Chapter 1760: Chapter 1617: Embrace Evil
The incantation was recited, and to be honest, Chu Mu never thought he would have a day where he’d recite the spell to break the soul contract.
If possible, Chu Mu still didn’t want to let Yu Suo run away so easily. This woman was like a dangerous beauty—covered in vibrant flowers yet laced with poisonous thorns.
But compared to losing himself to her, especially the fact that she would nurture offspring, Chu Mu found it utterly unbearable to accept the latter.
The spell for removing the contract was transmitted into Yu Suo’s soul. Yu Suo had dreamed of this day—the day the soul contract would be severed. Without the soul contract, even if she couldn’t defeat Chu Mu, she could at least stay far away from him, no longer having to abide by his orders.
Feeling the spell’s message transmitted, Yu Suo hastily began reciting her own incantation.
A unique spiritual thread connected their souls. As both of them simultaneously chanted the spell, this thread began to stretch and pull on either side.
The spiritual thread was tightly bound. As they recited the spell and pulled on the connection together, sharp pain emanated from their souls—it felt as though the very essence of their being was being torn apart!
Chu Mu furrowed his brows, while Yu Suo was similarly consumed by pain.
Initially, they thought the removal of the soul contract would bring relief, as there was no genuine connection or affection between them, no bond akin to that of a Soul Pet and Soul Pet Master.
Yet, as the soul contract truly fractured, as their souls fully returned to themselves, and the thread was violently severed, the resulting agony of the rupture proved almost unbearable.
Regardless, this soul contract was Chu Mu’s First Soul Contract—the earliest one he had forged. Their souls had merged as if flesh had grown together, and forcibly tearing them apart felt akin to ripping through flesh!
Clenching his teeth, Chu Mu pressed on. The soul contract itself resisted letting go of the connection between his soul and Yu Suo’s, as the contract was intrinsically one of the most binding forces in the World, and forcibly breaking it inflicted devastating damage to the soul.
Determined, Chu Mu continued pulling his soul away from Yu Suo’s, heedless of the pain. Even if it was bloody and excruciating, he refused to let the absurd events ahead unfold.
Yu Suo, equally resolute in shattering the chains, was now deathly pale. Her lips were torn, and scarlet blood seeped out.
“Crack!!!!!!!!”
Finally, the spiritual thread emitted a crisp sound of snapping!
At that moment, both Chu Mu and Yu Suo gasped. The sharp pain spreading across their spiritual wounds twisted their expressions into masks of torment.
Covering his chest, Chu Mu’s face turned ghostly pale.
This was the second time he had broken a soul contract. The first time, he was misled into severing his contract with Mo Ye. In that moment, Chu Mu felt as though his soul had been directly snatched away, struggling even to breathe from the anguish.
And now, the feeling repeated—whether it involved a disliked Soul Pet or not, or whether Yu Suo was a lofty Good and Evil Queen devoid of sentiment, the breaking of this longest-held soul contract inflicted an indescribable pain upon his soul.
Likewise, Yu Suo endured the same torment as Chu Mu. She took a deep breath, only to feel an excruciating agony penetrate her soul’s wound.
Both of them panted heavily, their heads slightly bowed.
Chu Mu regained composure faster, wiping sweat from his forehead. Glancing at the hair tangled around him, he spoke: “You… can let go of me now, right?”
Yu Suo raised her head, her forehead and neck drenched in fragrant sweat.
Taking a few breaths, she slowly spoke: “Did I ever say that breaking the soul contract would prevent the Ancestor of Good and Evil from maturing its innate impulses?”
Chu Mu froze, staring at her in astonishment. “What… what do you mean!!”
“Still don’t understand? Even without the soul contract, the Ancestor of Good and Evil still needs your bloodline to nurture the Flower Offspring!” Yu Suo replied.
“Then why did you agree to break the soul contract?” Chu Mu demanded.
“Once I regain clarity, I can kill you. Then forcibly erase this memory, and treat it as though nothing ever happened!” Yu Suo said coldly, addressing him without emotion.
“You venomous woman!” Chu Mu exclaimed angrily.
He had kindly set her free, planning to go their separate ways without interfering. Yet, no sooner was the soul contract broken that she plotted his death. Was there anyone in the world more treacherous than her?
He should have burned her Flower Pistil to ashes long ago!
“Venomous? Is there anyone more cruel than you? When you used Demon Flame to torture me, did you even think about what kind of person you were…” Yu Suo snapped, pointing at Chu Mu.
However, her voice gradually weakened as a wave of softness took over her body, followed by an irresistible flush of heat.
Chu Mu’s furious gaze dimmed as his anger was quietly replaced by an entirely different emotion.
It was unimaginable—two enemies staring daggers at each other, yelling accusations, suddenly falling silent, gazing into each other’s eyes. Their previously pale faces slowly flushed red.
Holy and dazzling flowers bloomed in the hall, and Yu Suo’s hair, which had been transformed into flower whiskers, reverted to its original vivid purple.
Purely noble, her long, purple hair flowed down her alabaster and slim figure, complementing a face so exquisitely beautiful it seemed to steal the breath of anyone who gazed upon her. Chu Mu stood frozen, staring at this woman radiating allure, grace, holiness, and seduction simultaneously, as though all his memories had been wiped clean.
It was as if he had suddenly returned to a time long, long ago, to a moment within a Holy Blue Flower, where a vulnerable and poignant young girl was helplessly calling for his aid. Back then, Chu Mu merely intended to ease her suffering.
Now, looking at her mature yet heartbreakingly lovely face, Chu Mu felt that she was in pain once again—and that she needed his help…
…
Darkness and cold intertwined, viscous liquid coated her entire body.
Yu Suo slowly opened her eyes, realizing that she was enveloped in something soft yet saturated with fluid.
As she tried to escape these peculiar substances, she suddenly discovered they behaved like her own bloodline, constantly infusing energy into her body…
“What happened to me?” Yu Suo muttered, staring at herself and at the heart-like pulsating bloom before her.
She struggled to remember.
Wasn’t she dead?
She had jumped from Sky End Cliff, an action that guaranteed her demise.
She only recalled the increasingly distant faces she detested along the cliff’s edge, as she plummeted deeper and deeper.
She remembered landing in a writhing den of magic vines, where enormous tendrils whipped around her like raging dragons. The deeper she fell, the more the monstrous black forms obscured her view…
Then, it seemed, a gaping esophagus swallowed her whole, shrouding her consciousness in darkness.
“Wasn’t I supposed to be devoured by the most terrifying Flower Demon in existence?” Yu Suo’s memory fixated on the moment she was consumed, overwhelmed by terror and despair.
But why hadn’t she died, and why was she bound by these viscous substances…?
More accurately, these substances seemed to be part of her own body—she could even perceive another mind and soul within her.
She attempted to move her body.
At that moment, she felt the surrounding darkness begin to shift.
Out of the void emerged a colossal entity—a gargantuan Demonic Flower, its surface densely marked with ominous, twisted patterns!
Massive flower vines overlapped and extended everywhere, the entire visible area engulfed by these serpent-like tendrils as they shifted through the gloom. Even by craning her neck, Yu Suo couldn’t grasp the full form of the Ancestor Flower or its throne; she had to rotate her skull to capture its grand scale.
Holy blue hues, vivid red—as if representing sanctity and corruption. Yu Suo stood dazed amidst the black, intertwined space of creeping vines, feeling as though she’d fallen into hell itself. Otherwise, why would she be witnessing such a ghastly and awe-inspiring scene!
Terrified, she scrambled to escape.
Yet suddenly, she felt deeply connected to everything around her, to all the dreadful and expansive forms…
It seemed… it seemed as though these revolting, enormous entities were a part of her!
Slowly, she raised her hand, and suddenly, the Ancestor Demonic Flower, surrounded by countless massive vines, began to bloom.
From within the blossoming demonic flower emerged a figure—a Demon Concubine with alternating blue and crimson skin!
Her hair flowed in a cascade of flower whiskers, her body was composed of overlapping petal-like scales, and she possessed both the face and physique of a woman. What frightened Yu Suo even more, however, was that this Concubine Ancestor was modeled entirely after her own features!
The face, minus the skin tones, was identical to hers—even the figure perfectly mirrored her image.
Staring at the demon concubine birthed from the flower, Yu Suo felt as though she were gazing into a twisted, eerie reflection of herself!
“This is me… this is me… how have I become like this…”
“This isn’t me… this isn’t me, I don’t look like this!”
Yu Suo fell to the ground in fright, this reality more horrifying than any nightmare!!
She crawled backward, desperate to distance herself from this hell.
But how could she possibly escape herself?
The Demon Concubine adorned with petals opened her eyes—eyes identical to Yu Suo’s. Their gaze locked, it felt as if she were staring into her own soul. Within them, she saw resentment, fury, and hatred!
That resentment, fury, and hatred filled her with a yearning for power—to rend the faces she loathed beyond measure to shreds!
They all deserved to die. They had killed her most cherished loved ones, using methods so cruel.
At that moment, she ceased retreating.
She stared at the malevolent version of herself and, suppressing her terror, began moving toward it. Just like when she jumped off the cliff, embracing death and darkness. She now chose to embrace this unsettling, abhorrent reflection of herself! (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian () to cast your Recommended Votes and Monthly Tickets.
