“I’ll go first!” Isabelle jumped at Arad, but before she could touch him, Kali snatched her away, “No, you won’t.” She looked at her with a smile and then dragged her to the side. “Aella and Mira are going first. We’re after. Give them some respect, at least.”
Isabelle looked at her for a long second and sighed, “Who’s speaking? The Goddess of Destruction. Do you know how scary it is for you to let someone else go in front of you? I’m sure your little helpful assistant here is both terrified and confused.” Isabelle pointed at Diana.
Diana shrugged, “I’m her Archon, so I do whatever she wants or asks without questions.” She leaned back on the couch and stared at Arad and Aella, who were about to start.
“Would’ve I wanted to be here? No, I’ve just met him. How in the hell would it make any sense for me to be here naked, submitting myself to him?” Diana took a deep breath and then sighed, “But she said I should do it. And we’re not talking about anyone but an ancient, all-powerful goddess of destruction that I served for thousands of years. Me not understanding her intentions is understandable.”
Isabelle frowned, “You trust your goddess too much. I thought angels would’ve learned something in the past eons.”
“We did, and that is our gods are always right. They know us better than we know ourselves. We were born from their essence.” Diana glared at Isabelle, “But I doubt someone like you would understand.” She looked at Kali, “If she is acting like this, Arad must be someone quite important, unique, or has something that we either need or is a boon above everything we’ve ever known.”
Isabelle looked at Diana with a smug face. “Really? What if I told you that all Destruction seeks is destruction? Her vision for you is to suffer for eternity, ever broken and rebuilt as a work of destructive art. Do you think Kali understands the good or bad? She only knows how to bring destruction and ruin. You follow her. You follow a path to your own demise.”
“Then so be it. If you think mere words can sway an Archon, you’re really naive.” Diana smiled, “She can destroy me and the whole world if she wants. I only care about following her orders. That is what I was born for, and that is what I did for my whole life.”
Isabella glared at Diana for a while and then burst laughing, “Kali, you’ve picked a good one.” She lifted her hand and flicked her fingers, “Don’t worry, only the three of us can hear ourselves. Kali is right. In fact, I believe you should be begging her to let you stay, not the other way around.”
Diana blinked and looked at Kali, “What’s up with her?”
“That Creation, technically, she should be as strong as me. But I’ve killed her in the past, and now she is weakened a lot. She fully understands why Arad is important and why we are here.” She scratched the back of her head, “But don’t let what happens today get in your way.” Kali leaned back and put one leg on another.
“When I’m in my tiny form, you’re my caretaker. When I’m in my Destruction form, you’re my concubine. Believe me, in a few years, you’ll understand that getting anywhere near Arad in this stage is better than any decision in your life.” Kali looked away, thinking to herself. ^All angels lamented the fact they weren’t born in the age where AO ruled, and you’re the one who cried about it the most. You’re the one who told me in the past that if AO showed up, you’d betray me in a heartbeat to serve the real god of the universe. I can’t tell you the truth, but I’m just giving you what you once asked for: a chance to serve AO.^
Diana stood and looked at Arad and Aella, who were passionately stuck together, and she then turned her gaze to Kali. “I don’t need an explanation. Just tell me what I should do or feel now. That’ll help me understand what you can’t tell me.”
It wasn’t Kali who replied, but Isabelle. “You should be happy, thrilled, and overjoyed, maybe even impatient to start.”
“Isabelle, you don’t say she should.” Kali shook her head and then looked at Diana, “I THINK you should be feeling as Isabelle said. But don’t take my word for it. Do whatever you feel is right. Trust me and stay, or leave. You’re the decided. I only apologize since I can’t explain the details.”
“Then I’ll say,” Diana smiled and dropped on her seat beside Kali, “If I’m understanding things right, then Arad rules now.” A smug smile covered her face. “Does that mean we two are the same here?”
Kali thought about it, “Yeah, we’re all equal when Arad takes the reins, so you can treat me as if I’m not your goddess. At least when we’re in the bedroom.”
“Then, if you don’t mind the disrespect.” Diana took a deep breath, “How come you, the great Demon Goddess of Destruction, the harbinger of chaos and doom, the one creature the abominations fear more than the Overgod, the one whose mere name sends armies of billions trembling in their boots and shitting themselves, who’s whole race is known for dominance and power, how come you are so submissive that you allow him to have other women?”
Diana took a deep breath, “I honestly expected you to be the dominant one, and I’m here just to satisfy some twisted kink of yours.”
“Disappointed that I’m not that demonic in nature?” Kali smiled, and Diana rubbed her face.
“Do you know what I thought when you first called me here? Just what Isabelle said.” She then looked at her, “To us, the angels, you’ve been a fair and stern leader, but we never got to know you past rumors and your orders on the battlefields. I know how cruel you can be. I’ve seen armies sent to their death to stall for time.”
Kali laughed, “We’ll, you’re half right. I do have all the demon’s sadistic and evil tendencies, but I’m a goddess. I can keep those things in check with ease. I was raised to be a loving and gentle woman.”
Isabelle spoke behind them, “Don’t tempt her. Destruction can be the most vile thing you’ve ever seen. She is just as harrowing and cruel as you imagine.”
