Chapter 883: Chapter 865: The Azure Transformation!

Rocky found himself surrounded by so many high-level demons, and his mind instantly went blank. He couldn’t comprehend how these demons had been attracted here.

True, he had just fought a fierce battle with a Steel Fury Demon, but for one, the duration wasn’t particularly long, and for another, the commotion wasn’t excessively large. Even if it did alert other high-level demons, it shouldn’t have drawn this many—why was even the Magic Dragon above disturbed?

Could it be…

Could it be these demons were actually searching for him all along?

Looking at the numerous high-level demons gradually closing in, Rocky considered the possibility: these demons might have been looking for him this whole time.

This thought had crossed his mind during his earlier encounter with the Magic Dragon. When it appeared, it seemed to be patrolling. The same situation occurred with the Steel Fury Demon—it looked like it was standing guard when it discovered him.

At the same time, he was puzzled as to how these demons had managed to detect him.

Back then, it had already seemed strange when the Magic Dragon spotted him. He had been hiding so well, yet the dragon suddenly struck. The same went for the Steel Fury Demon—although it had seemed about to leave, it abruptly sensed something and dragged him out. This was far too unusual.

Sensed something…

At this thought, Rocky furrowed his brows and pulled out his Magic Fang Scythe, glancing at its tip. What he saw made him gasp—a chill running through his chest—for at this moment, the Azure Fang embedded in the scythe’s tip was glowing brighter than ever!

Ever since entering Misty Mountain, the Azure Fang had exhibited strange reactions, which was why Rocky had ordered his team to withdraw, leaving him alone to investigate. Now, in the depths of the mountain, the Azure Fang had undergone further drastic changes, its emitted light growing unbearably bright—even somewhat blinding!

Could the Azure Fang have exposed his location?

Gazing at the increasingly radiant Azure Fang, Rocky’s heart sank. Despite all his efforts to remain cautious and inconspicuous, coupled with the advanced tech enhancements of his White Demon Armor, it should have been essentially impossible for demons—especially this many high-level demons—to detect him. Yet they had, and now he was encircled. The only plausible explanation was that something had compromised his position, and that something was likely the Azure Fang.

Just as this thought crossed his mind, a thunderous crashing sound suddenly echoed. Turning toward the source, Rocky saw several massive trees tumbling to the ground. Bearing down on the fallen trees were three Steel Fury Demons walking shoulder to shoulder.

The three demons emerged from the mist in unison, resembling a moving wall. Before Rocky could react, his peripheral vision caught sight of two figures leaping onto tree branches in the distance—two Knife Fox Demons, their scythes already gleaming ominously.

Scanning in other directions, faint ghostly lights shimmered as two or three Ghost Demons drifted closer. These demons, lacking true physical forms and enshrouded by the surrounding fog, resembled spectral apparitions approaching from all sides.

He was completely surrounded…

When all kinds of high-level demons emerged from the mist and closed in, Rocky realized this was no ordinary skirmish. His best—and only—option now was to escape by air. On the ground, it was impossible to break through such an overwhelming blockade. Unfortunately, when he glanced overhead, he found not just one Magic Dragon circling but two!

No way to escape, neither to the skies nor the earth!

At that moment, Rocky truly felt desperation creeping in. Surrounded by so many high-level demons, breaking out on land was unfeasible, while the sky was guarded by two Magic Dragons. He couldn’t even contend with one Magic Dragon, let alone two, and an aerial escape would essentially be suicide.

It seemed… he would have to fight his way out!

Realizing both sky and ground exits were blocked, Rocky reacted swiftly. He understood immediately that his only chance of escape lay in carving a path through his enemies. However, trying to break through the sky was clearly impossible. Even if he somehow evaded the twin Magic Dragons, he couldn’t risk endangering the War Steed waiting for him. Ground escape it was—he needed to outrun and outmaneuver the Magic Dragons long enough to regroup with the War Steed.

This decision forced Rocky to plot carefully. Glancing around, he quickly assessed his options.

The Knife Fox Demons were incredibly fast, and while the White Demon Armor afforded him some advantage in speed, engaging either in prolonged combat would entangle him, delaying any escape attempt. Ghost Demons, on the other hand, had no physical forms and could only be hurt via mana-based attacks—elemental damage worked best—but they were elusive and unpredictable, among the strangest of all high-level demons. Rocky had no personal combat experience with them, making them a poor confrontation option.

Finally, Rocky’s eyes locked onto a true behemoth—the Giant Statue Demon.

Appearing like a gargantuan stone sculpture come to life, the demon’s massive frame dwarfed even the Steel Fury Demons, whose height reached only its waist. While a towering enemy like the Giant Statue Demon wasn’t an ideal opponent for battle, its bulky size rendered it sluggish in movement and reflexes. As such, it was Rocky’s best bet for creating an opening to break through.

With his mind made up, Rocky wasted no time. He began charging his Magic Fang Scythe, preparing to carve a path through hell in one decisive strike.

But just as he infused the weapon with mana, the Azure Fang at the tip of the scythe suddenly radiated an overwhelming brilliance, instantly dispelling the fog in a hundred-meter radius around him.

The dazzling brightness caught Rocky off guard, leaving him momentarily stunned. He never imagined that the Azure Fang would react in such a way upon contact with mana. When he finally regained his senses and looked around, his heart truly sank.

With the fog now cleared, his surroundings came into sharp focus. Only then did Rocky realize he was not merely encircled by dozens of high-level demons—within the hundred-meter radius, there were over a hundred!

More than a hundred high-level demons—this was a scene Rocky had never witnessed before. High-level demons were extremely rare; typically, ten among ten thousand ordinary demons would already be considered an astonishing number. But here were over a hundred gathered in one place!

Yet the most bizarre discovery was yet to come: none of the high-level demons had attacked him.

By all logic, the explosively aggressive nature of high-level demons should have prompted them to rush at him the moment they spotted him. Now, though, over a hundred surrounded him, including a Knife Fox Demon perched merely dozens of meters away on a nearby tree. And still, none of them moved!

What kind of situation was this?

Noticing the anomaly, Rocky couldn’t help but glance down at the radiant Azure Fang…
