“How is that possible? There is no relation between Hecheng and New Moon Land. If you tell me that City Lord Lin Xian has taken a liking to Liu Binglan and is looking for an opportunity to get close, I’m more inclined to believe that! Hmph, City Lord Lin has stayed in his own territory for too long, his brain must be rusting; he doesn’t weigh his own capabilities and dares to align with New Moon Land. Isn’t that like jumping into fire? Does he really think he can withstand the crusade from all the powers against New Moon Land?” Chen Jing spoke angrily.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” the Old Housekeeper interrupted Chen Jing’s righteous indignation.

“What is it?”

“I saw an old face in the group from New Moon Land,” the Old Housekeeper said.

“Old face?” Chen Jing and Qu Feng looked at the Old Housekeeper.

“Yeah, Old Yu,” the Old Housekeeper replied.

“What Old Yu?” Chen Jing had not heard of this person.

Qu Feng’s expression grew even grimmer, and he said, “Really him?”

“Yes, it’s him. It seems he is now serving as the Guard for Madame Liu. With him there, it’s likely you two will find it difficult to accomplish the mission. Better go and consult the Old Lady again,” the Old Housekeeper advised.

After saying this, the Old Housekeeper left with his hands behind his back, leaving Chen Jing and Qu Feng standing there, stunned.

“Who is that old man surnamed Yu?” Chen Jing asked.

“You are not well-informed about the outsiders within our Royal Clan. However, I have heard some things. He is Yu Wind Flute, the former chief instructor for the young generation of outsiders in our Royal Clan. Quite a few of those rising stars within the core members of our clan were personally trained by him,” Qu Feng said.

“No way, he was the former chief instructor? Then the three or four of us combined wouldn’t be a match for him!” Chen Jing remarked.

“He is old now. His strength must have greatly diminished. However, our current clan chief instructor… was once his proud disciple,” Qu Feng now also felt a great headache.

Qu Feng had felt that the old guard accompanying Liu Binglan seemed somewhat familiar during earlier inquiries.

At first, he thought it was just a resemblance, but such a reminder from the old housekeeper suddenly made Qu Feng feel both teary and amused.

Qu Feng is certainly an expert within the Royal Clan now, and whether it is in Struggle Land or Wupan Continent, he seldom meets his match.

However, his current abilities are, to some extent, thanks to the old chief instructor Yu Wind Flute, because before he retired, he also taught Qu Feng for a few months.

During those short few months, Qu Feng reaped considerable benefits, and it was also during that time that his strength surged, allowing him to stand out within the Royal Clan…

Now, he is already an expert within the clan, on the verge of entering the ranks of the core members, yet that Old Lady issues him such an order, to take away someone from the care of his own former instructor—isn’t this tantamount to seeking death?

“It seems like our chance to enter the ranks of the core members of the clan is gone. I just hope the Old Lady won’t blame and demote us,” Qu Feng said.

“How do we know without trying? You said it yourself; he’s old now,” Chen Jing was still not ready to give up.

“Don’t you understand yet?” Qu Feng asked.

“Understand what?”

“Do you think it’s just a coincidence that he appears by the side of Lady Liu and wholly protects her safety?”

“You mean…” Chen Jing was stunned.

“Yeah, someone from our clan has been protecting her, and it started a long time ago.”

The meeting will be held in three days. During these three days, one could often see frequent movements between the mountain villas and the mountain peaks, presumably visits among these powers. The complex relationships here are not something that New Moon Land, which is new to this level, can easily unravel.

Fortunately, the visitors to Hecheng are as sparse as those to New Moon Land, which made Liu Binglan not feel isolated. It seems that independent territories are less likely to engage in this web of powers.

“I have been to these Liangkun Mountains before, where I have an old friend of high standing. I’d like to visit them. Venerable Liu can join me—it would be beneficial for Our New Moon Land,” Yu Bo said to Liu Binglan.

Liu Binglan was really idle. In the past day or two, either no one visited, or it was a hypocritical attempt to probe, which was not a pleasant feeling.

“Hmm, alright, it must be an elder, right?” Liu Binglan nodded.

“Not too old,” Yu Bo said with a slight smile.

Liu Binglan followed Yu Bo to an elegant residence behind the Main Peak Villa; the abode was behind the mountain, presumably a secluded and chic teahouse, quiet and hidden, where an elder would relax without welcoming disturbances.

“Please wait a moment, I will inform him,” Yu Bo said.

Liu Binglan nodded and stood quietly by a small spring, waiting. She was also curious about the identity of the person who had such a separate dwelling within the Royal Clan’s Liangkun Mountains.

The wooden house was simple and tidy, with one table, two chairs, and a tea set, as if there was nothing else superfluous.

Yu Bo pushed open the door and entered, the door gently closing behind him.

He bowed deeply and respectfully to the man sitting on the chair with white temples but jet-black hair, saying:

“Family Head, she is outside.”

The man with jet-black hair opened his eyes. The instant his eye sockets opened, the purple pupils were like lightning striking out from Flood Dragons!

He lifted the teacup and gently took a sip.

“Tell her that I am resting and it’s not convenient to be disturbed today,” he said.

“Family Head, why is this? Haven’t you always wanted to meet her?” Yu Bo said, his face filled with confusion.

“I’ll be fine just looking at her from this window, she’s by the spring, right?”

“This…” Yu Bo wanted to say more but didn’t know how to speak, so he just nodded, “Alright then.”

Just as Yu Bo was about to step out of the wooden house, the Family Head’s voice came from behind him again.

“Don’t go out just yet.”

Yu Bo glanced at the Family Head, quickly understood something, and returned to his original spot. (.)
