Chapter 3369 One Left
No one could be blamed for being lost. Even Herbert still didn't know what the entire plan was, just that he had to pretend to be forced to that side of the room. In fact, it went worse than he wanted as he did indeed suffer quite a bit when he was sent flying against the wall. Only the Zangeshu, Kentucky, Rean, and Roan knew the entire plan.
Going back a few seconds in the past...
When Roan contacted Zangeshu in the Dimensional Realm, he had Rean use his Light Bending Skill in a certain part of the room, quickly bringing Zangeshu out there. Thanks to that, Zangeshu's presence was not seen.
That wasn't all, of course. Bringing someone outside of a Dimensional Realm would definitely catch the attention of those in the Void Tempering Realm and above due to their Natural Spatial Perceptions. Finding the opportunity to bring Zangeshu out while Hiki pursued them was easier said than done.
Still, it was Roan we were talking about. He found that one opening while his group kept running away from Hiki. Then, Zangeshu simply stayed there, concentrating all his power of Lightning on his sword, one of Rean's best weapons since he made it for his disciple.
Then, the plan was put into practice. Herbert was sent flying to their side of the room, and halfway to Herbert, the twins and Kentucky appeared. Kalamdra had made it clear from the very start that his plan was to capture the twins and learn their secrets. He was absolutely sure that the twins got something incredible in the Mist Library to become that strong out of nowhere.
Hiki and Kalamdra also knew each other very well, so it was easy for the two to switch targets when the opportunity arrived. As long as Kalamdra captured the twins, Herbert would be of little concern. He could simply join hands with Hiki and get rid of Herbert after that.
Naturally, Kentucky and the twins tried to flee from Kalamdra's grasp as fast as possible, but how could they outrun a Peak Stage Space-Time Realm Expert? What they were doing with Hiki was nothing short of a miracle already, and that definitely wouldn't work against Kalamdra.
Sure enough, Kalamdra shot in their direction, slowing them down and catching up to them in a second! Even if he was confident he could catch the twins, Kalamdra wouldn't give them a chance to escape, so he flew as fast as possible to the twins' side. Unfortunately... moving that fast was his fatal mistake.
Exactly in between Kalamdra and the twins with Kentucky, there was that one little space where the light was being bent with Rean's Light Bending Skill!
One has to understand that the circumstances truly had to play in the twins' favor here. First, it was the white mist in the area, which made it harder to see things. Second, it was the lack of Divine Sense. If Divine Sense worked in this place, Rean's Light Bending Skill would have been pierced easily once Kalamdra got close enough to Zangeshu, and that ultimately would reveal Zangeshu's location.
Third, Zangeshu's Transition Realm played a key role in this plan. Divine Senses didn't work, but that wasn't the same for the Natural Spatial Perceptions. Those still worked fine. It's just that they wouldn't spread anywhere near as far as Divine Senses.
Let's not forget that those in the Void Tempering Realm and above appear like Black Spots inside someone else's Natural Spatial Perception. The higher the cultivation after Void Tempering Realm, the bigger the spot. Zangeshu's exact cultivation was Transition Realm Initial Stage, so... he simply didn't appear in the Natural Spatial Perception of higher level experts yet.
Four and last, it was Kalamdra's speed to close his distance to the twins and Kentucky. He flew so fast to catch them that it played against him. All Zangeshu had to do was wait for Kalamdra to come, point his Sword forward, and stay still to not cause any ripples that could reveal his presence.
Sure enough, Kalamdra ran with his face straight into Zangeshu's Sword. It pierced through his head, and the Lightning Element made the rest, destroying his soul instantly. Still, Zangeshu's cultivation was too low, so just the impact head-on against Kalamdra caused him to suffer several terrible internal and external injuries. No doubt, trying such a thing would be suicide to any normal cultivator at Zangeshu's level.
Fortunately for him, he had Rean as master, and that also meant he had access to the Starlight Body Cultivation Technique. He was still not the combat type, but just with that Body Cultivation Technique alone, his body was much stronger than those at the same level. Thus, he survived the impact while managing to kill Kalamdra at the same time.
*BANG!*
Herbert and Hiki exchanged another move, but this time, Herbert came out on top, albeit just slightly. He quickly used that chance to fly to the twins and Kentucky's side while Rean sent Zangeshu back into the Dimensional Realm.
"Do you still want to continue this?" Herbert asked with a serious expression. This time, he didn't try to stop Hiki from going after Kalamdra's body.
Hiki quickly caught that body, and now that he could touch it, he was able to send his Divine Sense inside directly. It only took a moment for him to confirm that Kalamdra was dead. "You... do you know what you have done?"
"Hmph!" Herbert waved his hand, and a device in his wrist activated, generating a holographic screen in front of everyone. There, Kalamdra's message, revoking his own rights as an Inquisition Hall member, could be seen. "Regardless of who he might have been, once he gave up his rights for this exploration, the Inquisition Hall lost any reason to pursue the outcome of whatever happened to him."
Hiki narrowed his eyes, sending Kalamdra's body into his own Pocket Dimensional Realm. "You aren't wrong there, but I wonder if things will really play out like that, considering his background. In any case, I'm only here to help Kalamdra. Since he is dead, I have no reason to pursue this further. I'll take my leave."
Hiki then turned around and flashed to one of the exits of the room. He glanced at the twins and Kentucky, still interested in how they were that strong. Nonetheless, he knew he would have no chance to do anything with Herbert there, so he decided to leave.
Naturally, the same could be said for Kalamdra's subordinates, who quickly followed Hiki. Staying there while Herbert was still alive would be nothing but suicide. Even if Hiki managed to hold Herbert somehow, the power the twins and Kentucky displayed was enough to send chills on their backs.
In the end, there was only one Peak Stage Space-Time Realm expert remaining, and that was Samalia, who hadn't left the amphora's side during all this time.
