Chapter 2839 Death Amidst Life
Evolutionary Divergence.
A Sage-level version of the Squire Evolution technique that he had created. By carefully subjecting his cells to gamma radiation, he could cause mutations that would increase the divergence, allowing him to adaptively evolve much faster.
It would have been suicidal in the Master Realm, he simply lacked the precision, accuracy, and control needed not to die.
And yet, he was now a Martial Sage.
The resolution of his perception of the world had increased exponentially.
He could peer at the very foundation matter.
It increased his precision and accuracy.
It increased his control over high principles.
“Huff…”
With a single breath, he created a domain of heaven and earth around him.
With another breath, he used the principles of acoustic conduction and gaseous dynamics to convert pressure and sound into heat.
A lot of heat.
More heat than he had ever created in his entire life.
“Sun.”
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as he created a dome of pure heat at just the right temperatures to unleash gamma radiation. A technique based on the principles of Black Body Radiation.
This time, he was able to control every single individual ray of gamma radiation.
Every photon.
He manipulated the very fabric of space to guide their trajectory.
Just as sound could be used to exert force and even levitate objects in a phenomenon known as acoustic levitation, the same could be done with gravitational waves. By constructively superimposing gravitational waves with constructive resonance, he could manipulate all of causality through the fabric of space and time.
He exerted materia prima to create extreme concentrations of energy in very small regions of space to create near-singularities of tremendous weight on the fabric of space, and revolved them at extraordinary speeds, creating powerful gravitational waves that could be constructively superimposed to become any manner of force.
It allowed him to guide the trajectory of each and every single photon of gamma radiation to his cells as they reproduce, causing just enough of a divergence in his DNA without killing him.
And yet, Rui didn’t simply randomly bathe his DNA in gamma radiation.
He surgically administered it as a tool to alter the programming of the very foundation of his life as the Forge of Creation blazed with power for the third time as a Martial Sage, spitting out yet another technique. “Life Decryption.”
A system of thought that allowed him to read DNA.
By measuring an extraordinary amount of biological and chemical data, it was possible to simulate the kind of lifeform that given DNA would produce as long as one created an algorithm based on the laws of chemistry.
His pupils dilated with a euphoric satisfaction as each new generation of cells diverged from their predecessors. Each new generation of cells had adaptively evolved to the poison of the Gu better and better.
His rate of death slowed down with each generation.
Cells were born with an innate dependence on the Gu, relying on it as an essential constituent of the biochemistry and metabolism of the cell.
They embraced the Gu poison.
They embraced Death itself.
Life had become Death itself.
A flux of rebirth and death kept each other in check, ensuring that neither side overwhelmed the other.
The more the Gu became integrated into his very lifeforce, the more dependent on it he became.
It turned from an agent of death to an agent of life.
Unfortunately, there was a price to pay.
“…My lifespan.”
There was a reason that the complete Body Evolution procedure was done only once to each Martial Artist. Beyond a certain degree of radiation exposure, it would damage the very essence of one’s physicality, reducing one’s lifespan tremendously.
It was a price that Rui had no choice but to pay, if he wanted to survive the Gu poison in the present.
He could worry about his depleted lifespan after he got through this mess.
With each passing moment, he grew further and further away from death. Having been on the very brink of death, having stared death in the eyes, he could feel himself reaching the embrace of life of once more.
His health grew better and better by the second.
His cells were more alive.
More vigorous.
He watched as his metabolism bloomed with vitality.
He watched as his tissue grew stronger and stronger against Death itself, fighting back against the poison that ate away at him. His systems began functioning more healthily.
His organs slowly returned to peak performance.
His breathing came easier.
It grew less labored.
It grew stronger.
Nourishing his entire body with a flood of precious oxygen.
BADUMP
His heart beat harder.
Faster.
Stronger.
It pumped blood across the entirety of his Body.
To every cell.
Invigorating all life within him. His health rose with each passing second.
A poison that increasingly fueled his life, rather than eating away at it.
With each generation of cells, the Gu poison increasingly became integrated into their very biochemistry, an essential component. They integrated Death itself into their life, assimilating into their metabolism and other life functions.
He could feel the foe becoming a friend.
He could feel the poison that once answered to Demon of Asmodeous answering to him instead.
He could feel Death becoming a part of his life. His skin grew darker and darker.
Almost pitch black.
As it absorbed the poison into its depths.
He had become a species by himself.
One that was blessed with the most potent poison known to man. His touch has become extraordinarily lethal.
Enough to kill nearly any source of life.
He had gained a fraction of the power that made the Demon of Asmodeous the most lethal Martial Sage in the world. He had tamed Death.
His eyes opened.
The blood-red Suns in his eyes flared with a godly amount of power.
His body brimmed with power unlike anything he had ever felt in his entire life.
Every cell in his body quaked with extraordinary vigor.
The sum totality of his being had elevated to extraordinary heights.
A deathly vigor occupied his eyes.
His aura.
His presence.
And yet, his gaze was fixed on one and only one person.
“Amare.”
